Chapter 72: Chapter 72: Entering the Simulation, Building the Gate of Truth
[Chrono-Corrosion initiated. Player Consciousness Descent on Ga Inference Day.]
Lying on his bed, an image of a tattered page from the Book of Truth flashed through Lince’s mind. With a re thought, his body went completely limp.
On the eastern side of the Swamp Territory, atop the Magic Crystal Ore at the center of the original swamp.
A Giant Dragon, lying prone as if hibernating, suddenly snapped its eyes open.
’I’m in?’
Lince slowly controlled the Giant Dragon’s body to stand up. He shook its head back and forth, completely dispelling the creature’s drowsiness.
Gazing upon the silent surroundings and the distant forests patrolled by wolf packs, Lince’s spirit sharpened.
’Alright, it’s ti to get to work, just as planned.’
Then, with a flicker of Lince’s will, the Unihorned Demon Bear and the Shadow Wind Giant Eagle, far away in the Demon Beast Mountain Range, both felt the summons through their Blood Covenant.
The next mont.
The Unihorned Demon Bear excitedly began to lead its clan toward the Swamp Territory.
anwhile, on a cliff face, a hint of confusion flickered through the Shadow Wind Giant Eagle. Nevertheless, it let out a loud cry, summoning its Bloodline eagle flock. It then led them in low-flying formation, soaring swiftly toward the location it sensed.
At the sa ti, thirty kiloters from the Swamp Territory, the Forest Wolf also felt Lince’s call and abruptly rose to its feet.
Its sharp gaze swept over the two Entry Tier flying beasts by its side.
A low-pitched howl sounded, and the two Entry Tier flying beasts exchanged a bewildered glance.
However, their confusion was fleeting.
The next mont, the two Entry Tier flying beasts shot into the sky.
One flew east, the other west.
As ’Commanders’, these two flying beasts stationed with the Forest Wolf were acting as ssengers.
As the flying beasts streaked across the Deserted Wildernesses to the east and west, the Entry Tier Demon Lords in the Earth Realms they passed over were all roused.
As if they understood sothing, they imdiately set off toward the Swamp Territory, their hearts filled with fear and apprehension.
Of course, these Entry Tier Demon Beasts did not bring their clans with them.
This was because, from the very beginning, the Master of the Demon Dragon had issued two sets of commands.
The first command: when the avian ssengers delivered the signal with short, rapid calls, it was an order for the Lord Tier Demon Beasts to travel alone to the Master of the Demon Dragon’s domain and await orders.
The second command: when the avian ssengers delivered the signal with long, sharp shrieks, that was the signal for a large-scale mobilization of all Demon Beasts.
Knowing the Demon Dragon’s power and having personally felt the oppressive might of a high-ranking species, these Entry Tier Demon Beasts did not dare to forget the signals.
So, as the two flying beasts cried out while flying east and west over countless Deserted Forests, all the Entry Tier Demon Beasts of the Deserted Wilderness imdiately took off, either by sprinting or by taking to the sky.
anwhile, Lince, the Master of the Demon Dragon who had summoned all these Entry Tier Demon Beasts, had already taken to the sky, each of his two Dragon Claws clutching a large handful of unpolished Middle Tier Magic Crystals.
The Giant Dragon soared into the air and headed toward the side of the Swamp Territory that faced the Demon Beast Mountain Range.
The Rock Steel Giant Dragon finally landed on a small hill about fifty kiloters away from the Swamp Territory.
This was the designated eting point for the Forest Wolf and all the subordinate Entry Tier Demon Beasts.
The hill wasn’t particularly high, but it was over a hundred ters tall.
When he arrived, the Forest Wolf was already the first to be there, waiting with its pack.
Upon seeing the Rock Steel Giant Dragon land on the hill, the Forest Wolf imdiately let out a howl and led its entire pack to prostrate themselves on the ground.
The Forest Wolf’s eyes showed a look of worship, while Lince gave a slight nod of his draconic head to show his satisfaction.
Then, Lince looked up at the sky.
At that mont, Entry Tier flying beasts were already arriving in the sky, led by the Tier Five Shadow Wind Giant Eagle and its thirty-plus descendants.
At the sa ti, Lince could also see small, dark specks of flying beasts approaching from different directions across the horizon.
A look of satisfaction appeared in Lince’s eyes.
After the Shadow Wind Giant Eagle arrived, it called out "My Lord" and then dared not say more.
After all, the Rock Steel Giant Dragon’s majesty was too overwhelming. Since it rely nodded without speaking, the Shadow Wind Giant Eagle knew it was not yet the ti to talk.
In short, the perceptive eagle imdiately and obediently led its flock to land on the ground to one side, prostrating itself without a sound.
Finally, after about half a day had passed.
All the summoned Entry Tier Demon Beasts had arrived.
In an instant, an army of Entry Tier Demon Beasts had gathered at the foot of the hill.
There were two hundred and twenty-three Entry Tier Demon Beasts in total.
Among them was one Tier Five, one Tier Four, twenty-eight Tier Three, and the rest were Tier Two and Tier One.
Such a force was already formidable. If he were to use them to start a Demon Beast Tide, it would be many tis larger in scale than the small Beast Tide the Silver Lion Duchy experienced decades ago.
However, Lince hadn’t summoned them to start a Beast Tide.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have limited the summons to only the Lord Level Demon Beasts from across the Deserted Wilderness.
Work!
That’s right. Lince had gathered these creatures to make them work.
Right there, on that hill, Lince commanded the Earth-attribute Demon Beasts among the Entry Tier forces to excavate an Underground Space of at least three million cubic ters, a hundred ters beneath the hill.
The Earth-attribute Demon Beasts were to use their Magic Power to excavate the Underground Space, without concern for the cost.
The flying beasts and other Entry Tier Demon Beasts with different Attributes were responsible for discreetly clearing a path to the Swamp Territory and excavating the Middle Tier Magic Crystal Ore hidden in the forest.
Lince planned to use this Middle Tier Magic Crystal Ore to allow all the Demon Beasts to excavate the Underground Space without holding back.
Of course, Lince himself wasn’t idle either.
After all, he was the chief Engineer for this underground excavation project.
The Rock Steel Giant Dragon was in charge of using Rock Steel to form the support pillars for the Underground Space, as well as reinforcing its outer walls.
He had to ensure the entire structure was stable and that the final Underground Space t his exact specifications.
Thus, with the beasts working without restraint and with Lince’s personal involvent, after roughly a hundred days of in-ga ti, the vast Underground Space was finally complete!
Three million cubic ters—and not a bit less.
Massive pillars of Rock Steel supported the entire structure’s stability.
The surroundings were dark and lightless, but by simply fixing the excavated Fire Attribute Magic Crystals to the cavern’s ceiling, the entire Underground Space quickly brightened.
’This is Extraordinary Power!’
A space this large was completed so easily in just three months!
The process hadn’t actually been that smooth at the beginning. But with Lince—a forr "civil engineering grunt"—overseeing the project, aided by the Extraordinary Power of a Tier Five being, everything was ultimately brought to Perfection.
Lince spread his wings and flew through the Underground Space, looking down with imnse satisfaction.
Finally, he landed before all the listless Entry Tier Demon Beasts, most of whom wore expressions of utter despair.
At this mont, looking at the exhausted and bewildered faces of the Shadow Wind Giant Eagle and even the Unihorned Demon Bear, Lince spoke.
"Your efforts will be rewarded!"
"You may not understand now, but that doesn’t matter."
"Now, I need all of you to stand guard here."
"Until I return, none of you are to take a single step out of this place! Additionally, Eagle, have your offspring closely monitor the sky and the ground. I will not permit any being—be it Demon Beast or even Human Race—to approach the vicinity of this Underground Space."
"Great Bear, you are in charge of supervising all the Demon Beasts here. Is that clear?!"
The Shadow Wind Giant Eagle and the Unihorned Demon Bear exchanged glances, but they still responded imdiately and loudly.
"Yes, My Lord!"
Seeing their confused yet compliant expressions, Lince didn’t feel the need to say anything more.
He then turned to face the rock wall at the far end of the Underground Space.
The next mont, a familiar ssage flashed through Lince’s mind.
[Player confirms the establishnt of the Gate of Truth at the designated location!]
[Gate of Truth transport link establishing. Counterpart portal randomly assigned to a derelict or ruinous area, either on the surface or in the shallow subterranean...]
The next mont, under Lince’s watchful gaze, and also under the confused stares of over two hundred Entry Tier Demon Beasts...
...a ring of light suddenly began to appear on the rock wall ahead.
The light was blurry at first, then beca incredibly bright.
Then, a seven-colored light appeared. Its rainbow radiance erupted in an instant, illuminating the entire Underground Space in a flash.
All at once, on the northern rock face of the Underground Space, right in front of the Rock Steel Giant Dragon, a swirling, ring-shaped portal shimring with rainbow light appeared.
The entire swirling portal was about twenty-five ters in diater and was incredibly brilliant.
The Low Tier Demon Beasts stared blankly at the rainbow portal, and even the Unihorned Demon Bear looked completely bewildered.
But the Shadow Wind Giant Eagle’s beak hung open, its eyes glazed over in a montary stupor.
’The Power of Space?’
’A Space Teleportation Gate?’
’Is this sothing a Tier Five Sub-dragon can create?’
’Besides, is My Lord a rare Space System Giant Dragon Descendant? No, that can’t be, right?’
’What exactly is my lord?’
The Shadow Wind Giant Eagle didn’t know, couldn’t be sure, but at this mont, its reverence for Lince, the Rock Steel Giant Dragon, had deepened into a much greater fear.
