Although she appeared perfectly calm, Lin Aoxue’s subtle gestures after entering the room betrayed her inner anxiety. When she entered and saw Zhang Yi’s grandfather—the legendary Powerful Divine Being—her body tensed for a split second.
"Elder Zhang, good morning!"
"Zhang Yi, good morning!"
When Lin Aoxue finally made her way to the table on the other side of the conference room, she took out the contract agreent she had revised and neatly rewritten the previous night. Holding the Magic Contract Agreent with both hands, she respectfully presented it to Zhang Shumo, Zhang Yi’s grandfather. It was obvious that Zhang Shumo was the dominant figure in the room.
Before their guest arrived, Zhang Yi had been admonished by his grandfather to watch more, talk less, and learn. Thus, Zhang Yi said nothing as he witnessed the scene unfold.
"This is the contract agreent I drafted according to Zhang Yi’s requirents," Lin Aoxue said. "Please review it!"
Her fidgeting was now slightly less pronounced than when she had first entered. Although she tried her best to control her voice, its trembling still gave her away.
Zhang Shumo gave a slight nod, and the Magic Contract Agreent unfurled in mid-air. The contract was over six ters long, but under Zhang Shumo’s control, the speed at which he perused it was astonishingly fast.
The conference room fell silent; it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Lin Aoxue unconsciously held her breath and looked up, trying to read Zhang Shumo’s expression. But the two of them were on completely different levels; the gap was simply too vast. As a result, she couldn’t glean any useful information. Instead, her mood fluctuated with his every micro-expression.
When Zhang Shumo finished reading the entire contract, Lin Aoxue’s heart leaped into her throat. He gently tapped his fingers on the tabletop, but each tap seed to land directly on her heart.
"This contract’s terms are standard. It ntions the rights and obligations of both parties, and it outlines the tasks for each stage," Zhang Shumo began slowly.
Just as her heart, which had been lodged in her throat, was about to settle back down, she heard him say:
"However!"
This is bad! Lin Aoxue’s heart skipped a beat.
"However, this contract is *too* standard. Furthermore, it’s too vague regarding resource support and obligations!
"My conclusion is that this is a modified contract you found online, tailored to favor yourself!
"The obligations are less than the rights. With this contract, you aren’t looking for a Main God; you’re looking for an investor to fund your growth!"
Zhang Shumo’s words struck a nerve. He had instantly pointed out the hidden intentions she held, thoughts that even she herself hadn’t fully realized.
He didn’t an to bla her. After all, so of the contract’s self-serving aspects were so subtle that even her own conscious mind hadn’t registered them. He was rely stating a fact.
But that wasn’t how Lin Aoxue saw it. Hearing Zhang Shumo’s words, her face instantly turned deathly pale. The inner balance she had struggled to maintain was shattered in an instant, replaced by a frantic desperation. The powerful aura Zhang Shumo unconsciously emitted easily amplified her distress, creating an atmosphere that felt suffocating.
At that mont, Lin Aoxue was like a drowning person, desperate to grab onto anything that floated by.
Then, Zhang Shumo took out a tiered plan for cultivating Subordinate Gods, which his team had provided and he had personally modified.
"This is a draft my side has prepared. It’s a plan for cultivating a Subordinate God during the Demigod stage. You can take a look.
"Also, if you agree to this plan, there are subsequent developnt plans for the True God stage.
"As long as you accept this plan, you are guaranteed to beco a Weak Divine Being at the very least!"
Lin Aoxue hadn’t even seen the plan yet, but just hearing his words, she felt as if her heart were about to pound out of her chest.
The minimum achievent is a Weak Divine Being!
Is this the kind of Subordinate God cultivation plan a Powerful Divine Being can offer?
Just hearing this, her subconscious was already screaming for her to agree. But a final sliver of clarity in her mind made her accept the docunt instead. Then, she began to read it without a word.
Seeing this, a flicker of approval appeared in Zhang Shumo’s mind. She can keep her composure, at least.
As the minutes ticked by, more than ten minutes passed before Lin Aoxue finished her initial reading of the entire plan. Compared to the proposal she had provided, this new plan for cultivating a Subordinate God starting from the Demigod stage had a much clearer division of rights and obligations.
The family behind Zhang Yi would provide the resources. For the first year of her Divine Realm’s existence, they would give her one Five-star Divine Domain Card that she needed each month. After the second year, they would provide two or more Divine Domain Cards, the exact number depending on the quality of her Divine Realm.
Furthermore, a dedicated team would personally tailor a developnt path for her. She would gain access to Divine Domain Cards and knowledge she could never have obtained before. As long as she signed this contract, she could have it all imdiately!
But the Zhang Family wasn’t running a charity. Such abundant resources ca at a price.
First, based on Lin Aoxue’s performance, a team would be assigned to follow her.
