Cecilia raised an eyebrow and discreetly put away her phone.

Soon, the truth would co out.

Selina looked at Cecilia with disdain.

"Didn’t you say you knew Teacher Rainy? How co that not only did you fail to get her now, but you’re also too afraid to find a partner for Diana?"

As she spoke, she turned to Diana.

"I think you should find soone more reliable. Don’t let your duet turn into a solo and embarrass the school!"

She pinched Richard’s arm.

"Right, Richard?"

Richard finally snapped out of his indifferent state.

He nodded and said, "Yeah, you probably haven’t even looked at the rules yet."

Diana felt a pang of anxiety.

"What rules?"

Richard pointed to the school notice on his phone and read it aloud.

"This year, all graduates can only perform the registered program at the graduation ball, or else it will be a zero for everyone."

Panic flashed in Diana’s eyes as she quickly checked her phone.

The announcent was made only five minutes ago; it was clearly a sudden change.

But seeing how they seed to know in advance, she understood that they had probably done this to target her.

It was likely that they had already found out about this internally, but they were told not to inform her.

A solo was not an option now; she needed a duet.

But where could she find a partner at such short notice?

Selina pretended to be sympathetic as she watched Diana’s anxious expression.

"Oh dear, you don’t have a partner. What to do..."

"How about... I let Richard be your partner?"

"Richard, would you be willing?"

Richard held Selina’s hand.

"How could I? I’m your partner."

"But, Diana always says I stole you away. I don’t want to be the bad guy here, so let’s compete fairly. Whoever he chooses is the one. Is that okay, Diana?"

Diana felt disgust rising inside her.

Wasn’t she just doing a gross act right now?

She was about to speak when Cecilia interrupted, "No need, she has a partner."

"After all, we don’t have the habit of recycling trash."

Cecilia’s words stunned everyone.

Especially so for Selina and Richard, whose faces alternatively flushed red before turning pale—it was quite the spectacle.

Selina hissed.

"All the candidates are here today. It’s impossible for anyone to be your partner!"

Richard frowned. He could not believe that Diana, who had always been clinging to him, could let go and find soone else so quickly.

"Who is it?"

Cecilia glanced at her watch and casually replied, "No comnt."

Saying this, she pulled Diana to a corner.

Diana couldn’t help but ask curiously, "Cecilia, who is the partner you ntioned?"

Just as Cecilia was about to answer, she looked up to see Ethan leisurely walking in.

Ethan really didn’t want to co, but with Steven unavailable and soone needing to represent the Lawrence family, he was sent over instead.

He had no clue about elegant arts like dancing and singing, so he was only here to slack off.

Unexpectedly, he saw soone intriguing.

It was Cecilia.

His eyes lit up as he briskly walked toward her.

Cecilia did not even have the ti to dodge before he intercepted her.

"Miss Morrison, you’re here too. And this is..."

He looked toward Diana before freezing in place.

Diana perfectly matched his taste and aesthetic—no one else was as attractive to him as she was.

He extended his hand. "Hello, Miss, I am..."

His self-introduction was cut short by a sharp voice, "No way, Diana! Is he your partner?"

Ethan turned back in confusion, looking at the two.

Upon seeing his casual attire, Richard felt his sense of superiority surge.

"Diana, if you only just asked , I might’ve co to your rescue since we have our own history. However, finding this guy... aren’t you just slapping in the face?"

Ethan understood this part.

Stepping up to Richard, he stared down at the shorter man and confidently retorted, "I am her partner. So what? You don’t believe it?!"
