Su Yan was enveloped in a Death Shroud.

He suddenly fell completely silent.

At the sa ti, all the mannequins around him abruptly ceased moving.

The female teacher before him did likewise.

Her delicate and flawless face now bore only a sinister expression, horrifying to behold and hardly an appetizing sight.

"THUD... THUD! THUD!"

Accompanied by the sound of falling bodies.

The previously motionless mannequins began to distort grotesquely.

They transford into lifeless, rotting wood, then collapsed to the ground, completely inert.

Su Yan was bound, immobile, and completely at their rcy. Their task was complete; there was no need for further action.

"TAP... TAP! TAP!"

Just then, the sharp click of high heels on the floor echoed in the darkness.

Soon after, a slender young woman erged from the shadows. She walked elegantly before stopping in front of Su Yan.

"Heh, I thought you were so formidable character, but this is all you amount to?" she scoffed.

"Any pretty face could handle you. Even I could do it."

"I don’t know what Old Shu was thinking, specifically naming you to beco one of us."

Looking at the bound Su Yan, the woman’s pale face was filled with disdain.

"RIIIP!"

The woman tore an opening in the shroud over Su Yan’s mouth and then retrieved a pitch-black seed from sowhere on her upper body.

The seed looked grotesque, covered in vein-like striations that swelled and shrank periodically, as if sothing were writhing within.

"Humanity is hopeless. Old Shu is rely taking pity on you by allowing you to join us."

With that, the woman reached out, intending to shove the seed into Su Yan’s exposed mouth.

But just then, with a long, intense RIIIP! of tearing fabric, Su Yan burst out of the Death Shroud.

First, a glint of cold light appeared. Then, with a movent as swift and powerful as a striking dragon, a seemingly feeble hand shot out and clamped around the woman’s throat.

"You... you! How can this be!"

The woman stared at Su Yan, her face a mask of horror and utter disbelief.

What is happening!? This student was clearly bound by the Death Shroud, so how can he still move? That thing is a terrifying cursed artifact capable of binding even Rare Level Creatures! This is impossible!!! There must be so mistake!

Seeing the woman’s utterly bewildered expression, Su Yan found it sowhat amusing.

"A re scrap of cloth, and you thought it could bind ? You seriously underestimate ."

Then, he added cuttingly, "Besides, if you’re trying a honey trap, sending you wouldn’t be nearly enough."

"You...!"

The woman’s face turned purple, partly from asphyxiation but mostly from sheer rage at Su Yan’s words.

Seeing the woman was about to lose consciousness, Su Yan released his grip, and she crumpled to the ground.

"COUGH... COUGH! COUGH!"

The woman landed with a series of violent coughs, then gasped desperately for air.

Su Yan looked down at the woman, now slumped on the ground and gasping for breath, and continued to taunt her.

"I’ve t fools, but never one as foolish as you. You took the bait so easily."

"Speak! Who are you? What is your purpose? And why are you in this school?" Su Yan squatted before the woman, his tone flat as he questioned her.

The woman sneered. "Heh, I advise you to give up trying to torture information out of . You won’t get anything."

Su Yan smiled innocently. "Is that so? I happen to have studied torture quite extensively. Perhaps you’ll get to experience so of it shortly."

The woman said defiantly, "Go on, bring it on! Use every torture thod you know! See if you can get a single word out of !"

"Hmph, quite defiant. Let’s see if you can maintain that spirit when the torture begins."

The mont he finished speaking, Su Yan stepped forward and struck the woman, instantly disabling her.

He then turned and vanished into the darkness, presumably to find his instrunts of torture.

Soon, Su Yan returned.

He held no sharp weapon, no thick iron rod. All he had was a small bottle of essential balm.

However, it was this unassuming bottle of essential balm that, with a single glance, struck such terror into the woman that she was completely overco by fear.

Her face contorted with dread, her thin lips trembling, she stamred, "Student! I’ll talk! I’ll tell you everything I know! Please, just throw away that bottle of essential balm!"

"Hmph, so you know what’s good for you."

Su Yan sneered, set down the essential balm, and said with an icy expression, "My patience is limited. Tell everything you know—now."

The woman, thoroughly cowed, began to speak without hesitation. "I am..."

However, just as she began to speak, a pair of hands—cold, decaying, and exuding the stench of death—materialized beside her neck.

"Watch out!"

Su Yan spotted the hands instantly. He shouted a warning and lunged to stop them.

But he was too late. With a sickening SNAP! the woman’s neck was broken, killing her instantly.

"Fuck!" Su Yan cursed.

Just then, a disturbing sound erged from the darkness.

"PATTER... PATTER! PATTER!"

Imdiately, countless eerie hands crawled out from the darkness.

They scuttled on three fingers, thumbs and little fingers raised, rapidly advancing on Su Yan.

One hand was particularly conspicuous. Unlike the others, it stubbornly scuttled on all five fingers and rushed to the very front, as if determined to take center stage.

Seeing this, Su Yan strode over and kicked it, sending it flying. "All the others are moving on three fingers," he muttered, "but you just had to be flamboyant and use all five. Who else would I kick?"

Soon, the hands surrounding Su Yan had multiplied to an overwhelming degree, encircling him tightly and swarming all over his body.

They crawled over his ankles, his waist, his neck, until he was completely subrged in a sea of hands, his figure vanishing from sight.

But the next mont—BOOM!

From within the sea of hands, Su Yan erupted with the overbearing presence of a Rare Level Creature, instantly blasting away every hand clinging to him.

"PATTER... PATTER! PATTER!"

Countless hands rained down, thudding heavily onto the ground before gradually fading into nothingness.

anwhile, in a dimly lit room, a man holding a carving knife in his right hand and a piece of rotting wood in his left, paused.

"Su Yan," the man mused, "I underestimated you."

A fleeting, aningful smile touched the man’s lips as he resud carving the piece of wood.

A short while later, the carving was complete. It depicted a handso face.

Bright, expressive eyes, a slightly high-bridged nose, and sharply defined features gave the face a striking, three-dinsional quality—the dream of 1.3 billion girls.

Holding the carved wood, the man walked unhurriedly to a coffin and stopped. He reached out and lifted its heavy lid.

He placed the carved wood inside, sprinkled so strange pollen over it, and then resealed the coffin.

About half a minute later, the coffin began to shake violently.

Then—BANG!

The coffin lid was kicked off from the inside, sent flying.

Soon, a mannequin, an exact likeness of Su Yan, eerily climbed out from within.
