Typically, a skill reached its peak at Level 10. Chen Mo didn’t have enough Skill Books for synthesis, let alone surplus ones for leveling up. She planned to maximize synthesis first and consider leveling up later. After all, top-tier skills were definitely more desirable than maxed-out low-tier ones.
Having confird that Chen Mo wanted that many Skill Books, Elder Rui said, "The White Skill Book ’Skeleton Summon’ isn’t very useful. The lowest price is one thousand per book. We can’t sell all of them, as we still need so for recipes. We can give you a thousand books. That will be one million. The Green Skill Books, ’Fanatic Worship’ and ’Dark Shield,’ are twenty thousand each. We also need to keep so in stock, so we can give you two hundred and fifty of each. That will be ten million. So, the total is eleven million."
After all, this was a reputable large rchant guild, and most things had fixed prices. Chen Mo recalled paying only a little over a hundred per book from the old man’s stall on the roadside. However, that stall was out of stock, so she had to buy from the large rchant guild. A small loss didn’t matter; improving her strength sooner was more beneficial. As for Green Skill Books, their prices were similar, whether at Myriad Heaven or roadside stalls. In fact, stalls sotis asked for even higher prices. This was because Myriad Heaven didn’t typically display such low-tier items in their showcases. They usually used them as recipe ingredients to synthesize more valuable things. There was a saying: "For low-tier items, go to the black market or local markets. Only mid-tier items qualify for display in Myriad Heaven’s showcases."
It was only because Chen Mo had presented six good items that they had given her a second look and agreed to such a trade. Moreover, Chen Mo wasn’t just buying a few items; she was stocking up like a major trader, so they certainly didn’t look down on her.
She had over twenty million, and in the blink of an eye, eleven million were already spent. She continued to ask, "Do you have Dark Wands here?"
"Those are ’disassembly goods.’ We consolidate and disassemble them once a month," Elder Rui explained, "and you’ve co at a good ti. It’s almost the end of the month, which is when we have the largest stockpile."
"What about the price?"
"One thousand each."
Hearing that the price was double what the stalls charged, Chen Mo felt the pinch. But they had plenty of stock. If she didn’t buy them, they would be disassembled, and she wouldn’t find so many elsewhere anyti soon.
"Then, I’ll take a thousand," Chen Mo stated.
"Alright. That’s one million."
Buying items by the thousand, her backpack space was definitely insufficient.
"Since you’re in the backpack business, you should have a large basic stock of one-cubic-ter backpacks, right?" Chen Mo asked tentatively.
"We do indeed. Are you looking to buy a thousand this ti as well, Miss?" Elder Rui couldn’t help but laugh.
"I don’t need that many. A hundred should be enough."
She didn’t want to state a number that was exactly what she needed for synthesis, lest they beco suspicious, Chen Mo thought.
"Alright," Elder Rui chuckled. "It doesn’t make much difference."
Instantly, another million was gone, leaving her with only ten million.
She still needed to show Sister Yiyi her financial strength later, so she should control her spending for now, Chen Mo thought.
She considered her current equipnt; she had no armor at all. Hence, she asked, "Do you have any low-tier suits?"
A suit is different from ordinary armor sets. Wearing one piece activates the set effect, but this single item occupies most of the armor slots. If you wear one, you can’t equip other armor in those sa slots. Compared to ordinary armor sets made of multiple pieces, a single-piece suit naturally has weaker basic attributes. The advantage is that you don’t need to gather multiple components; the maximum set effect is activated directly.
What Chen Mo needed was the "Beginner’s Bodysuit," which occupied six slots: chest, pants, shoulders, arms, knees, and waist.
"We have those. The lowest-tier, a plain ’Beginner’s Bodysuit,’ costs fifty thousand each," Elder Rui said.
"In that case, give ninety of them."
"And fifty Equipnt Upgrade Stones."
"Equipnt Upgrade Stones are one hundred thousand each. Fifty stones will be five million."
Equipnt Upgrade Stones are special items used to raise the Level of equipnt. For example, if you have Level 1 equipnt, you can use Equipnt Upgrade Stones to upgrade it to Level 5. However, there’s a success rate. Initially, it’s 1%. Each failure increases the success rate for the next attempt by 1%, up to a maximum of 50%. After a successful upgrade, if you use another Equipnt Upgrade Stone on the sa item, the success rate resets to 1%. Furthermore, each upgrade perford increases the number of Equipnt Upgrade Stones required for the subsequent upgrade by one. Therefore, significantly raising an equipnt’s Level consus a vast amount of resources.
At one hundred thousand per stone, not everyone can afford them. It’s generally only considered if you’re exceptionally fond of your current equipnt and absolutely must raise it to match your own Level. Chen Mo’s Magic Wand, with its life-saving Shared Fate effect, was a crucial weapon for her. As her own Level increased, she needed to upgrade the Magic Wand accordingly. While others faced low success rates with Equipnt Upgrade Stones, she could synthesize them to obtain stones with much higher success rates. This would make the process much easier.
She’d spent quite enough already, Chen Mo decided, resolving to stop for now.
"Alright, that’s everything. Please calculate the total for ."
Professionals earned money quickly, but they also spent it just as fast. It could truly be said they spent money like water. The over twenty million she had just acquired now seed to be dwindling to loose change.
"Miss, in all my ti here, this is the first ti I’ve seen soone request such a large quantity of goods," Elder Rui remarked.
"Really? Myriad Heaven is so large. Surely there are tis when a group collectively upgrades a batch of equipnt for its mbers?"
Elder Rui smiled and replied, "There are, indeed. But it’s the first ti I’ve seen soone request such a massive quantity of low-tier items."
"Are you teasing , Elder?" Chen Mo smiled helplessly. She had been montarily caught off guard when the young attendant called her ’sister.’ Now, she reminded herself that she had transford into a woman and needed to act the part. Consequently, she subconsciously adopted a few feminine mannerisms. When she pouted, there was an inexplicable hint of petulant charm. No one could tell she was originally a boy; her disguise was quite convincing.
"Not at all, not at all. All who co here are valued guests. How could I dare to tease you, Miss? The total cos to twenty-two million five hundred thousand. How about I round it down to twenty-two million for you?"
"Agreed." She had initially thought she would only have a few hundred thousand left. To still have a million remaining was quite good, Chen Mo mused.
"I’ll have the items brought over imdiately. Please wait a mont, Miss."
Elder Rui gestured with his eyes to a nearby attendant, who promptly led Chen Mo to a side area to sit, drink tea, and rest.
