Chapter 219: Chapter 198: The Hunting Mont
The Ridgeback Tortoise, like a fully powered tank, sped towards its target with all its might.
With every step it took, the ground shook, as if a small earthquake had been triggered.
However, sitting atop the tortoise’s bald head, Zi Liyuan felt not a single bump; instead, everything was remarkably smooth.
“This is way more powerful than a top-tier sports car.”
As he observed adventurers along the road quickly dodging to the side, their eyes filled with awe at the colossal size of the old tortoise, Lord Zi finally experienced the thrill of racing a premium sports car.
With the old tortoise as his steed, their progress was rapid, charging straight ahead, and along the way, any obstructing rocks or trees were smashed to pieces.
Guided by the jade token which provided real-ti coordinates, they quickly traversed a hundred miles and neared the target cave.
Zi Liyuan raised his magic wand and summoned twenty Vulture Skeletons to fly out and scout the surroundings.
Then ca the true entrance of the undead legion.
This ti, Zi Liyuan did not imdiately summon Skeletons or Zombies. Instead, a group of Wraith Mages erged from the summoning array.
Looking at these Wraith Mages clad in black cloaks and adorned with mage circlets, a smile involuntarily appeared at the corner of Zi Liyuan’s mouth.
Next, it was the Skeletons and Zombies’ turn to enter.
Over two thousand Skeletons were summoned in one go, and as soon as these Skeletons stepped out of the summoning array, Zi Liyuan imdiately severed the soul connection between them.
The Elite Skeletons instantly changed from summoned creatures to wild monsters, and the previously orderly formation beca chaotic in an instant.
But before these Skeletons could rebel, several Wraith Mages wielding bone magic wands released a fog imbued with the Power of Death.
Every Skeleton enshrouded by the fog cald down and reassembled into battle formations, respectfully awaiting the Wraith Mages’ commands.
“Enslavent magic, no wonder Wraith Mages can command thousands of undead creatures.”
Watching the fog ford by the Power of Death, Zi Liyuan realized that once it touched an undead, it imdiately corroded their soul fla, enslaving them to the Wraith Mages.
Zi Liyuan finally understood how Wraith Mages were able to command the undead in battle.
However, he was unconcerned and instead summoned an army of Zombies once again.
Usually, he would summon a group of Zombie bosses, then let the zombies infect corpses which were then controlled by the bosses.
This ti it was much simpler; a single magic spell and thousands of Zombies stepped out from the summoning array.
Then, just as before, he severed the soul connection between them, turning these Zombies into wild monsters.
The next mont, they were enveloped by the fog released by the Wraith Mages, their soul flas enslaved, making them obediently follow orders.
With the Wraith Mages controlling the Skeleton and Zombie legions, the burden on Zi Liyuan was imasurably lightened.
No longer did he have to worry about insufficient Soul Value restricting the number of his summons.
At that mont, launching an Undead Tide needed only a few more summons of Undead Sorceresses. Afterwards, he could relentlessly summon Skeletons and Zombies to unleash a terrifying wave of undead.
“Minions, sweep through this territory. Anyone who resists, kill without rcy!”
The mission’s target had the assistance of a small squad of a hundred mbers, so those arriving in this area were most likely allied with them.
Adhering to the principle of better killing the wrong one than sparing an enemy, Lord Zi issued the killing order.
Then, a frenzy of slaughtering began throughout the region; any living creature encountering the Undead t a violent end.
However, such forceful map-clearing tactics naturally caught the attention of the mbers of the Heretical Sect.
Even before Zi Liyuan could lead his Undead Legion close to the cave area, they ca under a barrage of attacks.
Adventurers, after all, are not dungeon monsters constrained by rules; they aren’t going to stupidly wait for you to make your move.
Seeing the Undead Legion rampage through the forest unchallenged, mbers of the Heretical Sect unleashed their AOE attacks, each aid at massive area clearance.
Firestorms, tempests, barrages of arrows… a succession of AOE abilities rained down, instantly clearing a large number of Elite Skeletons and a good portion of Zombie cannon fodder.
But the loss of a few hundred expendable troops was a trivial matter for Zi Liyuan.
A casual summoning could easily replenish thousands, and thus, as he pushed toward the Heretical Sect mbers, the Undead Legion only grew in strength.
Focusing on besieging them with a vast army of Undead, if he couldn’t kill these adventurers, he would at least exhaust them, make them uncomfortable, and unsettle their spirits.
And through the Vulture Skeletons flying high above, Zi Liyuan was able to lock onto quite a few people’s locations even before they entered the range of his soul detection.
Without any ado, he summoned Lao Tie, the Spider Queen, and the Demon Spiders, his three super combatants and set them loose with a grand gesture.
With the Vulture Skeletons leading the way and the Undead Legion covering them amidst the dense trees,
Lao Tie, the smallest in size, stealthily made his way behind a person and then suddenly struck out, revealing terrifying fangs.
The spikes in his fists turned into two cold streaks of light, stabbing one on each side through the back of an adventurer, punching two see-through, gaping holes and literally giving him a chilling blow to the heart.
A literal blow to the heart as the adventurer’s heart was casually sliced out through the transparent holes in his chest, flying in a loop before dropping into the bushes.
But in a world invaded by a ga, as long as one’s life value isn’t completely depleted, they cannot die.
