"Sa! Sa!"
A series of rhythmic, hoarse growls echoed in the passage, and Lin Yue reacted almost instantly, quickly switching to the Alloy Compound Crossbow and stringing the Crossbow Arrow.
He had anticipated the appearance of Lizardn, but he hadn’t expected to encounter them so soon.
"Gawu..." Bai extended its arm, blocking Lin Yue and shaking its head, signaling him not to act rashly.
"Bai, aren’t they coming this way?" Lin Yue felt a chill down his spine as he listened to the growls. Just how many were there?
"Gawu." Bai nodded gently. anwhile, Little ng climbed onto its shoulder, communicated briefly, and then settled near Lin Yue’s feet, seemingly uninterested in going out to battle.
Lin Yue felt much more relaxed, though he didn’t lower the Compound Crossbow.
If they weren’t coming for him and Bai, were they rely passing by?
Passing by... heading to the altar, perhaps, or returning? Driven by curiosity, Lin Yue kept shifting his position, gradually moving closer to the cave entrance.
The closer he got, the more distinct the footsteps and growls of the Lizardn beca.
Bai and Little ng followed closely, cautiously approaching the entrance too, trying to make as little noise as possible.
Finally nearing the cave entrance, where faint light seeped through so passages, Lin Yue raised his Sighting Scope again, looking in that direction.
"Sa! Sa!" The Lizardn’s growls, accompanied by a whispering sound like murmurs, continued to perate his ears, growing louder and louder.
Soon, Lin Yue spotted the profile of a Lizardman clad in a black robe through his scope, seemingly arriving from a direction he hadn’t explored.
It carried a wooden staff that flashed briefly, followed by a Lizardman troop, clad in Wooden Armor but wielding torches, passing through continuously.
There were also so Lizardn carrying dark lumps, though not in great numbers.
Watching the seemingly endless stream of Lizardn flash by the cave entrance, Lin Yue was secretly startled.
How many could there be? Why so many!
The number of enemies exceeded his expectations.
The last ti he saw so many was at the altar.
The leading Lizardman, like the ones slain before, was a Priest. Could it be they were heading for the altar again?
The Lizardn gang eventually vanished at the cave entrance, their footsteps gradually fading away.
"Gawu." Bai and Little ng moved to the cave entrance, signaling Lin Yue that it was safe.
"Gone..." Lin Yue turned back to glance at the corpse nearby once more.
It wasn’t long until the disaster officially began.
Even though he had issued a warning, quite a few would think he had ulterior motives or undisclosed secrets, dissuading them from treading this "cheat-like" path to the Lizardman-infested Underground Ruins.
Regarding the corpse, Lin Yue had a theory.
This person was probably severely wounded by other Survivors and happened to stumble here, eventually succumbing due to excessive blood loss as Lin Yue arrived.
The dagger alone proved this.
In the Underground Ruins, there were no sturdy Shelters to evade malicious attacks, only sinister individuals, countless Lizardn, and unknown numbers of bizarre mutated creatures.
This place seed even harsher than the surface.
Lin Yue exited the cave, returning the Tactical Crossbow to Storage Space, and fetched the M19 Pistol.
Initially, one purpose of this trip was to acquire so minerals and leave, but that plan had now fallen through, necessitating the next step.
Though so many Lizardn had passed by, Lin Yue wasn’t discouraged.
In this passage, if he wished, he could easily catch up with the Lizardn and have Bai emit a wave of freezing mist before erecting a high wall, utilizing the M19, Alloy Tactical Crossbow, or even Sniper Rifle for a fierce battle...
Why not?
It has been ages since he’d gotten a Copper Treasure Chest, and Lin Yue felt sothing was lacking.
Moreover, he was curious about the dark lumps those Lizardn were carrying. ’’

A surge of battle intent suddenly ignited within Lin Yue.
At this mont, he was excellently equipped, both in offense and defense, reaching an extre. With evolved Bai and courageously fighting Little ng nearby...

Lin Yue picked up the L115A3 Sniper Rifle, eyes fixated through the Sighting Scope at the shadows of Lizardn with sinister heads!
"Isn’t this a perfect opportunity to practice shooting? What are you waiting for? Do it!"
Lin Yue couldn’t help but roar!
Using a stone for support, his finger lightly pulled the trigger!
Bang!
The swiftly speeding bullet shot from the barrel, cutting through the air at an initial speed of 936 ters per second, effortlessly exploding the head of the Lizardman at the rear!
Effect, explosive!

The Lizardn remained oblivious, not responding as their second companion, third companion, fourth companion, fifth companion all had their heads consecutively blown!
