Chapter 555: Chapter 555: The Complete Rise of the Southern Territory
Hu Lan remained composed as he spoke to the others, “Indeed, I have failed. I didn’t expect their strength to be so formidable.” There weren’t many people present, and so were watching through a special magic image transmission.
In the Empire, there were not many demigods, so their relationships were closer than that of superiors and subordinates. They were more like friends, and so were even related by blood.
Hu Lan spoke quite casually, even in the presence of outsiders.
Those outsiders were mbers of the Royal Family and high-ranking officials of the Empire, who would not casually disclose anything from this eting.
“They actually failed? What’s the specific situation in the South?”
“Originally, I had located their Main Territory, which was an Undead Territory. I planned to find their Lord and eliminate them, hoping to throw them into chaos.”
The crowd nodded, agreeing that they would likely have chosen a similar strategy.
“But I’m afraid I targeted the wrong location; it was only disguised as their Main Territory. Their Lord was not there.”
“Although I made so probes, I discovered that they had over a thousand forces of Legendary Level, but no demigod presence.” Over a thousand at Legendary Level was certainly no small number.
The Empire officials listening to this were visibly shocked.
They were not at the level of demigods, and even among officials, very few had reached the Legendary Level. These rankings had never seed so devalued before, posing a serious threat to the Empire.
“Why didn’t you kill them? With your strength, you could have done it by making a few trips.”
“I said I didn’t encounter their demigod, but that doesn’t an there weren’t any. I was about to do just that when their Demigod Expert appeared, soone with strength comparable to mine.”
“A demigod? Now that really is troubleso,” murmured the others, frowning at the news.
“That’s not all; soon after, another one showed up, with an aura far stronger than mine. And their Lord didn’t even show up.”
“The Lord didn’t show up? That ans they have at least three demigods, or maybe even more. This is problematic; we must consider our relations with them, or we risk making new enemies.”
To the North were Demons, to the West were Elves, and although these were distant encounters, now the Western sea and the Southern Continent were dominated by the Undead. If they beca enemies, it would be a considerable nuisance.
But if they beca friends, they would serve as a barrier against the Elves.
“There are many races in the Southern Territory, and not just the Undead, but they are united. The Undead lead and control all races. I observe their developnt model and see that they are a moderate faction among the Undead.”
“However, they haven’t established an Empire but rather call themselves by their Territories.”
“That doesn’t matter much. Many Lords with their own territories prefer to use the term ‘Territory’ for themselves, as it seems more fitting.”
They were clear on this point; it was after all just a title, and not that significant.
“It seems the Southern Territory has truly risen. We should not beco hostile towards them. There has also been no direct conflict in the past. Moving forward, we should start with diplomacy and then trade, to slowly understand them better.”
A Foxman interjected, “Leave this matter to us; we’ll handle it well.”
Foxn were famously known as the wise among the Beastn, and often even more intelligent than most Humans.
Regrettably, their race had never produced a demigod, or else their standing would not be so low. Those who could produce demigods were the Royal Family, capable of taking turns assuming the role of Empire King.
Before long, the Black Fla Elf demigod returned to the Empire with Emily.
The Elves valued their population, as it was smaller, and they did not simply return to their own duties. Once back in the Empire, several of them took the Teleportation Array directly to the Royal Capital.
The Royal Capital of the Black Fla Empire was situated on a black plain, where the plant life, completely black, differed starkly from ordinary flora.
“I didn’t reveal myself. Hu Lan was the one who appeared, but Hu Lan was forced to retreat, and I was discovered as well.”
As soon as the elven powerhouses returned, they shared their experiences with the others.
The Elves had more powerful figures, but the number of demigods among them was similar to that of the Beastn. With a smaller population base, after all, becoming a demigod was not sothing that could be achieved through Cultivation alone.
“It’s incredible to think they have grown to this extent.”
“I tend to believe they always had this strength but kept it hidden. We all know of the Undead’s speed of Cultivation; that Lord who appeared publicly might just be a front.”
“That makes sense. In such a short ti, even if they had the innate ability of the Lord’s Cottage, they couldn’t have produced a demigod.”
That was the normal situation that everyone agreed upon; demigods were not as common as cabbages.
For so many years on their side, they had only a few demigods. Apart from those who had passed away, the rest were here. And even the Demons to the North, in reality, didn’t have many demigods of their own.
While demigods might occasionally beco involved or even intervene in battles, life-and-death struggles were rare.
At that level, determining victory or defeat was no easy feat. If one could not kill the opponent instantly, one would have to wait for their reinforcents, which could easily spiral into a major battle.
Neither Elves nor Demons wished for an all-out war at such tis.
“If that’s the case, then it’s possible that there’s another Lord hidden behind those Undead, an old monster who has lived for an unknown length of ti. We mustn’t underestimate them.”
Elves had long lifespans, but the Undead’s were even longer, almost eternal.
While not as exaggerated as demigods, they lived far beyond normal beings, which is why so many desired to beco Undead.
But the thought of such a powerful entity lurking in the shadows, accumulating strength for untold years, gave them a headache. “Ah, let’s hope these Undead are not like the Demons.”
Those Demons were maniacs, constantly attacking. If the Undead were the sa, it would be a disaster for them.
“That likely won’t be the case; they co from a more moderate faction. Otherwise, they wouldn’t permit so many other species to survive. Their various systems are well established and genuine.”
“Leaning towards order, are they? That’s promising. Perhaps we could guide them more towards the Beastn.”
“The Lord that appears officially in public, the Lord’s wife, is a Forest Elf. Perhaps we can think of sothing there,” Emily suddenly suggested with an idea.
