「On Chen Mo’s side...」
With the fall of the BOSS, cracks began to appear in the Rule Barrier, but it did not shatter instantly. A typical Rule Barrier would completely dissolve 5 minutes after the death of The Master of Mutation. Before that, it would appear to be progressively filling with cracks. Temporarily, the rules still held.
Inside the barrier, Mu Xing, who had been drawing closer to Chen Mo and the BOSS’s battle zone by following the explosions, was stunned motionless by the sudden sound of the great path. She had montarily forgotten about investigating the battle ahead. Instead, she imdiately opened the semi-transparent floating window before her and began to examine the achievent that the sound of the great path had announced—one that would bring benefits to professionals worldwide.
Impossible! Soone actually managed to complete such an achievent?!
After reading the detailed introduction of "The Lonely God of War" achievent, Mu Xing was utterly shocked. She found it incredible that soone could actually complete such a feat.
While she stood there, marveling at the details of the achievent, Chen Mo had already begun collecting the spoils of war. Since this Master of Mutation was in its Non-Rebirth form, it hadn’t dropped many items. However, due to undergoing one mutation, the quality of the dropped loot was well-assured. This ti, the BOSS dropped a total of 8 items: 2 pieces of golden equipnt, 2 rare items, 2 yellow Skill Books, and 2 bags of money. Noticing the Rule Barrier above him beginning to crack and wanting to avoid unnecessary explanations, Chen Mo didn’t imdiately inspect what the Harvest contained, instead shoving everything into his backpack.
Then, he plunged into the forest, planning to feign being lost and cowering in fear when soone eventually ca looking for him. After all, he had just achieved an under-leveled kill against The Master of Mutation and triggered the sound of the great path. Judging by the rewards and the information that had been broadcast, Chen Mo felt the impact was no less significant than the first ti. It was always better to be cautious. He understood the principle that "the tallest tree catches the most wind." He wasn’t afraid of being outstanding, but being outstanding to such an outrageous extent was best avoided.
By the ti Chen Mo had finished hiding, Mu Xing had recovered from her astonishnt and rembered her mission. Just as she prepared to continue following the sound of explosions toward the battle site, she found her surroundings eerily silent. Where were the explosion sounds now?
Unconvinced, she pressed on, running further ahead. Within a minute, she reached the wasteland in the forest created by The Master of Mutation’s descent.
Why is there such a patch of wasteland in the forest? It must have been caused by The Master of Mutation’s arrival.
After confirming the location, Mu Xing quickly scanned her surroundings. The ground was a ss of various footprints, horseshoe prints, scorch marks, and craters. It was obvious that at least several hundred people had been fighting here monts ago. She then turned to look at the path the BOSS had forged through the forest when it charged in to kill Chen Mo.
Clearly, a large group of people were just fighting the BOSS here, but why did everyone disappear while I was checking the ssage from the Heavenly Dao? Where are the combatants?!
Did they already kill the BOSS, gather the loot, and then collectively Teleport away?
Mu Xing was thoroughly perplexed.
It seems I’ll have to wait for the seniors to arrive and let them assess the situation themselves.
As she thought this, she suddenly rembered there was still a student lost in the forest. Although The Master of Mutation had been eliminated, this was the Mutated Land, where monsters of various Levels were distributed. Now that The Master of Mutation had disappeared, these monsters would return to the forest, making the lost student’s situation potentially even more perilous than when The Master of Mutation was present. After all, within the vast expanse of the forest previously, only The Master of Mutation road freely; other monsters hadn’t even dared to approach. In such a large area, the chances of a professional encountering The Master of Mutation by chance weren’t actually high. Especially since The Master of Mutation’s movents were large and loud, giving ample warning. Hearing such commotion, wouldn’t anyone flee imdiately? Of course, if one encountered a Master of Mutation with exceptionally keen senses, then escape would be impossible.
I wonder if that child is safe.
Thinking of this, Mu Xing imdiately started walking and calling out, "Chen Mo! I’m here to lead you out! Are you still in the forest? Monsters might be returning to the forest now, so it’s still quite dangerous. If you can hear , please respond!"
Chen Mo heard Mu Xing’s call quickly.
It seems the teachers outside sent soone to rescue ...
Chen Mo’s mind imdiately raced, figuring out what to say. Once he had a plan, he responded, "I... I’m here..." He even deliberately made his voice tremble slightly, as if from lingering fear.
Hearing Chen Mo’s voice, Mu Xing quickly bounded over to him. Now that the battle was over, she no longer needed to use the Hidden Pearl to conceal herself.
"Watch out!" As soon as Mu Xing arrived, she suddenly threw a dagger toward Chen Mo.
Chen Mo instinctively spun around to dodge. Just then, a WHOOSH sounded from behind him as a Level 10 wolf-like monster pounced. Chen Mo wasn’t worried about the ambush; he always had 500 invisible Skeleton Monsters stacked together, ready to intercept attacks for him. Even if he were ambushed, they would absorb the damage.
"AWOOO!!!"
As Mu Xing’s dagger struck, the wolf monster cried out in pain and collapsed.
Chen Mo quickly scrambled towards Mu Xing.
"A Level 20’s attack can’t one-shot a Level 10 monster?" Chen Mo blurted out, seeing the wolf monster still alive after Mu Xing’s strike.
This made Mu Xing look exasperated. "I haven’t undergone my rebirth mission yet!"
The difference between being Level 20 post-first-transition and Level 20 pre-first-transition was enormous. Chen Mo had once ntioned, back when his profession was seven-star, that once a profession’s star level surpasses five-stars, each star grants a substantial 10 attribute points. For instance, a three-star professional before Level 20 would only gain a ager 15 attribute points per level (3 stars × 5 points). However, upon reaching Level 20 and successfully completing a Profession Star-Adding Rebirth Mission (for example, a three-star mission that adds three stars), one could be reborn into a six-star profession. For professions exceeding five-stars, each star then provides 10 attribute points. This ans a six-star professional would gain a full 60 attribute points per level (6 stars × 10 points). Furthermore, this enhancent applies retroactively to all attribute points gained from Level 1. In other words, successfully adding stars at Level 20 would boost one’s total freely allocable attribute points from the original 300 to 1,200. That’s an instant difference of a whopping 900 attribute points. The disparity was, needless to say, imnse.
This is precisely why many professionals choose to halt their progression at Level 20, diligently accumulating strength to attempt a Profession Star-Adding Rebirth Mission that could elevate their profession to the coveted six-stars! Mu Xing was one such individual. Originally a two-star professional, she currently lacked the confidence to pass a four-star Profession Star-Adding Rebirth Mission. Therefore, she could only continue to build her strength, clinging to that slim hope of success.
