It was Alex.

Alex looked around to make sure Steven’s car wasn’t around. Then, he skillfully got into Cecilia’s car. The car drove off quickly.

Steven saw this scene. It seed his son had done this many tis. He really hadn’t visited here enough; otherwise, he would have recognized Emma much earlier.

When did these two kids actually et?

As he was pondering, Emma walked out while looking left and right for her dad. He imdiately got out of the car and walked toward her.

"Alex."

Emma saw him coming over, excitedly running to throw herself into his arms.

"Daddy!"

Hearing his daughter’s sweet voice calling him "Daddy," Steven’s heart softened. He easily picked her up and smiled as they walked back to the car.

"What do you want to eat today? Daddy will cook for you."

Emma said, "... It’s okay! Auntie Linda’s cooking is really delicious!"

Steven knew this was her way of refusing him. Apparently, she was the one who had eaten the olet he had cooked last ti.

But was his cooking really that bad?

Back ho, while Auntie Linda was cooking, Emma climbed onto the sofa to watch TV.

The TV back at the hotel wasn’t as big as this one for her to watch cartoons on. Watching them on TV at Steven’s house was a delight for her!

As she watched, she was suddenly attracted to an inconspicuous little box beside the TV.

Why did this box look so familiar?

She got off the sofa, went over to pick up the box, and opened it.

‘Isn’t this the watch I asked Brother to give to Daddy?’

‘How could Daddy just leave it here like this? Doesn’t he like it?’

But even if he didn’t like it, he shouldn’t have left it here so casually; it was a gift she had carefully picked out for him!

Emma pouted angrily. Just then, Steven changed into his casual wear and walked downstairs. Seeing the angry little figure in front of the TV, he hurried over.

“What’s wrong? Did soone bully you?”

She lifted her little face, looking at him angrily, before she threw the watch in her hand into his arms. She shouted loudly, "You’re a bad daddy, I won’t like you anymore!"

With that, she turned and ran upstairs back to her room, shutting the door with a bang.

Steven was bewildered. What happened to this child?

He curiously opened the box in his hand and found a big gold watch inside.

‘This is...’

While he was thinking, his phone suddenly chid with a notification.

This was a special notification he had set up for Emma’s livestream. Hearing it, he quickly entered the livestream room.

After returning to her room while upset, Emma turned on her computer to livestream chess as a way to distract herself.

She had not gone online for a while since her last stream, many people were waiting for her return. Seeing her stream again, a lot of people were spamming supportive comnts, and Emma hadn’t noticed Steven joining the stream.

Soone in the livestream asked.

[Hey strear, did you get the watch you were going to buy for your dad? He must be overjoyed to receive it!]

[Definitely! If my cute daughter gave a watch, I’d be so happy I’d pass out!]

[A watch for a life—live by the watch, die by the watch!]

Reading these comnts, Emma felt even more resentful as she mumbled.

"Daddy doesn’t like it at all, I won’t like Daddy anymore!"

Hearing this, the audience also got angry with Emma.

[This dad really lacks emotional intelligence!]

[Yeah, Emma, co be my daughter instead. No matter what you give , I’ll like it!]

Steven was taken aback, then imdiately scolded himself for being careless.

So the ‘Daddy’ Emma had been referring to in the live stream was him all along! And he even thought it was another person and got jealous. Now, he hadn’t even noticed the gift from his daughter!

Feelings of self-bla and happiness occurred at the sa ti for him. He quickly put the watch on; having not taken photos for years, he took several selfies with it to keep forever.

After that, he moved his fingers and reported those who wanted Emma to be their daughter.

At this mont, Alex was also watching his sister’s livestream. He imdiately noticed her sour mood, about to ssage her and ask when he heard her ntion the watch she gave to Steven. By then, he realized it was his own fault for forgetting to tell Steven about it.

Seeing Emma mad at their dad, he quickly sent a ssage to explain.

[Sis, it was my fault for not telling Dad about the watch. It’s not Dad’s fault!]

Emma received the ssage, realizing she had wrongly blad Steven. Thinking about how she claid she wouldn’t like him anymore, she was worried whether he would be sad.

Thinking of this, she quickly ended the stream and opened the door to go out. She was just in ti to see Steven smiling like a fool at the watch.

She shyly walked over to him, apologizing.

"I’m sorry, Daddy. I shouldn’t have said that earlier."

Steven picked her up, shaking his head.

"Daddy should be the one to apologize for not noticing the watch. Daddy loves this watch and will always wear it."

Happy again, she hugged Steven tightly.

"I love you the most!"

After dinner, Emma grew sleepy quite fast as she had not taken a nap. After Steven put her to bed, he returned to the sofa.

Zane had been waiting for a while, looking serious.

"Alright, what did the investigation on Cecilia uncover?"
