Rainy was stunned.
"Sister, what’s wrong with you?
"It’s , Little Rainy!"
Olive’s eyelashes trembled as she continued speaking.
"You’ve got the wrong person, I don’t know anyone nad Rainy..."
Before she could finish, Rainy pulled her arm. On the inside of her arm was a small "R" tattoo, while Rainy raised her own arm to reveal a small "S" in the corresponding spot.
She held back her sadness as she said, "When our parents divorced, I was assigned to Dad and had to go abroad with him, while you stayed in the country with Mom. We secretly got these tattoos to rember each other. R for Rainy, S for Snow."
"Sister, why won’t you acknowledge ?"
Hearing her words, Olive couldn’t hold back anymore and said with a voice thick with grief, "Yes, I used to be Snow—but I’ve changed my na. I am now Olive, and I have a good life here. Please, don’t just appear out of nowhere to disturb it, okay?!"
Rainy was rooted to the spot. She couldn’t believe that the sister she had wanted to find for so many years could be so heartless.
She nodded, heartbroken and ready to leave. However, Larry suddenly began mumbling in his hospital bed.
"Dad... don’t hit ... Dad!"
With a loud shout, he awoke from his nightmare. Olive quickly embraced him, comforting him gently.
Rainy sensed sothing was off. Did Larry just say, "Dad, don’t hit "?
Frowning, she asked seriously, "Sister, are you really living well now?"
Olive stubbornly nodded.
"Who is Larry’s father?"
Hearing the word "father," Larry shuddered with fear.
Rainy felt like sothing was definitely wrong here.
Olive stamred, "His father... that’s none of your business!"
Rainy replied helplessly, "You’re the sister I’ve been looking for, and blood is thicker than water—Larry is my nephew. Seeing him so afraid, how could I not care?"
Larry was now a bit more alert, his eyes landing on Rainy. His eyes showed a hint of fear.
"Mom, she... she’s the person from your photo. Larry was good and stayed away from her..."
Hearing this, Rainy’s heart ached even more. She didn’t know Olive hated her so much that she would tell Larry to stay away from her.
It seed he had even climbed out the window in a hurry to avoid her and hit his head, making Rainy’s heart shatter into pieces.
"Sister, I just don’t understand... Why?"
Olive patted Larry’s back, gently comforting him without even sparing Rainy a glance.
"There’s no reason. I have no family, no other relatives; Larry is my only family."
"Miss Rainy, you now have fa, status, and money—Dad clearly raised you well. Since you are living well and I am doing fine too, let’s not et anymore."
She had long anticipated this day. Ever since she saw Niki at the kindergarten gate, she knew Rainy had returned to the country.
Niki and Rainy were good friends—they were often seen together, and the entire world knew of this.
She had been so careful, but sohow, they still t each other.
Seeing Olive not willing to share more, Rainy realized that it would be pointless to ask further. She only nodded helplessly.
"Well, you both rest for now. I’ll look after Larry at the kindergarten, so you don’t need to worry."
However, Olive refused her goodwill.
"Larry probably got so trauma today; he won’t be going to kindergarten for a while."
Despite her words, the child in her arms quickly shook his head when he heard that. It was as if he had realized sothing big.
"No, Mom, no! If I don’t go to kindergarten, Dad will be angry!"
She comforted him, "Dad won’t be angry, don’t worry."
"Mom, no... Call Dad and tell him not to be angry, please?"
Seeing Larry’s fearful behavior, Olive had no choice but to give Cole a call. The call took a while to connect, and an impatient voice ca from the other end.
"How many tis do I have to tell you not to call at this ti?! Are you asking for trouble?!"
Covering the phone’s speaker, she whispered, "Larry hit his head and passed out. He’s in the hospital now and wants to see you. Can you co?"
Seeing her in this state, Rainy’s frown deepened.
What kind of life had she been living all these years?
Olive ended the call, probably not wanting her to hear how Cole was treating them. She spoke up, "Miss Rainy, thank you for bringing Larry to the hospital today. But whatever cos next is our family matter, so perhaps you should leave?"
How could Rainy not understand what Olive’s words ant? She sighed and turned to leave.
Once out of the room, she hid nearby to observe the situation inside.
Soon after, a man in a suit walked into the room, full of impatience. Seeing his hostile deanor, she already disliked him quite a bit. As he entered Larry’s hospital room, she guessed this must be Olive’s husband and Larry’s father.
Quietly moving closer to the room, she overheard the conversation inside.
As Cole entered the room, Larry called out "Dad," only to be t with a loud smacking sound.
He had landed a straight slap on Olive’s face!
