I froze.

I didn’t know what to do.

My brain did that horrible thing where it tried to convince this wasn’t happening.

For a second, I thought maybe if I stayed completely still, the universe would reverse. Or a truck would run over. Either option was fine.

My legs were glued to the pavent, and I couldn’t move.

Ian got out of the driver’s seat and slamd the door. He walked toward , and leaned against the car.

"I...I’m so sorry," I stamred, already turning to bolt. "I ruined your car. I’ll leave now."

"Are you seriously gonna walk around like that?" he asked, grabbing my arm, just enough to stop . "Okay. Just... chill."

Chill?

I was bleeding. In public. In his car. And this man wanted to chill?

"I can take the bus, look, there’s literally one right there," I said quickly, pointing to the old yellow bus pulling up to the station across the road. My voice cracked. "It’s fine. I’ll figure it out."

"Are you out of your mind?" he snapped. "You expect to just leave you bleeding in the middle of the road so so creeps can harass you? Seriously?"

"I said I’m fine!"

"I have two sisters, June. Two. If I ever saw soone leave them like this, I’d run them over with this car and reverse twice." He hissed and scratched the back of his head.

"But you’re a bully yourself," I muttered, hugging my arms across my chest.

He raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, well... I should be the only one allowed to bully you."

"You’re not the first girl to bleed in my car, but you’re the most dramatic."

Before I could roll my eyes, he opened the passenger door behind and gently nudged my shoulder. "Sit down, June. You’re already annoying enough. Don’t make it worse."

I blinked at him.

He walked to the back seat and grabbed a navy blue hoodie....one of those oversized, designer hoodie and handed it to without making eye contact.

"Just wear that. Tie it around your waist or whatever. Don’t bleed on my leather next ti, please."

Rude much?

I sat there in silence, my heart doing this weird fluttery thing.

Was this real?

Was Ian Han helping with my period? I expected full ti mockery. Instagram stories. A blood emoji captioned "RIP June."

The car pulled away.

We didn’t speak.

Why does he even care?

We pulled into a brightly lit supermarket. He didn’t say a word...just put the car in park, unbuckled, and turned to .

"I’ll be right back, don’t move" he ordered.

Then he got out and disappeared inside.

I sat there in his super expensive black car, surrounded by a sll that was way too sweet to be a car scent, holding his hoodie in my lap.

I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh or... cry harder.

This was so humiliating. I wanted to disappear into the hoodie. Why was he really being nice?

Was this pity?

Or did he actually... care?

And why did that make even more annoyed?

The minutes dragged. I felt the dampness underneath and hated myself all over again. Stupid uterus. Stupid body. Stupid Ian for seeing this. Stupid hot stupid smug annoying Ian...

He ca back with a bag in hand.

Didn’t say anything, he just handed it to .

"That should be enough," he said casually.

I looked inside.

There were three kinds of pads. Night ones, slim ones, winged ones. Tampons too...small, regular, and the scary extra-large kind. A mini packet of wipes.. And... chocolate?

I blinked at the last item.

He looked away like he was embarrassed. "Don’t make it a thing. Nari used to punch in the throat if I forgot the chocolate."

"You got all this?" I asked?

He scratched the back of his neck. "Didn’t know what you used, so I got everything."

I looked at him again and smiled.

He didn’t look nice.

Hell, Ian isn’t nice, he’s literally the kind of guy who makes girls cry and then gaslightes them into apologizing. But now he was buying pads? For ?

"There’s a restroom inside the supermarket," he added. "If you wanna fix up."

He didn’t et my eyes. Just looked out the windshield like the mont wasn’t happening.

"Thank you," I whispered again.

"You’ll be fine," he replied, brushing it off. "It’s not the end of the world. Just... the end of my car’s innocence."

I choked on a laugh. "You’re such a jerk."

He glanced at then, the corner of his mouth twitching. "Yeah, but at least I’m a helpful one."

Ian walked ahead of into the supermarket. Like he hadn’t just seen the most humiliating mont of my teenage existence.

He held the door to the open without saying anything.

We walked through the sliding glass doors of the supermarket. The fluorescent lights buzzed overhead. He led the way, mumbling sothing about this being "the most dramatic quest of his life."

He pointed toward a sign with a stick figure in a skirt. "There. Restroom’s over there. Go sort yourself out."

I nodded, clutching the paper bag like it was a survival kit.

Just as I turned, my phone buzzed. Dad.

I quickly swiped to answer. "Hey, Dad."

I answered quickly, trying to make my voice sounding okay. Like I wasn’t wearing a boy’s hoodie tied around my waist because I bled all over his car.

"June? You alright? You didn’t reply my last ssage. Where are you?" He sounded worried.

"I’m fine," I said, trying to sound normal. "I

just... took the bus with a friend, I’ll be ho soon."

"You sure you’re okay?"

"Yeah. Promise."

There was a pause. "Alright. Just be careful. Text when you get ho."

I hung up fast before my voice broke.

I hung up and walked into the restroom. It was empty...thank God. I picked the farthest stall and locked the door behind . My hands were trembling as I opened the bag and pulled out the essentials.

And that’s when it hit .

It wasn’t even about bleeding. It was just... everything. My life, the pressure, the chaos, the way Ian had seen break. The fact that for once, soone saw completely unguarded, and it had to be him. The guy I hated most.

Tears spilled down my cheeks without warning.

I was so embarrassed. Today was stressful, awkward, the fact that soone actually cared....even if it was Ian freaking Han. I pressed my forehead against the stall wall and let out a shaky sob.

Then I heard the door creak open.

"June?"

Oh no.

"Hey. Are you crying in there?" Ian’s voice echoed through the bathroom. "I bought you painkillers."

I sniffled. "Get out! This is the ladies’ restroom, you creep!"

"You think I care about the gender of a room right now?" he scoffed. "I thought you passed out or sothing. You’ve been in here for like fifteen years."

He paused. "Don’t tell you clogged the toilet."

"I hate you," I laughed.

"I’d hate too if I was crying in a public restroom cos I just got my period."

"Leave alone!"

"No. Not until you co out and stop being a hormonal fairy."

I groaned and unlocked the stall door. He stood there, arms folded, leaning against the sink. His expression softened...just slightly when he saw my red eyes and blotchy face.

He crouched in front of , then....without asking, he reached out and patted my head.

Like I was a puppy.

"I swear to God, Ian..."

"Relax," he laughed. "I’m just resetting your brain. Crying’s not illegal, you know."

"Stop touching , ugly freak."

He smirked.

"Ouch. Hurtful. Especially coming from soone who ruined my car’s seat and saw my dick in the sa day."

I covered my face. "Can we not bring that up again?"

"I’m just saying....today’s been very intimate for people who literally hate each other."

I shoved past him and splashed water on my face. "I still hate you anyways."

"And yet here we are," he said, holding the door open like a gentleman-douchebag hybrid. "Let drop you off at ho."

We walked back into the parking lot.

As we got in the car, Ian started the engine, then glanced at .

"So," he said, "you’ve officially used up my Nice Boy Coupon. That was a one-ti offer."

"Nice boy?" I snorted. "Where?"

He ignored . "When you see at school on Monday, don’t co near like we’re friends. I’ll deny everything. I’ll pretend you don’t exist."

I scoffed. "I wasn’t going to do that either. I was also going to ignore your ass."

"And don’t...I an don’t tell anyone what happened today," he added, reversing the car. "Not the part where you bled in my car. Not the part where I bought you pads. And especially not the part where you saw my dic..."

"Omg, fine. Stop talking ’bout it already. But for the record, I didn’t want to see your dick!" I cut him off.

"Yeah, well... my dick didn’t want to see you either."

I threw a tissue at him, and scoffed as he drove up.
