In front of him, on the pitch-black stone, a creature was vividly carved.
It stood about two ters tall, with its entire body covered in scales. It had strong powerful hind limbs with bird-like horned five claws, and a pair of broad wings on its back;
Looking at its rather horrifying head, a grayish-yellow long beak like a huge knife took up most of the space, and in its slender eye sockets were vertical pupils like those of snakes and lizards!
Most strikingly, extending crazily around from the back of its head were nurous irregular tentacles!
It was a chira of lizard and bird, representing slaughter and madness!
"Monster Winged Dragon! Why is this thing here?"
Lin Yue couldn’t help but gasp, even involuntarily stepping back.
The statue before him was undoubtedly a Monster Winged Dragon. If others might mistake it, Lin Yue would never mistake it.
In the Secret Realm, from the first ti seeing this creature to the last ti leaving, he had been dealing with these things.
He even managed to kill four of them and plucked the feathers off their bodies.
Having had many close encounters with this creature, he was extrely familiar with their appearance.
However, the odd thing was here.
If it were anything else, even if the statue of a Tiger-striped Shadow Deer appeared here, he wouldn’t be so surprised.
The Monster Winged Dragon was a predator surviving in the Secret Realm, presumably after dozens of years on Earth, and was absolutely not sothing that should exist in this Otherworld’s Underground Ruins, sculpted as a statue by those Lizardn, right?
Moreover.
Many parts of this statue had been rubbed to an extrely smooth state, as if coated with a layer of grease, indicating it had been sculpted a long ti ago.
Lin Yue looked again at the feet of the statue and discovered three bowl-shaped trays, also seemingly polluted by sothing, black and red in color.
He then looked at the sides of the statue and saw two large jars, each taller than a person.
Alongside them, there were four smaller sealed jars.
A strange fragrance he had slled before wafted from these jars.
The more Lin Yue thought about it, the stranger it seed.
This should be a monster from the Secret Realm, so how could it be sculpted into a statue in this Otherworld’s Underground Ruins, seemingly... being worshiped, made into a statue?
What on earth was going on?
"Puchi! Puchi!"
Just as Lin Yue pondered, Bai suddenly sounded an alert!
"Bai?" Lin Yue looked up abruptly. Were enemies coming?
"Puchi!" Bai shouted toward the direction of the main door, indicating the imminent danger!
Lin Yue quickly spotted the upper left corner of this massive space and rushed there at the fastest speed, pulling all the torches nearby into his Storage Space!
Simultaneously, he promptly set up a stone wall, directly locking it in this corner, completely enclosing himself and Bai in this triangular space, completely undetectable from the outside.
The stone wall was about three ters high. Lin Yue looked up and found there was still about a ter of distance between the top of the wall and the ceiling above. Though it wasn’t completely covered by a lid, in this torchless corner, it should be safe enough.
Lin Yue placed a wooden ladder against the stone wall, and Bai also sprang up, exposing half of its head along with him, gazing toward the direction of the main door.
It wasn’t long before chaotic footsteps and strange voices could be heard, and the wooden door was simultaneously opened!
Dressed in crude armor and tattered clothing, the dark green Lizardn carrying stone spears arrogantly appeared in view.
Why co to this space at this ti?
As ti passed, the influx of Lizardn continued to increase, and so of them were even carrying sack-like things, which they threw onto the very center of a circular platform.
There were six sacks in total, and from their shape... it seed like they contained humans?
What were they going to do?
Lin Yue observed carefully, simultaneously aligning the sighting scope of his Steel Repeating Crossbow in that direction.
The Lizardn kept entering, filling the vast space with their grating voices.
However, as a tall Lizardman clad in white cloth, holding a small jar, entered, the wooden door was again closed.
All the Lizardn gathered near the circular platform in the middle, with none approaching the edges or surveying around.
Lin Yue realized he was in luck; thus, none had discovered him perched on the wall in the corner, observing the strange acts of these Lizardn.
"Sa! Sa!"
Suddenly, the white-clad Lizardman shouted, and the other Lizardn surrounding the circular platform opened the sacks one by one, revealing humans inside as Lin Yue saw through the sighting scope!
As he marveled, those people—whether dead or alive—were arranged by the Lizardn in a circle with their heads facing outward atop the circular platform. The white-clad Lizardman then placed the jar at the very center.
Following this, as the white-clad Lizardman raised its arms, the Lizardn surrounding the platform each lifted an axe high!
"Sa! Sa! Sa!"
As the white-clad Lizardman bellowed, all the axes fell simultaneously!
Blood splattered onto the platform.
Lin Yue finally understood what the dark red stains on the central platform were.
Afterward, the white-clad Lizardman lifted the jar, muttering sothing, then jumped off the platform and headed straight for the Monster Winged Dragon statue, a few Lizardn behind piling the severed heads in front of the statue.
This bizarre and wicked ceremony continued for quite a while before the white-clad Lizardman departed, followed by the gradual departure of the other Lizardn.
After an excruciatingly long ti, this grotesque act finally ended.
Lin Yue slled the bloody stench lingering in the space, feeling as though the scenes were like a nightmare.
"Puchi!"
Just as Lin Yue was about to leave and return to the Shelter as soon as possible, Bai suddenly called out again.
The wooden door opened once more, and this ti the white-clad tall Lizardman entered again!
It walked straight to the platform, yet no other Lizardn followed.
Then, it seed to rummage through the bodies, presumably taking sothing like a necklace.
However, afterward, it went again to the statue, muttering bizarre, unpleasant things continuously.
Lin Yue listened to the oppressive murmuring, unsure how much longer this ritual would last.
Yet at this mont, Bai suddenly transford into a beam of white light, heading straight towards the Lizardman!
Lin Yue responded instantly, aiming his Steel Repeating Crossbow at the white-clad Lizardman’s location!
As a burst of white mist suddenly erupted, Lin Yue’s crossbow arrows were fired shot after shot!
