He auctioned off the incomplete stone tablet for one purpose—

To bait the knowledgeable.

Find the buyer. Follow silently. Kill at the perfect mont. Retrieve the stone tablet. Extract all secrets the fool possessed.

With strength at the middle stage of Upper Supre, Thousand Faces believed he reigned supre across the entire Skyreach Territory.

Who could possibly resist him?

Who could escape after being marked by him?

No one.

Even Iris, who wielded a divine weapon, might not escape a sudden assassination from him.

After all—

Thousand Faces was a man built entirely of deception, tricks, and hidden trump cards.

A creature who survived by killing and surviving what should have killed him.

Killing the target while gaining information—

Truly killing two birds with one stone.

Thousand Faces was vicious.

Cunning.

Sinister.

Insidious to the extre.

"You’re quite clever," he chuckled behind the ghost mask.

"But I, Quin Gavel, do not wish to make unnecessary enemies today. So I’ll give you an offer."

He pointed a finger at Ethan—thin, pale, almost playful.

"Hand over my incomplete stone tablet, and tell what you know. Do that, and I will leave."

His voice remained flat, his tone amused.

"Otherwise, things will turn ugly. Very, very ugly."

"I am an Upper Supre. I may not be able kill you two, but making you suffer?" He giggled again.

"That is easy."

Neither Ethan nor Asher reacted.

But Thousand Faces continued, his voice forming a mocking rhythm.

He was fearless because of the ancient artifact he wore— The ghost mask.

A weapon from forgotten eras.

It concealed aura completely— altered breath— changed body shape— copied appearance— and even mimicked strength.

Anyone whose blood was fused into the mask could be copied.

Even those stronger than him.

He possessed two drops of blood from an Ultimate Supre recorded within the mask.

He had risked half his life for it—

but the reward had been imnse.

There was a ti when he pretended to be an Ultimate Supre.

And under that guise, he nearly escaped the Blood Tavern Master himself.

Since then, he had traveled half the Oceanreach continent.

Exploring ruins, raiding secret grounds—

seeking two things:

Opportunities to grow in power.

And corpses of ancient Supres whose blood he could record.

His mask was his life.

His identity.

His pride.

With thousands of faces and identities, he beca the continent’s most elusive criminal.

A ghost.

A shadow.

A legend of deception.

"Ah, if that old man knew that I stood right in front of his own guardian—" Thousand Faces glanced at Asher with a wicked grin.

"—without being recognized, he would vomit blood from anger."

He loved it.

This feeling of sneaking, hiding, tricking people stronger than himself—

Walking the dog, as he called it.

Letting them chase him in circles.

Letting them almost catch him— and then slipping away like smoke.

Every ti he revealed himself intentionally, just to escape at the last second—

That thrill was intoxicating.

"It seems this incomplete stone tablet holds great secrets," Asher remarked lightly, smiling as if discussing business.

"How about you give us the secret, and we share it together?"

Thousand Faces let out a giggle that grated on the ears.

"Giggle... quite the joker, aren’t you?"

"Strong, yes, but still an early-stage Upper Supre. If I decide to kill Ethan and take the treasure—" He licked his lips beneath the mask.

"You won’t be able to stop ."

"Now I’m giving you a chance. Don’t be ungrateful."

Every sentence ended with that strange laughter.

He sounded like a fool—

But his eyes behind the mask were razor sharp.

The reason he hadn’t attacked imdiately was simple—

He feared reinforcents.

So he stalled. Tested. Observed.

And now?

He was certain.

Only Ethan and Asher were here.

No one else.

That ant—

He could kill and plunder without restraint.

Thousand Faces turned his attention back to Ethan.

This young man... This monster... This anomaly in the heavens—

Even he felt a tremor in his heart after witnessing Ethan’s growth today.

Thousand Faces had lived for nearly a thousand years.

He wandered half the continent.

t countless geniuses, monsters, and prodigies.

Yet Ethan... Ethan was the first to make him feel genuine awe.

Even the Blood Tavern Master didn’t have such terrifying comprehension.

A Nirvana Realm cultivator— killing two Inferior Supres—

Unheard of. Impossible. Unnatural.

But Ethan did it.

And not only that.

He also killed the mysterious female supre from the Treasure Appraisal Conference— the one who bought his incomplete stone tablet.

That woman possessed treasures.

Holy-grade spiritual thods.

A supre corpse.

The incomplete stone tablet.

A divine weapon— the compass of heaven and earth.

All of it now belonged to Ethan.

Along with whatever Asher’s ring contained.

So many treasures...

Thousand Faces only wanted three:

His incomplete stone tablet.

One divine weapon.

And Ethan’s knowledge of the stone tablet.

He didn’t want to kill Ethan.

Not imdiately.

Soone with such monstrous talent—

Obtaining a drop of Ethan’s blood and recording it into his mask...

The power he would gain from that— even if only temporary— would be unimaginable.

Ethan felt his gaze through the mask—

cold, venomous, suffocating— like being watched by a starving serpent.

"So," Ethan thought coldly, "he wants my artifact and incomplete stone tablet."

Ethan knew the danger.

A man like Thousand Faces was the worst kind of enemy— unkillable, unpredictable, crawling inside shadows like a phantom.

If he escaped today—

He would never stop until he obtained what he wanted.

Ethan’s decision was made.

He must take the chance today— and try to kill the so-called ghost with a thousand identities.

Ethan smiled back.

"You have more than just one stone tablet." His tone was calm, almost amused.

Thousand Faces froze for half a second—

Then giggled.

"Gee, you’re quite sharp."

"You’re right. I have many stone tablet fragnts."

His eyes flickered greedily.

"But judging from your tone— you must have more than one as well."

He leaned forward slightly.

"Hand it over."
