While Shirohige was preparing for the third challenge, he noticed that the scenery was changing.

Unlike the previous sceneries where it was a nightti ocean or a dayti forest clearing, it was an empty realm this ti.

As for why it’s called an empty realm, the space around Shirohige seed to stretch infinitely in all directions, devoid of any defining features or landmarks.

The ground was a smooth, featureless expanse, neither earth nor stone, but sothing in between, with a muted, grayish hue. The sky, if it could be called that, was a uniform expanse of pale, colorless light, giving no indication of day or night.

In the center of this void stood a grand piano, a solitary beacon in the desolate expanse. Shirohige was seated on the piano bench, his fingers poised above the keys.

Before him, a row of audience seats stretched out, reminiscent of a musical theater. The audience seats were mostly empty but a few parts of it were occupied by Weiss and the rest of the team. Their presence sowhat added a bit of life to this desolate world.

The silence was absolute, an oppressive force that seed to absorb even the faintest rustle of clothing or the softest breath. It was as if the very concept of sound had been erased from existence.

This realm, devoid of life and movent, felt like a void, an endless, silent canvas waiting to be filled with the slightest hint of lody.

This was the third challenge, where Shirohige would have to navigate the oppressive silence and find a way to bring harmony and sound back to this desolate expanse, with his music echoing through the emptiness and filling the vacant seats with the essence of life.

"Fortunately, my teammates are still here. Otherwise, this silence would have driven insane if I stayed here long enough."

Shirohige spoke to himself as he looked at Aya and the rest of his teammates’ direction.

However, he soon realized that he couldn’t hear his own voice.

It was not that he had gone deaf or he beca mute, but more like the silence in this desolate expanse had devoured his sound.

Shirohige muttered, "Sigh, even if I’m talking to myself now, it feels like I am thinking while opening my mouth."

As usual, he still couldn’t hear the sound of his own voice and words. The silence in the empty realm was just this oppressive that it had dominion over sound and silence.

Shirohige pondered, "How can I even make a sound that overpowers the silence of this empty realm? In the first challenge, I learned how to make my sound more combative. In the second challenge, I realized that I can use my sound to neutralize powerful forces and affect the natural laws."

"But now, I have to create a sound that breaks through the silence in this empty realm."

"From what the challenge told , I need to create a perfect sound that transcends the concept of silence and emptiness."

When Shirohige realized that, he complained, "Fuck, if I can do this, why would I even need the Music Authority in the first place?"

"Wait, or more like, I feel like I’m slowly obtaining partial rights for the Music Authority with every challenge I complete. No matter how talented and good I am in music, it’s impossible for it to be that good to the point that I could combat a siren’s song and neutralize natural disasters."

"So it’s likely that whenever I perform my music, I’ll obtain partial rights to the Music Authority. The challenge is more of a test of whether I’m worthy to use the Music Authority and it still allows to partially use so of its authorities despite not permanently owning it."

After that realization, Shirohige no longer felt that the challenge was impossible.

Reflecting on how he fared well before, Shirohige knew that with how he completed the two challenges, he should have obtained a decent share of the Music Authority. As long as he completed the third challenge, he’d obtain the complete share of the Music Authority and it would be permanently held by him until he died.

But if he failed, then not only would his senses be removed, but also the partial shares of the Music Authority that he currently held.

Knowing that this challenge wasn’t as impossible as he thought it would, Shirohige decided to try and create the so-called "perfect sound".

Shirohige pressed the piano keys with his fingers but as usual, it wouldn’t make a sound. Or even if it did, the sound might have been overwheld by the silence in the empty realm so it couldn’t be heard.

Frustration consud him as he tried one technique after another, hoping for even the faintest sound from the piano. Soft lodies, delicate as whispers, lted into the oppressive silence. It was swallowed whole by the emptiness around him.

With growing desperation, he pounded the keys, each strike a futile attempt to shatter the suffocating silence.

Shirohige closed his eyes, letting his fingers find their way across the piano keys with ease. He poured his soul into the music, willing it to penetrate the void that enveloped him, to break through the stillness and fill the empty realm with life.

Shirohige played for several minutes. Or it might even be an hour or so. They lost the concept of ti since they didn’t have any ti indicators.

Then, a miracle happened: a single note pierced the silence, pure and crisp, a beacon of hope in the darkness.

With newfound confidence, he pressed onward, each note adding to the one before it until they lded into a symphony of sound. The lody grew, filling the void with its lively resonance and energy.

It was a perfect sound, a lody that transcended the boundaries of the empty realm.

With each chord, Shirohige felt the very fabric of the space tremble, responding to the music’s call. Slowly, imperceptibly, the silence began to retreat, yielding to the stirring symphony of life that flowed from his fingertips.

Soon enough, the gray-like hue that perated the empty realm beca more vibrant as if colors were splashed onto it.

Shirohige successfully used his music to bring sound to a silent realm, painting its vibrant hues to a once-empty world!

With a sigh of relief, Shirohige exclaid, "I have completed the third challenge!"
