"Beautiful, isn’t it?" Wang Jiu turned around, her face filled with a morbid excitent.

"They are all perfect vessels, able to perfectly contain the energy of the Soul Resurrection Grass."

"Unfortunately..." she pointed to the cultivation pod in the center.

"Only she is the one closest to success."

It was only then Zhang Yang noticed that the woman in the cultivation pod bore a striking resemblance to Xiao Man.

Zhang Yang’s heart tightened imdiately. Even knowing that this woman couldn’t possibly be Xiao Man, he still found it unbelievable and wanted to know what was going on with this woman, so he spoke up, "What have you done to her?"

"Don’t worry, she’s still alive." Wang Jiu shook the syringe.

"Once this is injected, she will fully awaken, becoming the first perfect ’new human.’

"At that ti, the Nine Revolutions Mysterious dical Technique and the Soul Resurrection Grass will beco history."

"You’re insane!" Zhang Yang shouted angrily, flashing towards Wang Jiu.

Wang Jiu, however, calmly pressed a button on the wall, causing the laboratory floor to suddenly crack open, with countless tal pipes erging from below, entwining towards Zhang Yang.

Zhang Yang stepped up on the tal pipes, soaring into the air, gathering his energy at his fingertips, and struck towards Wang Jiu.

Wang Jiu dodged, but her syringe aid at the cultivation pod.

Just then, the woman in the pod suddenly opened her eyes, and her pupils were an eerie green. She punched the glass of the pod with force.

"Crack!" A crack actually appeared in the glass.

Wang Jiu’s face changed: "How is this possible? It’s not ti for awakening yet..."

Zhang Yang took the chance to strike Wang Jiu’s wrist, the syringe flying out of her hand, the green liquid spilling onto the ground, emitting a white smoke.

Wang Jiu recoiled in pain, retrieving a dagger from her lab coat, stabbing towards Zhang Yang.

The two instantly engaged in combat.

Wang Jiu’s movents were extrely fast, her attacks ruthless, each strike aid at a vital point.

Zhang Yang noticed that her movents carried a stiffness, as if controlled by sothing.

"Have you also been backfired by the energy of the Soul Resurrection Grass?" Zhang Yang asked while dodging.

Wang Jiu’s face slightly changed, but her attacks beca even fiercer: "Shut up! Once I control this power, I will beco an undying existence in this world!"

At this mont, the glass of the pod suddenly shattered with a "bang," and the woman inside stepped out.

She was naked, her skin glowing a cold white under the ergency lights. She effortlessly tore off the tubes from her chest, and the green liquid flowed from the wounds, instantly absorbed by her skin.

"She’s awake!" Wang Jiu exclaid, both shocked and delighted.

The woman, however, did not look at her but walked straight towards Zhang Yang, uttering incomprehensible syllables.

Zhang Yang could feel that the aura she emitted was incredibly similar to that of the Soul Resurrection Grass yet much more violent.

"Be careful!" Zhang Yang warned.

The woman suddenly accelerated, punching towards Zhang Yang.

Zhang Yang raised his arm to block, feeling a trendous force, his arm going numb instantly.

He then realized that this woman’s strength exceeded even the Tomb Guardian Beast of Changbai Mountain.

Wang Jiu seized the opportunity to pull out a remote control from a nearby cabinet: "She now only obeys my orders, Zhang Yang, you’ve lost!"

She pressed the button, and the woman suddenly turned, pouncing towards Wang Jiu.

Wang Jiu froze for a mont, then scread, "What are you doing? I am your master!"

The woman ignored her, grasping Wang Jiu’s throat, lifting her up.

Wang Jiu’s remote fell to the ground, and she struggled to say: "I created you... you can’t..."

Before she could finish, the woman applied force, and with a "crack," Wang Jiu’s neck was brutally snapped.

Zhang Yang watched in shock, unable to believe the turn of events.

After killing Wang Jiu, the woman turned to look at Zhang Yang, a flash of confusion in her green eyes.

At that mont, Zhang Yang felt a warmth on his chest.

He pulled out and saw it was the half Jade Pendant he had acquired earlier.

The woman saw the Jade Pendant, her movents noticeably paused, the violent look in her eyes gradually fading, revealing a trace of pain.

"Who are you?" Zhang Yang cautiously asked.

The woman did not answer, slowly raising her hand, pointing to an iron box in the corner of the laboratory.

Zhang Yang walked over and opened the iron box, finding the other half of the Jade Pendant.

Why would grandfather’s other half of the Jade Pendant be here?

Zhang Yang rembered that his grandfather’s half was buried with his belongings, wasn’t it?

Zhang Yang had planned to retrieve it from Changbai Mountain after returning, to investigate its significance.

But was unable to do so midway due to an imminent breakthrough.

Zhang Yang was baffled, but he decided to set it aside for now, combining the two pieces of the Jade Pendant into a complete circle. As expected, it ford one whole piece.

But nothing seed to happen.

"Who... am I?" the woman asked, bewildered.

Zhang Yang looked at the woman, who resembled Xiao Man, with furrowed brows.

"For now, co with ," Zhang Yang said to the woman after putting away the Jade Pendant.

The woman nodded and walked towards the exit.

Zhang Yang watched her silhouette, suddenly rembering sothing, and ran towards the depths of the laboratory.

That should be the core area Wang Jiu ntioned, possibly housing the last secret of the Qingyi Sect.

The core area was a smaller lab, with a massive apparatus in it, connected to countless wires. On the platform in the center lay a yellowed notebook.

Zhang Yang picked up and opened the notebook, discovering it was Wang Jiu’s research log.

The log detailed how she uncovered the secrets of the Soul Resurrection Grass, conducted experints, and... controlled those mutants.

The most alarming part for Zhang Yang was the final page, which read: "The energy of the Soul Resurrection Grass cos from the earth veins, and the stone coffin at Changbai Mountain is a node of the earth veins. Once opened, the consequences would be unimaginable..."

Zhang Yang suddenly recalled the stone coffin at Changbai Mountain, along with the half Jade Pendant, as a terrifying idea ford in his mind.

At that mont, the lab shook violently, cracks appearing on the walls.

Zhang Yang hurried to the door, seeing the entire underground space collapsing, the cultivation pods starting to shatter.

"This isn’t good!" Zhang Yang exclaid, turning and running towards the exit.

Upon erging from the password-protected door, he saw Jin Tuantuan leading people rushing in: "Are you alright?"

"Run! This place is collapsing!" Zhang Yang grabbed her, sprinting out.

Just as they exited the factory, there was a loud crash behind them, the abandoned factory collapsing with a cloud of dust rising.

Zhang Yang looked at the collapsed factory, montarily bewildered.

Has the headquarters of the Qingyi Sect just collapsed like this? Did Wang Jiu die just like that?

Isn’t this a bit too dramatic?

Zhang Yang took a deep breath, then told Jin Tuantuan: "Clear the scene, kill who needs to be killed, capture who needs to be captured..."
