Chapter 315: Episode 315_A Glamorous Trip (1)

1.

When ordinary people prepare for a trip, they usually get their real lives in order first. They make arrangents for their absence, whether it’s regarding work, chores, or childcare. They pack their bags, ask others to help with their responsibilities, or handle everything in advance.

Han Simin, however, was a little different.

“I’ll be gone for about a week, so if any weirdos show up, deal with them yourselves. Don’t show any rcy—just kill them all. Aria and Grokile haven’t been around much lately, so keep an eye on them and make sure they’re not up to anything stupid. If Squeaker says he’s hungry, call that fool over and have him feed him. Make sure the Rabbits and Sudal don’t slack off. I’ll talk to Epia myself.”

The group remained silent.

They were supposed to et at the airport in just four hours, yet instead of packing, he was logged into the ga, worrying about his absence there. To a normal person, it would have seed ridiculous, but to Simin, it was the most natural thing in the world.

As he gave his instructions, he felt he could finally understand how his parents must have felt when they left on trips, telling him to take good care of his younger sibling.

It was only a week. It wasn’t like the world would turn upside down; he could just go and co back. That was how it should have been, but apparently, when you are the one leaving, your mind doesn’t work that way. He couldn’t stop thinking about all the things that could go wrong, like his territory collapsing while he was gone.

After finishing his “arrangents,” Simin climbed out of the capsule, grabbed only his wallet and phone, and headed out.

In the underground parking lot, a foreign luxury car was parked with an air of self-importance. It was one of Kenji’s beloved cars, custom-built to the owner’s specifications and the only one of its kind in the world. The sight of it caught his eye, but Simin rely glanced at it once before walking right past.

“Seriously. What’s the point of having a car if I can’t even drive it?”

At first, of course, he had been thrilled. He was a guy, after all, and he had just acquired a sleek, expensive car that made heads turn. How could he not be happy? He had wanted to hop in right away, cruise around the city, and finally understand why people beca “car-poor” just to own a luxury vehicle.

But reality wasn’t so kind.

For starters, it had been six years since he’d gotten his license, and he hadn’t driven a single ti since. That fact alone held him back. Technically, there was nothing stopping him from driving, but the problem was that Simin didn’t trust himself.

’If I try to show off and end up dead, who does that help?’

He had barely scraped by in a tiny studio apartnt before his life finally turned around. If a guy whose license was basically rotting in a drawer got behind the wheel and crashed, the odds of him dying before he could enjoy the money he’d earned were probably higher than his chances of enhancing a Divine Object to

15.

In the ga, he was a man of action, bold and relentless, but in real life, he was more cautious than anyone.

So, he had no regrets. The car wasn’t going to disappear just because he left it in the parking lot for a while.

’I’ll practice again later and take it for a spin then.’

It was too expensive to be a permanent display piece. The only problem was whether he would ever find the ti to practice.

Leaving behind a car worth enough to buy a small building, Han Simin stepped out onto the street and hailed a taxi.

Airports were always crowded with people, so leaving Korea, others arriving. Statistics claid that global tourism had declined since the launch of 『Fantastic World』, but you’d never know it from the sheer number of people here. It was still packed, even on a weekday. That ant there were just as many people flying for work as there were people who didn’t care and were going on vacation anyway.

Like the Specialists.

“You’re early,” Simin said, walking toward the three who had already arrived and were drinking coffee. He couldn’t help but let out a low whistle. “Wow. You really are gorgeous.”

She had always been pretty, but Jeong Seolah, all dressed up for the real world, was even more beautiful.

“What about ?” Kang Yeseul chid in.

“You’re cute in your own way,” Simin teased.

“What the hell is that supposed to an?”

“I’m kidding. Honestly, with faces like yours, I don’t get why you’re playing gas at all.”

The sa went for Yeseul. Simin, who had long since grown accustod to being around beautiful won, found his expression involuntarily scrunching up. The world was full of strange people. He had thought so from the first ti they t, and the thought returned every ti he saw them. If they had just chosen a career where they could profit from their looks and public attention, like being celebrities, they wouldn’t be in a situation where they barely slept and burned through money.

’...Not that you aren’t rich already.’

“I don’t have as much as you, but I have plenty. So marry .”

Since Simin’s own life was far from normal, he simply ignored her comnt and kept walking.

“So, where are we going?” Jeong Hyeonsu finally asked as they followed, chatting excitedly.

They hadn’t worried about the destination or the flight, since Simin had taken full responsibility. But now that they were here and about to depart, their curiosity was getting the better of them. In fact, Hyeonsu had been curious from the mont they decided to take a trip. For the great Han Simin to offer to cover travel expenses, even with chaebols in the group, was unheard of. And not just any expense, but the flight, which accounted for a huge portion of the total cost.

How could he not be curious? Unfortunately, with Simin, the question wasn’t so much ’Is he paying full price?’ but rather ’What kind of discounted ticket did he beat out of soone this ti?’

At Hyeonsu’s pointed question, Seolah and Yeseul also stopped chatting and perked up their ears.

Shoulders squared, Han Simin announced proudly, “We’re going to the Maldives!”

They were speechless.

All three of them froze mid-step.

Then they asked again.

“Excuse ?”

“The Maldives?”

“Did I hear that right?”

“The Maldives! First class, at your service. Just follow .”

Silence stretched between them.

The answer didn’t change, and their feet remained rooted to the spot. It felt like being stumped on a multiple-choice question, agonizing over whether the answer was 2 or 3, only for the teacher to say with absolute certainty that the answer was 5. You’d wonder if you misheard, while also suspecting the teacher might be ill. You’d check with your friends, only to find them just as baffled.

The only way to dispel the feeling of wrongness was to ask again.

“The Maldives? Not Jeju Island?”

“I thought you’d snagged so dirt-cheap, last-minute tickets on a budget airline to Vietnam or sothing,” Yeseul said.

“I’m sorry, but I honestly thought we were taking a boat until we got to the airport,” Seolah confessed.

“Wow. You guys are brutal.”

The Specialists didn’t bother to hide her thoughts. Simin, feeling a little hurt, voiced his displeasure but didn’t argue. If his negotiations had gone poorly, their worries might have actually co true.

But that was only if things had gone poorly. He had worked things out as promised, secured the plane, and picked a destination perfect for a week of rest.

“Tada!”

They stared in awe.

“A private jet?”

“You shook down Kenji again, didn’t you?” Yeseul sighed.

Whatever had happened in the process, the sight of a private jet was enough to make the three of them shake their heads and hurry aboard. They could hear the story of what went down on the plane.

2.

A dark, enclosed room. Soft, luxurious lighting, perfect soundproofing, and high-end whiskey with appetizers laid out on the table.

Two n sat across from each other. One look was enough to tell: one was a rich man practically dripping with money, the other a half-bum in a cheap tracksuit.

The half-bum, Han Simin, spoke first. “Lend

your plane. That resort villa you gave

in the Maldives looks nice, so I was thinking of going for a bit. But I don’t have a plane.”

Kenji remained silent.

’Is that really sothing a man should say after smashing the back of my head and ruining my entire 『Fantastic World』 career just a few days ago?’ Kenji thought, sipping his drink.

This was, without a doubt, the most peculiar human being he had ever t. Was there anyone else in the world who could separate business and personal matters so cleanly it was as if he’d forgotten the difference? Sure, it was “just a ga,” not real life, but it was a ga he had invested an enormous amount of money into, and he had been brought to the brink of collapse in an instant. Had Simin never once considered the grudge a man like that might hold, especially after flying out on his private jet in the middle of the night to see him?

And yet, the first words out of his mouth weren’t an apology, but a demand.

“Pfft—hahaha!”

As expected. He liked this guy.

Even though he had been wrecked, a part of Kenji’s mind always maintained that a ga was just a ga. That was why he had been able to co here. And even though the conversation had taken a bizarre turn right from the start, that didn’t matter either. His conversations with Simin had always started like this.

“Let’s make a trade,” Kenji said. “I’ll lend you the jet in exchange for information about your future plans. I’ll make sure you can use it comfortably for your trip.”

“Oh! I wasn’t even asking you to give it to .”

Kenji wasn’t just thinking about the guild mbers and the people of his kingdom he was responsible for. Crisis ant opportunity, and even in this situation, he was looking for a way to survive. It might have been a pointless endeavor, but Kenji had overco countless crises like this to climb to where he was now.

This choice would not be wrong, either.

“A one-year lease on the jet. You cover all necessary expenses. In exchange, I’ll tell you everything. And since it’s all over anyway, I’ll even promise not to stab you in the back. Deal?”

“Deal.”

“Then I’ll tell you. The thing you’re most curious about—the Main Quest. I’m going to push it to the next stage soon. Dragging it out won’t squeeze any more content from it, and like I said before, I’m sending the Heavenly King back to Heaven. If the Main Quest still doesn’t advance after that, then there’s nothing I can do. Once he’s back, the Heavenly King will probably try to conquer the Demon World first instead of coming straight to the continent. While he’s buying ti with that, I’ll enjoy myself on the continent, and I’ll figure the rest out later. The end. That’s my entire plan. Use it however you want. Have a nice trip in Korea.”

He passed on the information with the certainty that there would be no more variables.

Thanks to that, Kenji was able to ti his move perfectly, joining the Heavenly King the mont he returned to Heaven and earning the honor of being the first person from the continent to arrive there alongside him. Strictly speaking, he was the second after Simin, but since Simin had gone to the Demon World with demons, they could split the “first” title between Heaven and the Demon World, creating a nice rival narrative.

It was perfect content, and the storytelling was wonderfully clean.

The fallen hero’s past.

Throwing himself into danger to rise again.

Then returning later to save the continent from evil.

The entire arc was laid out before him.

Of course, stories like that only worked if they unfolded like a novel. Realistically, no matter how he had managed to follow along, there was no way the Heavenly King would suddenly decide to make so human his successor and hand over all his power. To make that happen, he needed more than a novel-like setup. He needed money.

Kenji spent money and bought information.

He refused to be distracted by the dazzling backdrop of Heaven and stepped forward without hesitation. While the Heavenly King still had even a shred of interest in him, before he beca a useless pawn to be discarded at any mont, Kenji laid all his hidden cards on the table.

“If you’re planning to deal with the Demon World before heading to the continent, I would advise against it.”

The Heavenly King looked at him in confusion.

Little by little, he was becoming more like Han Simin.
