Coming down from the wall, Lin Yue did not open fire proactively.

With his current outfit and scent, the Lizardn could not possibly detect him in this pitch-black night.

A re few hundred Lizardn were nothing to fear; if Bai took action, there wouldn’t be a whole corpse left of them.

This was not his battlefield.

Lin Yue climbed onto Bai’s back.

The task tonight was not to stay ho guarding against these Lizardn stragglers but to explore the mining location and investigate the situation over there thoroughly.

After all, regardless of what the Lizardn and the beggars extracted, the site was worth checking out first.

Moreover, Lin Yue also had a premonition.

Those white things might just be the minerals he had been searching for, yet never found, over the past few days.

Bai powerfully flapped its wide wings, soaring into the night sky, heading straight eastward.

Tonight, again, there was no moon.

The dragon extended its wings, the wind howling past Lin Yue’s ears.

He looked down at the hazy ground. The faint starlight couldn’t penetrate this darkness, and the entire world seed to be shrouded in shadow.

However, this didn’t affect Bai’s flight path; it seed to know perfectly well which direction to fly in, undeterred by the endless darkness.

It had to be said, the scent of Lizardn blood and sweat was incredibly effective; mutant creatures in the air approached but quickly flew away again, as if afraid to co near Bai.

It didn’t take long before Lin Yue, wearing the full-color military night vision device to see the ground clearly, realized they were nearing their destination.

Bai quickly descended and began to circle, finally landing directly next to the woods where they had landed during the day.

About a kiloter away, the location was quite suitable.

Lin Yue jumped off the dragon’s back, adjusting the full-color night vision device on his head.

In the grass beneath his feet, unknown insects scattered in all directions due to their arrival. Lin Yue looked up into the distance, observing as Lizardn continued to patrol the fortress wall, though far fewer than during the day, now sparse.

"Bai, stay here and don’t move. I’ll go take a closer look and return shortly."

"Roar," Bai responded.

After giving Bai instructions, Lin Yue crouched down and quickly darted forward.

In this dark night, with the scent of Lizardn about him, he would not be disturbed by mutant creatures. And his Light-Dissolving Nightwear Set absorbed all light, turning Lin Yue into a walker in the night, an assassin undetectable.

In the full-color night vision device, Lin Yue didn’t completely miss the Lizardn scattered in the wild.

In fact, when he was a hundred ters from the fortress wall, quite a few Lizardn were visible.

A patrol team of twenty, led by a captain holding a torch while others carried tal spears, occasionally approached from the distance and then moved off in other directions.

Even if he accidentally ran into them, Lin Yue only had to squat down and quietly wait for them to pass.

Taking them out wasn’t feasible and would easily raise an alarm, given the proximity to the place—any noise made here certainly wouldn’t escape the notice of the patrolling Lizardn at night.

Lin Yue waited for the Lizardn patrol to move away before continuing forward.

Soon, he was standing on the broken stones, at the base of the massive fortress.

"If I want to get inside, Bai would be too conspicuous. If I’m going in... it seems I’ll have to sneak in."

He glanced around, using stones from the Storage Space to build a five-ter-high wall at the nearest spot. If the Lizardn had powerful flashlights or spotlights, this wall would be discovered imdiately for its obviousness.

But, unfortunately, they were bereft of electricity, only able to carry torches.

Lin Yue set up a ladder between the two walls, soon climbing up to the five-ter wall top.

The height here was a couple of ters higher than the wall. Lin Yue lay flat on the wall, not making any hasty moves.

Every thirty ters or so along the wall, a torch provided illumination. There were so Lizardn pacing back and forth, though not many. But if he was spotted due to impatience, that would be a disaster.

In Lin Yue’s night vision, two Lizardn were nearby on either side, seemingly walking toward each other. They would likely turn around and continue patrolling right after eting.

He waited for a mont, as the two Lizardn on the left approached, while those on the right weren’t far off either. After a brief eting, the pair on the right turned and left, but those on the left stayed!

Good grief, what’s going on?

Lin Yue was puzzled to see the two Lizardn over there chatting away.

Emmmm...

He thought it over, looking left—no Lizardn were present there, and those on the right had moved away.

So, to make no noise, there seed to be only one option.

Take them out!

If he wanted to silently move down from the wall here, he’d have to eliminate the two Lizardn who were only seven or eight ters away; there was no other choice.

As for the thod...

A silenced gun seed the safest. The wall wasn’t completely quiet anyway; there were always so mutant creatures casually bumping into the wall, plus endless howls and roars echoing all around, differing only in volu.

Lin Yue took out the ladder, setting it between the two walls, then rushed up at maximum speed, stowing the ladder back into the Storage Space.

Like a wisp of black mist, he crouched low, inching closer to the Lizardman with its back to him on the wall.

Seven ters, five ters, four ters...

Lin Yue drew out the Sniper Rifle!

Among all his weapons, only its bullets had the greatest penetrative power!

Though using a sniper at point-blank range seed rather unconventional.

But to retrieve the corpse imdiately, he had no choice.

Lin Yue lifted the sniper rifle, placing his hand on the trigger.

He slowly rose, moving as cautiously as possible, finally aiming the gun at the back of the Lizardman’s head.

In the deep night, moonless, with the nearest torch over ten ters away.

Wearing the almost light-absorbing Light-Dissolving Nightwear Set, Lin Yue was confident; even if a Lizardman was within ten ters behind him, looking this way, it wouldn’t detect anything!

Lin Yue saw the Lizardn on the right side had completely vanished from sight, aning it was ti to act.

And just at that mont, a low growl sounded nearby!

Perfect timing!

The sniper rifle fired a bullet instantly, piercing into the Lizardman’s skull!

Lin Yue didn’t hesitate, imdiately firing another shot at the eye socket of the other Lizardman that hadn’t reacted yet!

Instantly dead, they, along with two Copper Treasure Chests, were swiftly collected into Lin Yue’s Storage Space!

This sequence of actions was smooth and efficient. Afterward, he quickly put away the sniper gun and took out a climbing rope, fastening it to a protrusion on the wall.

He then swiftly descended the rope to the ground inside the wall.

As soon as he landed, he used the system identification function on a piece of white mineral fragnt beside him.

Soon, he got the answer as well!

"As expected... it really is it!"
