A few hours had passed since Steven ended his call with Cecilia. As he watched his grandmother sleeping peacefully, he felt a sense of admiration for Cecilia for the first ti.
At that mont, Amy arrived at the hospital room with Alex to visit Marianne.
Alex held Marianne’s hand, a worried look on his face.
Amy spoke calmly.
"Do you really trust Miss Morrison?"
Since childhood, Steven had only trusted her and Marianne. Yesterday, from a brief encounter with Cecilia, Amy had noticed a strange atmosphere between Steven and Cecilia.
Steven neither confird nor denied it. "When you can use soone, of course, you must trust them."
However, he understood that he had impulsively believed in Cecilia at so point.
Amy didn’t press further; instead, she playfully teased.
"What? Did she make your heart flutter?"
‘Make my heart flutter?’
Steven recalled the scene from yesterday when Cecilia fell into his arms. Back then, he had acted on impulse—driven solely by the instinctive need to prevent Cecilia from falling to the ground.
But was that a flutter of the heart?
Just as he was pondering, a call ca in.
"Mr. Lawrence, we found Adrian Keller’s address."
"Let’s go."
With that, he hung up and headed to the Keller residence.
With Alex’s musical talent, it would be hard to find a good teacher. After learning about different music genres, he decided to study classical music, and Adrian was the best ntor in the world.
He was planning to train Alex to manage Lawrence’s music business, hoping it would help nurture his talent once he graduated from elentary school.
At the Keller residence, Alex heard Adrian calling him Emma, and he imdiately realized the old man knew his sister. He quickly gave Adrian a blink.
"Mr. Keller, could you take as your apprentice?"
His eyes blinked rapidly, and Adrian quickly cald down.
"Sure, you can be my apprentice!"
Steven and Amy were both confused.
Was this old master attracted to cutesy kids now?
Just monts ago, he was going off about talent and the Lawrence family. Now, he accepted Alex so easily?
Steven wanted to say sothing, but Adrian pulled Alex into the main hall.
Just as Steven was about to follow, he was blocked by other staff from the Keller estate.
"Mr. Lawrence, please proceed to the side hall and wait here for a while."
Inside, Alex followed Adrian into the main hall as Adrian inspected him from head to toe.
"I’ve finally t you, Little Emma. Just as I thought—you do have a gift for music! Quick, you must take as your ntor."
"..." Alex said nothing, simply staring at him.
Only by gathering more information could he prevent those who recognized his identity from exposing him.
On the other hand, Adrian was puzzled; why did Emma seem less lively than in the videos?
"Never mind, you can do it later. But how co you didn’t co with your mother and instead ca with that boring poker-face man?"
An elderly man in his eighties calling Steven a boring poker-faced man made Alex laugh out.
"Mr. Keller, I’m not Emma. I’m her brother, Alex Lawrence. Cecilia is my mother too."
Now, it was Adrian’s turn to be utterly shocked.
"What did you say? You’re Cecilia’s son?"
Alex nodded.
Adrian still couldn’t believe it.
"Don’t fool just because I’m older... Are you really her son? Not her daughter?"
Adrian was losing confidence.
With his observational skills, he could usually tell a person’s gender. However, because he had only seen Emma in videos, he could not be entirely sure. Thus, upon eting soone who looked just like Emma, he was doubtful.
Alex responded loudly, “I really am. My sister and I look very similar, so you would not be able to tell. But I have this~”
Saying this, he acted like he was about to pull down his pants to show his proof as a boy.
Adrian quickly stopped him.
Now, he truly believed him.
Suddenly, Adrian got excited. He didn’t expect that Cecilia’s long-lost son would now be with him.
He pulled out his phone. “I need to tell that little rascal this good news as soon as possible!”
‘Little rascal? Is he talking about Mommy?’
Before Alex could think further, he grabbed Adrian’s phone.
“No, I need to complete my mission with my sister first before revealing my identity to Mommy.”
Adrian was puzzled. “What mission?”
“... Can’t tell you yet.”
It was a secret between him and Emma.
Adrian grew anxious. “Then I’ll tell your mom you’re here with !”
“Then I’ll tell my sister about this, and neither of us will take you as our ntor!”
“You... hmph!”
As expected, Alex had delivered a devastating blow.
A victorious smile appeared on Alex’s lips.
“Don’t get cocky, little boy. I’ll certainly find a way to make you both my apprentices...”
Before he could finish, a clear voice ca from outside the door.
“Grandpa Keller? I’m here for a face-to-face etup with my online friend, so where are you?”
Cecilia followed Emma closely, feeling helpless.
‘eting with an online friend, huh? Old Ari must have taught her that word.’
Hearing Emma’s voice, Adrian’s eyes lit up, and he hurriedly ran out.
“Little Cece, look at what I’ve discovered!”
