"Turn in the quest?" Hearing what Chen Mo said, the beautiful owner of the Adventurer’s Tavern showed a look of disbelief. "Do you an you’ve already found the remains that the quest issuer requested?"
"Yes, I’ve found them all. It’s just that I think it wouldn’t be appropriate to present them in this tavern," Chen Mo said, glancing at the lively scene of eating and drinking around him.
The beautiful owner looked at Chen Mo solemnly. But her heart was already filled with ecstatic joy! He was indeed a destined person, accomplishing with ease what others could not. It seems my own problem can truly be resolved.
She imdiately said with enthusiasm, "Please, follow to the back."
Chen Mo nonchalantly followed the beautiful owner into a yurt behind the Adventurer’s Tavern. Inside, there was no one else, only a large Teleportation Array on the ground.
"My apologies, respected destined person," she said. "Even though you say you’ve completed the quest, I still need to verify proof of completion. Please present the remains."
"Of course."
Chen Mo didn’t mind. He directly retrieved the bodies from his Divine Domain World and placed them on the ground.
Looking at the bodies on the ground, the beautiful owner smiled apologetically. "I’m truly sorry. It’s not that I don’t trust you, but this is a necessary verification step."
As the beautiful owner chanted, a magic array suddenly materialized before her, and an incomparably sacred light enveloped the bodies. Chen Mo, who possessed the Eye of Origin, easily identified it as a Restoration Technique. This technique could restore anything that had been disguised, camouflaged, or otherwise made misleading to its original state.
In the past, so people had forged quest items or used other tricks to claim rewards illicitly. That’s why this verification step was always implented. However, this step could upset those who had genuinely worked diligently on their quests, as they might feel as if they were being treated like liars. This was especially true for those who had completed quests under great duress, sotis even losing many teammates to bring back the required items. Under such circumstances, being subjected to a verification process that implied they were liars was understandably unpleasant. Therefore, before every verification, the one performing it would always try to appease the other party with words. For instance, the beautiful owner of the Adventurer’s Tavern had apologized twice consecutively this ti. This was done to minimize the discomfort of the person being verified.
Chen Mo, naturally, did not feel offended by this routine verification step.
"Respected destined person, the verification is complete. There are no issues with the quest items you’ve found. I will imdiately notify the quest issuer to co and claim them. Once he has confird, the Adventurer’s Guild will promptly send soone to deliver your reward."
Typically, if one wishes to post a quest at the Adventurer’s Guild and set a reward, they must first deposit the promised reward with the Adventurer’s Guild. This policy was in place to prevent quest issuers from reneging on the reward after their quest was completed. Therefore, even if the quest issuer themselves were present, the reward would not be in their possession at this mont. Only when the quest issuer confirms completion, or a related party provides certification, will the Adventurer’s Guild release the reward.
Following the beautiful owner’s actions, the Teleportation Array in the yurt quickly lit up. A petite, fair-skinned girl with long ears, resembling a young human girl, appeared within the Teleportation Array.
The mont she arrived, her eyes fell upon the bodies on the ground. Suddenly, tears stread down her face as she threw herself onto the remains, weeping uncontrollably.
After being comforted by the beautiful owner, she gradually stopped crying. She carefully gathered all the bodies and stored them away, then dried her tears and looked at Chen Mo.
"Thank you so much, respected destined person! I am incredibly grateful that you brought their remains back. Now I can give them a proper burial and not leave them exposed in the wilderness."
"You’re welco. It’s simply a matter of accepting paynt to resolve difficulties for others, that’s all," Chen Mo replied, then quickly changed the subject. "By the way, may I ask you sothing?"
"Respected destined person, you are too kind. Bringing their remains back ans you are my great benefactor. Please, ask anything you wish; I will tell you everything I know," the long-eared girl said, looking at Chen Mo with a docile expression.
"Regarding the reward for this quest—the God-Made Essence you offered—where did you find it? Do you have any more?"
Upon hearing Chen Mo’s inquiry about the item, the long-eared girl imdiately replied in a soft, sweet voice, "Our Adventure Team found it in so ruins during an expedition. At the ti, we only found this single piece."
"Ruins? Have you finished exploring them?"
"No, those ruins are quite dangerous. We’ve explored less than a tenth, I’d say," the long-eared girl replied, indeed sharing everything she knew.
Hearing this, Chen Mo beca intrigued. To find such a precious treasure as God-Made Essence after exploring less than a tenth of the ruins... imagine what other valuable things could be found if they were fully explored! He was naturally quite interested.
"Then, could you tell the location of those ruins?"
"Of course. Do you have a map? I can mark the location for you."
