He bit my ear lightly. "Or you could ride until that pretty voice of yours is gone. Whichever you’re comfortable with."
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"You have no idea how hard it is to behave when you’re standing there looking like every one of my bad ideas." He said pulling closer by the waist. "You’re obsessed with ."
He kissed the side of my neck, slow and warm. "Tell to stop," he whispered. "And I will."
I didn’t say anything.
Didn’t want him to stop.
Didn’t need him to stop.
My hands slipped under the hem of his shirt, feeling the hard muscle of his stomach.
He sucked in a breath. "Damn. Okay."
His lips crashed into mine.
It wasn’t soft this ti.
It was hungry. Desperate. Like he’d been waiting all day and finally got permission to lose control.
He kissed until my legs went weak and I had to cling to him to stay upright.
He pulled away and smirked. "Omg, Ash. Is that why you’re shaking like a baby deer?"
I swallowed. "Maybe."
He walked backward until the backs of my knees hit the bed. I fell onto the mattress looking breathless.
"You nervous because we’re making out?"
"Yes," I whispered.
Dominic let out a low laugh. "God, you’re so cute when you’re nervous."
He pulled away, still close enough that I could feel the warmth of his breath on my lips.
He smoothed his palms over my shoulders and held steady, his blue eyes kept searching mine.
"Hey," he murmured, in a really soft voice.....softer than I’d ever heard it. "I’m not rushing you, Ash. Take your ti."
My chest felt too tight to speak.
Then, I decided to say the stupidest thing. "Do you actually... like ?"
The smile slipped off his face. He just stared at .
My throat tightened. "I an... like are you gay? Or bi? Or...I don’t even know what I am. I just know...when you flirt with , it makes my stomach flip. And when you look at like you’re looking at right now...I can’t... I can’t breathe. And I feel stupid because I didn’t even know I was— I an—"
Dominic pressed two fingers to my lips. "Okay, okay, whoa."
I blinked.
He smiled gently. "First of all... chill, Rivera."
I tried to speak, but he held up a finger.
"Second... do I like you?" He grabbed my hips, pulling close until my chest brushed his. "Let’s see... I call you beautiful at least twice a day. I drove halfway across town because you were crying. I kissed you until you forgot how to breathe. And I’m letting you wear my favorite shirt, and I just made lunch and fed you icecream. So yeah... I actually like you."
I felt heat flood my face. "That doesn’t answer the other part."
Dominic sighed dramatically. "Fine. Yes, I’m gay. I’ve known since I was fourteen, thanks to the extrely educational influence of shirtless Chris Hemsworth in Thor."
A startled laugh escaped . "Seriously?"
"Oh yeah." His grinned. "I was like...yup. I’d climb that man like a tree. And then I was like...oh. Huh. I was also way into the quarterbacks than the cheerleaders."
I covered my face with my hands. "God..."
Dominic gently tugged my hands down. "And as for you... it’s fine if you don’t know yet. Or ever. You don’t owe anyone a label. You just have to know how you feel. I don’t expect anything from you you’re not ready for."
"How do you know you though?" I whispered.
His voice dropped low. "Because when I look at you, I want to kiss you. And I want to touch you. And sotis, I want to say the most inappropriate things to you because I know it’ll make you blush."
My breath stuttered. My cheeks flad. I tried to swallow, but my throat felt dry.
He leaned closer, his lips brushing my ear. "Want to prove it?"
I squeaked, "Dom...Oh god."
"Wanna hear it anyway?" He grinned. "What’s the difference between a Ferrari and my d—"
I clapped my hand over his mouth. "STOP."
Dominic laughed so hard his shoulders shook.
He caught my hand, pressed a kiss to my palm.
"Listen to , Ash. You don’t have to figure all this out tonight. I just want you here. With . To know that you’re safe."
My chest squeezed so tight I could barely speak. "Okay."
He brushed a thumb under my eye. "Now... do you want to keep kissing you? Or do you want to keep telling filthy jokes until you get hard again?"
I hesitated, my face was burning. "Both?"
Dominic burst out laughing. He wrapped his arms around , lifting slightly off the ground.
"You’re such a nace."
I tangled my fingers into his hair. "Takes one to know one."
He carried backward toward the bed, murmuring against my lips.
"God, I’m so gone for you, Rivera."
He paused, swallowing hard, then gave a small smile. "Tomorrow, after the hearing, we’ll talk. About everything. About the guys you saw today. About Liam’s case. About...us."
"Us?"
He ducked his head a little, like he was shy. "Yeah.... About the mont I knew I had a crush on you."
A shaky laugh broke out of . "I still can’t believe you really have a crush on ?"
He gave a look. "Rivera. Please. Have you t you?"
I rolled my eyes. "You’re impossible."
"And you love it."
My lips curled upward, despite everything twisting in my chest.
Dominic’s expression softened even more. He tugged closer until my forehead rested against his collarbone.
"But for tonight," he murmured. "I just want you to relax. I want to stroke your hair and watch an Girls with you."
He pressed a kiss into my hair.
"Because things are gonna change, Ash. And I’m gonna be here. Always."
Then he pulled into his arms, wrapping up like he could shield from the entire world.
I wanted to believe him so badly it hurt. So for once...I’ll let myself try.
