Su Yan quickly stopped the staring contest. “So, where’s the reward you promised?”

The little fox tilted its head, confused. Wasn’t it standing right in front of him?

Wait a second…

Su Yan frowned. “Don’t tell … you're trying to reward with yourself?”

He was just joking but the fox nodded like it won a jackpot.

“Pfft!”

Su Yan almost coughed up blood. He was hoping for money, rare treasures—at least a ginseng root to make pills!

“Forget it.”

He understood now and shook his head. He didn’t want a pet—Junior Sister was already enough trouble. Why add more?

“Chirp chirp chirp!”

The fox looked heartbroken. Su Yan was such a great catch—kind and strong! It couldn’t just let him go.

It rembered everything…

It had run away from ho because it was curious. Mom had warned it, but it didn’t listen. Now it was out here—hungry and scared.

At ho, life was easy, with food, warm beds, everyone doting on it. But out here? People yelled and hit.

Then, just when things were the worst, a tiger demon almost ate it.

That’s when Su Yan appeared—he killed the tiger, saved its life, healed its wounds.

To the fox, he was a hero!

Its big eyes sparkled with hope as it looked up at him.

“Chirp!”

“…This—”

Su Yan looked like he wanted to scream “No.”

Let’s be honest, he didn’t want to take care of a fox.

He liked pretty girls, not fluffy animals. And this fox was weak—what could it even do for him?

“Chirp~~”

The fox looked so sad. Then it got an idea.

“Chirp chirp chirp!!”

“What now?”

It ran to an open space.

Boom!

Pink mist burst out, filling the air.

Su Yan stared as the ssy little fox turned into a shiny, beautiful one with sleek fur, nice curves, glowing body.

“You’re… that good-looking?”

He blinked, stunned. No way he’d ever think that dirty little thing was this pretty.

“Like an ugly duckling turning into a rich beauty…”

But he shook his head. “Still no. I said no. Go back to the forest.”

He turned to walk away.

The fox panicked. More pink mist swirled around it.

Flash!

A beautiful fox girl appeared with fox ears, soft eyes, fair glowing skin…

Su Yan froze. She wasn’t wearing anything.

Before he could say anything, she turned back into a fox.

He stood there, trying to figure out what just happened. “Wait… was that an illusion?”

Foxes using illusions? Made sense. But was she trying to get revenge now?

Sure, he had joked about eating her, but in the end, he saved her.

“Chirp chirp.”

She pointed to her face, then to the leftover mist.

“That’s your future human form?” he guessed, eyes narrowing.

She nodded quickly, full of hope.

Su Yan crossed his arms. Was this her plan? Use beauty to trap him?

He frowned. He wasn’t that shallow… right?

[Host’s heartbeat detected—choice activated.]

[Option 1: Take in the fox. (Reward: Random Skill Draw)]

[Option 2: Shoo the fox. (Reward: Random Skill Point 1)]

The system popped up. Su Yan fud.

“Explain that ‘heartbeat’ crap! Don’t slander !”

He was a straight shooter—no proof, no accusations.

[No errors detected. All functions are normal. Host, relax.]

Relax? Relax what!

Su Yan’s face darkened. This annoying system—always clear before was now teasing him? Was it making fun of him?

“I know who I am! No need for lectures!”

He grumbled in his head and looked back at the choices.

Send the fox away? He’d get a skill point—that was useful. But the second option caught his eye.

“A random skill? Never seen that before. Must be rare.”

He made up his mind.

“I choose the first option.”

And just to be clear—he wasn’t choosing because of how pretty the fox could be in the future. It was all for the reward.

Kids go for beauty. Grown-ups go for benefits. Don’t mix them up.

He looked at the fox and smiled. “Since you’re so eager, fine. You can co with . But listen—I’m only taking you out of pity. Nothing else.”

The fox was so happy it barely heard the rest.

Yes!

She’d found soone to stay with!

She was thrilled. Living with soone this good-looking every day? Dream co true!

She bounced around, full of joy.

[Task complete. Reward issued.]

[Random skill drawn—Water Transformation.]

Su Yan checked the skill blurb, his eyes lighting up.

[Special Skill—Water Transformation: A racial talent of certain beings. Turns the body to pure water, dodging so physical hits and slipping through tight spots. Freely shifts shape.]

[P.S.: Fire’s its bane—don’t try it in flas.]

He grinned. “Fire weakness aside, this is badass.”
