Su Yan couldn’t wrap his head around it. Senior Sister used to adore him—now she seed to loathe him?

“Senior Sister, what’s wrong? I…”

He stepped forward, speaking.

Ling Ling thrust out a hand, shouting, “Stay back!”

“Huh?”

He froze. What’s this about?

Su Yan blinked, confused, his long eyelashes twitching. His eyes were full of questions and a little bit of hurt.

Ling Ling saw it. For a second, her heart skipped. Maybe she was wrong about him?

But the thought disappeared fast. She pushed it away.

“Hah. No way I’m wrong,” she thought.

Those strange mories were too clear. She had checked—they matched real events. Su Yan wasn’t innocent. He was pretending—acting kind while being worse than anyone.

Now he was trying to look weak to win her over?

Too bad. She wasn’t that silly girl anymore.

Her eyes turned cold. “Why are you here?”

Su Yan felt the coldness and was shocked. They hadn’t seen each other in months, but she suddenly acted like she hated him. What happened?

“Master sent to check on you. Are you okay?” he asked carefully.

“I’m fine. Nothing’s wrong,” she said, taking a deep breath.

He stared. She didn’t look fine at all. It was like she was trying to hold in sothing spicy and couldn’t look him in the eye.

Ling Ling knew she was acting strange. She couldn’t face him normally. Every ti she looked at him, mories hit her—him using his looks to ss with people, flirting with Senior Sisters, bullying Junior Sisters…

Her chest felt tight. How could he beco soone like that?

No way she was going back to Yi Xian Sect soon. Not until she forgot him.

“Are you staying long? You can’t. Master wants you back. You’ve been gone too long.”

She clenched her teeth. “I’ve got things to do. Tell Master I’m not coming. You can leave.”

“What?”

He froze.

She wasn’t coming back? But Master told him to bring her. If he went back alone, how would he explain?

“Are you sure? Master said—”

She cut him off. “I said I’m busy! If you want to leave, then go!”

He stared at her, shocked that even Master’s na didn’t change her mind.

Then the system popped up.

[Option 1: Enforce Master’s law—beat her up, drag her back. (Reward: Mid-Grade Spirit Tool, Red Fla Whip)]

[Option 2: Stand firm: “You don’t leave, I won’t either—when you’re done, I’m gone!” (Reward: Random Skill Point 1)]

[Option 3: Walk away. (Reward: Spiritual Power 2)]

Simple task—why so ssy?

According to the system, the only way to take her back was to beat her in a fight.

But…

“No way!”

Even if he wanted to, he’d lose badly! She’d crush him. Fight her? He’d be the one lying flat.

She used to be kind and sweet to him—never even scolded him. But this new Ling Ling? She looked like she hated him. Better not risk it.

So he picked the second option. Fighting was out, and he couldn’t return to Master alone—might as well stay and get a reward.

“If you’re not going back, then I’m staying too. When you’re ready, we’ll go together.”

He smiled.

[Task complete. Reward issued.]

[Random Skill: Rain Summoning 1]

Seeing the new skill boost, he sighed.

“Not helpful at all,” he thought.

His words snapped her out of her thoughts. Annoyance bubbled up—she wanted him gone. Her mories of the future had crushed all trust in him. So why was he still here?

“Fine! Stay if you want—whatever!” she said through clenched teeth.

She wanted to tell him to leave, but couldn’t say it. Ugh, why couldn’t she let go?

She knew what kind of person he really was now—why was she still feeling like this? Was it just because of his face? Was she really that shallow?

Her heart was a ss.

Su Yan didn’t understand. To him, it just seed like she hated him for no reason. She used to be warm—now she looked at him like he was trash. What changed?

He looked at her closely.

She was breathing fast, eyes dark and unreadable. He couldn’t figure her out.

“No idea what’s wrong, but maybe it’s just a misunderstanding?” he asked gently.

She gave him a sharp glare—like he disgusted her. Her eyes said, Don’t talk to .

He sighed again. This was supposed to be an easy task. Why was she acting like this now?

“Okay… you don’t want to talk, I won’t push. I’ll stay here. When you’re ready to leave, just let know.”

She clearly held a grudge. Looked like she wasn’t leaving anyti soon. Guess he had to wait.

“Why though?” he wondered.

His head spun with questions—there was no way she could know anything about the future.

As he turned to leave, she frowned deeply.

She wanted to walk away. So why was he still chasing her? Wanting things to go back to how they were?

As if.
