The entire area was filled with massive pillars, and each of these pillars was being used as a house. The people of this place seed to have carved out the golden pillars and turned them into functional buildings, Vale couldn’t help but marvel at this.
"Fascinating, Right?" Agul said with more than a hint of pride in his voice.
Vale nodded; even if he wanted to deny it, he just couldn’t. Such innovation would have taken hundreds of years to complete.
It also made Vale wonder just how many years ago his vision had occurred, although that was also accommodating the scenario that what he had seen had elents of truth.
"The place was like this long before I beca a mber of the tribe," Agul said, as if reading Vale’s thoughts.
Vale raised a brow. "Long before you beca a mber or long before you were born."
Vale had naturally assud he was born into the tribe.
Agul chuckled. "Isn’t it the sa thing, brother?"
When Vale thought about it, it was indeed the sa thing. Another thing that bothered him was the way Agul called him brother, after all, they weren’t that close. Vale shook his head, deciding not to think too much about it.
Vale then rembered sothing and turned to the sand beneath his feet.
"The sand worms can’t reach here?"
"Yes, we are blessed to be under divine protection."
Vale thought for a while and wondered if it was a result of the remnant aura of the attack he had seen. That would indeed be a valid explanation.
"This way." Agul brought him out of thought. "Your won should already be at the house. Although, I’ll much advise that you don’t participate in any... intense activities with them."
Agul then winked at him with a knowing smile on his lips.
Vale’s eyes twitched. If he tried anything with Roxy then that was the sa as asking for death. As for Rein, she was more of his little sister to him.
He wondered how she was doing though. The fact that he hadn’t received any punishnt from the contract probably ant she was fine so he decided not to overthink it.
He followed closely behind Agul as they navigated between pillars, the pillars were mostly identical, although going deeper and the designs seed a bit more intricate.
The pillars were over thirty ters tall, so it was possible to fit two floors in a single pillar.
Not long after, they got to the building that had been designated for them. Agul pointed at it and said, "Big-breasted sister and small-breasted sister should be inside. Soone will bring sothing for you to eat in case the night drags on too long."
Watching Agul walk away, Vale could help but wonder if Roxy’s boobs were that big. To be honest, he hadn’t noticed it, and he’d probably continue remaining oblivious if Agul hadn’t brought it up.
He shook the dirty thoughts out of his head and entered through the door. It felt strange walking into a pillar that was probably so ancient deity’s attack, but he wasn’t going to say no to free accommodation.
This particular pillar was divided into two floors. The bottom floor had a kitchen, a dining area, and a living area.
The pillars were so large that they could conveniently contain all these. Even at night, the interior glowed with a golden radiance that made one wonder if this was truly a primitive tribe or a luxury setting.
The bottom floor was empty, and the furniture was made of straw and covered in leaves; the craftsmanship was also spectacular.
There was a ladder in the corner leading into a hole carved into the ceiling. It most definitely led to the top floor.
Vale climbed up and imdiately saw the others.
The top area was just a large room with a portion carved out to act as a bathroom.
Rein was lying on the large bed on the far end of the room, while Roxy was sitting on the floor and... ditating. At least that was what it looked like. Gazing at her with an odd intensity, he realised what Prompted Agul to call her big breasted sister, they were indeed quite big.
She noticed Vale and opened her eyes. There was a slight frown hidden in those crimson pupils.
"You’re completely healed."
Vale didn’t know if that was a question or an observation so he just nodded.
"They said they could heal you. Looks like they weren’t lying."
"Yeah, from what I’ve seen they seem like nice—"
"I don’t like them," Roxy said, cutting him off.
He raised a brow, prompting her to continue.
"Sothing about them just irks out. Besides, they aren’t even humans."
Vale looked at her contentiously; he hadn’t expected to find a non-human beefing with other non-hunans for not being humans.
She seed to realise what he was thinking as her face turned red from embarrassnt as she looked away.
There was a short silence, before she added. "I think it’s their third eye, it’s creepy."
Vale could agree with that, he had indeed been creeped out by the first few minutes of talking with Agul. But he had slowly gotten over that repulsiveness.
"We aren’t going to stay here for long. When Rein wakes up and we completely recover we’ll start moving."
His words weren’t just to comfort Roxy, he felt quite disturbed, and it wasn’t just here. The whole prison realm seed to put him on edge causing him to want to leave as quickly as possible. They couldn’t afford to stop moving.
Roxy went back to ditation and Vale sorted his belongings that had been placed on the table. When he noticed that one mana stone was gone he couldn’t help but grimace, looking over to Roxy.
Still, he wasn’t going to fault her. Unlike them, she would die if she ran out of mana.
This last mana stone was now his most important belonging.
With nothing to do, he was reminded of the image he had received on the battlefield. Back then, he hadn’t been so enthusiastic to check it out, but now that death wasn’t pressing on him, it was ti to check his gains.
