Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Counterasures and the Idea of Forming a Small Circle
Finally, before York left, Lince also gave him instructions regarding the Forest Wolves.
York could now lead a team to the Western Jungle, where the Forest Wolves resided, to prospect and mine for minerals.
Of course, this would require the Giant Dragon Substitute Body to accompany York to et the wolf pack first.
After that, the wolf pack could serve as another surprise force for the Swamp Territory.
Once he had finished giving these instructions, Lince began to ponder how to best ensure the success of the inference, following his established line of thought.
Now that the Swamp Territory had its family banner, it possessed a temporary ans of protection.
There shouldn’t be too much risk in the short term.
But accidents could always happen. After all, people could choke to death just from drinking water.
What if one day a High Tier Magical Beast—or even a Saint Tier Magical Beast—charged down from the Demon Beast Mountain Range? The Swamp Territory? It would be more like the Ruin Territory.
Although Saint Tiers weren’t currently appearing, the chance of encountering a High Tier Magical Beast still existed. It was just the difference between a 0% and 100% chance, that’s all.
All Lince could do now was ensure the Swamp Territory’s survival as best he could within the frawork of his existing ans.
His Rock Steel Giant had already reached Tier Four. Factoring in the Forest Wolves and the Swamp Territory’s own network of influence, as long as he didn’t draw too much attention by being too high-profile, there would be absolutely no problem in the short term.
Moreover, as long as he handled the matter with the Truth Church properly, the Swamp Territory’s developnt would surely enter the fast lane again.
Therefore, the Truth Church was the top priority right now.
"The Truth Church..."
Lince felt a headache coming on.
’My general idea is definitely sound, but the details... the details are what matter!’
Lince had no clue how to arrange the specifics.
If he had a detailed plan of action, he could simply formulate it. Then, on Inference Day, the Rock Steel Giant could guide York according to the plan he left behind.
At this mont, Lince had been in the ga for just over two hours today.
Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck Lince!
’How did I get stuck in such a loop?’
’If I can’t think of it myself, can’t the almighty netizens? Or even the forum Players and my chat group mbers?’
Lince felt like he must be going crazy. How could he not have thought of that?
And so, with a single thought, Lince consciously exited the ga.
「The next mont.」
Lince, who had been slumped over his computer desk, suddenly shot upright as if jolted.
He quickly pulled out his phone and skillfully accessed the exclusive Player forum.
He was about to post on the forum for help, but he quickly stopped.
Because Lince suddenly considered his actual situation. Posting directly on the forum had its benefits, but it also had its downsides.
Doing so would undoubtedly expose his own Player forum ID.
Although other Players and even the officials couldn’t trace his real-world information through his forum ID, he would undoubtedly attract a lot of direct attention.
Lince could even picture the flood of private ssages that would co pouring in.
After all, before logging in today, Lince had seen nurous threads on the forum discussing him.
There were even paid posts soliciting the forum ID of the Giant Lizard Player.
Furthermore, the Counterasures Bureau had a dedicated recruitnt post specifically for the Giant Lizard Player.
The Counterasures Bureau vaguely offered so-called generous terms. As long as the Giant Lizard Player revealed himself and joined the Bureau, he would start with the highest level of treatnt.
The Counterasures Bureau even subtly ntioned that they would green-light all future promotions for the Giant Lizard Player.
They were painting such a pretty picture that even Lince had to admit he was a little tempted.
But thankfully, Lince considered himself to have a good head on his shoulders and a strong will. In short, he just remained silent and unmoved.
’Of course, if my forum ID gets exposed, then so be it. After all, the exclusive True Ga forum ID has privacy protection; forget hackers, even the entire Human Alliance couldn’t crack it. I don’t need to worry too much. I’ll just ignore all the private ssages and not reply.’
He felt the most important thing was that if he posted on the forum, then later, if he accepted good advice from other Players or even the Counterasures Bureau, and if everything went smoothly, it would an he owed them a huge favor.
A favor like that would have to be repaid. After all, that was just who Lince was; it was his bottom line.
Therefore, rather than letting so random Players he knew nothing about, or even the enigmatic Counterasures Bureau, earn that favor, Lince preferred to give the opportunity to the Players in his small group chat.
There were many benefits to this, the most direct being that it would be easier to form his own small inner circle with him at the center.
As for the composition of the small group chat?
’It already has brokers for capitalists in it, so the probability of it *not* having a Player from the Counterasures Bureau is too low.’
However, he didn’t need to worry too much. He just needed to know that no matter the situation, there were more advantages to developing his own clique within the small group.
Besides, Lince felt that in his current situation, it would be difficult to keep a low profile even if he wanted to.
After all, following last night’s inference video, he had already beco an extrely high-profile figure among the many ’hotshots’.
’Since the moniker ’Giant Lizard Player’ is already so high-profile, I might as well lean into it. I’ll just keep a low profile in reality.’
Moreover, in the current situation, Lince, the ’High-End Player,’ was the one holding all the cards.
So, he figured the players in the group wouldn’t be foolish enough to want to offend him.
Surviving the first two Inference Days ant the ga had already weeded out the vast majority of foolish Players.
Realizing this, Lince relaxed.
’After this ga session, as soon as the next inference video is released, there’s no way I’ll be able to hide the fact that I’ve reached Tier Four.’
’At this rate, I’m probably going to beco the biggest hotshot in the entire world.’
’Of course, I’ll probably be cursed out by tons of jealous people, not to ntion that
Breaking Tier will postpone the next Inference Day by another hundred days.’
This was definitely going to crank up the ga’s difficulty for all the current online Players! Lince would find it strange if he *wasn’t* cursed out.
Thinking of this, Lince felt a little helpless.
’It’s not like I *want* to make things harder for other Players!’
’The ga’s rules are just like that, what can I do? After all, I’m just a ’little player’.
As Lince had these unscrupulous thoughts, he had already opened the small group chat.
Lince had originally thought there wouldn’t be many people in the group at this ti. After all, even if they had been playing since 8 a.m., it still wouldn’t have been a full eight hours of ga ti.
But, to Lince’s surprise...
...inside the small group chat, Lince once again saw those familiar show-offs.
Brother Cheng Takes Off: "Help! HOLY SHIT! A whole bunch of bone dudes just crawled out of nowhere in my Great Tomb, and it looks like they’re all going crazy and attacking each other!"
"What do you guys think? Should I go out and snatch a wave of Soul Fire to level up?"
"Waiting online! Super urgent! Whether or not I can take off all depends on this wave!"
Not the Tea Monarch: "Take off? More like ascend to heaven! I don’t know the specifics of your in-ga situation, but since it’s a huge free-for-all, it’s definitely dangerous! You want to scavenge? Don’t let yourself get scavenged by soone else. Ghost Fire Minister, I’m telling you, you should just lay low. Surviving until the end is the real victory! Trust
on this, you can’t go wrong!"
