Capítulo 944: Chapter 347: Divine Dragon Extermination Battle
“Good afternoon~”
The clear and pleasant voice accompanied by a gentle knock on the door drifted into the room.
Soon, there were hurried footsteps inside the room.

The door hadn’t even opened yet, and a voice full of surprise called out:
“Commandery Princess! What brings you here?”
The girl’s clear voice was already familiar to the residents of the imperial capital. She had helped countless people regain hope in life, shaped the empire’s present, and represented its future.
The door was quickly opened by the hoowner—a plainly dressed middle-aged woman standing in the doorway, her face slightly flushed with excitent, eyes filled with both joy and a hint of confusion and concern.
Lately, the city has been far from peaceful.
The unforeseen duel between the Emperor and the Pri Minister demonstrated the empire’s strength, but also attracted more prying eyes from magic creatures.
The nightmare invasion, the increase in small dragon beasts, and the frequent occurrence of ground echoes at night all hinted that this city might soon face destruction, just like their forr hos had.
Under such pressure, even with the Emperor and the Pri Minister present, people couldn’t help but feel restless.
Moreover, not all of humankind had united.
The number of criminals among the refugees was increasing, and there even erged a mad sect, the Dragon Worship Sect, that revered the evil dragon as a god, promoting the idea that humans were born to crawl under the shadow of dragons, to be their slaves, offering loyalty and flesh.
Although these upheavals had not yet affected people’s lives, the empire could already be described as beset by internal and external troubles.
The Hero naturally noticed the unease in the woman’s eyes. She shook her head with a light smile, revealing what she carried in her arms.
“Don’t worry, I’m just here to deliver this to you.”
“What is this…?” The woman cautiously took it, scrutinized it with puzzlent, and then recalled a recent rumor in the city, “A Dreamcatcher?”
“That’s right.” The Hero nodded happily, saving the explanation, “Then I don’t need to explain more, do I?”
Under her personal promotion, the dreamcatchers distributed to citizens to counter the nightmare invasion had gradually beco popular in the city recently.
“Oh…” The woman exclaid in amazent at the item in her hands.
It was a simple decoration composed of three gold and red feathers and a wooden ring, in the middle of which was woven with silk threads into the shape of a rabbit.
“This… I’m really grateful to you, Your Highness.” In addition to gratitude, the woman couldn’t help but feel a trace of doubt, “But for such a small matter, why did you personally deliver it?”
“Because all the decrees have been issued, and I don’t have any urgent matters to handle, so I just thought I’d go out and take a walk, you could even call it an inspection.” The Hero said with a smile, her manner as natural as a neighborhood girl visiting.
The citizen looked sowhat flattered, then noticing that the Hero didn’t seem to be in a hurry, cautiously extended an invitation:
“Um, Commandery Princess, would you like to co in for a cup of tea? Of course, if you have work to do…”
“Sure, you’re the last one on my delivery list today anyway.”
Receiving the Hero’s positive response, the woman’s face lit up with joy, stepping aside quickly, her voice unable to hide the excitent:
“Please co in, having your esteed presence is truly an honor…”
“You’re exaggerating.” The Hero chuckled, shaking her head, and followed the woman inside.

The Hero stepped inside, her gaze briefly sweeping across the warmly and tidily arranged small ho.
A faint scent of herbs lingered in the air, signs indicating that more than one person lived here.
“Isn’t your husband and child here?”
Recalling the information about this family, the Hero asked curiously.
“My husband is guarding the city walls, he’ll return very late.”
The woman deftly brewed a pot of floral tea, unlocking a jar of honey as the steam rose, letting the amber viscous liquid flow slowly into the cup, the sweet aroma taking over, bringing a sparkle to the Hero’s eyes.
“As for the child, you’ve probably already t them earlier, Your Highness.”
The woman set the tea utensils neatly, seeing the Hero show undisguised interest, she too smiled slightly.
“Are they from the practice class?” The Hero nodded in understanding.
“Yes, he’s very diligent, practices until late and even helps collect herbs outside the city afterward.”
Speaking of her family, the woman’s face showed both gentleness and concern.
Stirring the honey into the tea, the Hero took a sip, the floral fragrance and honey sweetness spreading over her tongue, making her contentedly squint her eyes.
Without disturbing her afternoon tea enjoynt, the woman simply picked up the three previously received dreamcatchers, carefully examining them.
The handmade dreamcatchers had similar structures but differed in details. Black and golden threads weaved a rabbit-shaped pattern in the center of the ring, though this rabbit had two horn-like things, unlike any animal or magic creature she knew, resembling both beast and totem.
“Excuse , what is this pattern?” She cautiously asked, after glancing at the Hero who seed quite pleased with the floral tea.
“It’s an Elf Rabbit, a creature said to bring good fortune in legends.” The Hero replied while pouring herself another cup after finishing one.

“Good fortune…”
The woman softly repeated, her gaze drifting among the three dreamcatchers.
The afternoon sunlight slanted in from outside the window, reflecting off the Elf Rabbits in all three dreamcatchers, as though they were dancing with the light, though one appeared slightly dimr.
She quietly glanced at the Hero, said nothing, and put the two more finely crafted ones aside, while placing the slightly inferior one into her own arms.
The Hero lowered his eyelids, as if he hadn’t noticed anything, only the tea in his cup rippled slightly, reflecting those sowhat sorrowful Erald Eyes.
“Do you have only one child?” she suddenly asked softly, “That’s quite rare in the city.”
Unexpectedly, the Pri Minister was concerned about her dostic matters. The woman’s expression was initially surprised, then, after a few seconds of silence, she replied:
“Hmm, we actually planned to have more when we were still in the village… but before we could decide, the Dragon Beast attacked.” She showed a bitter smile.
“But you’ve been here for several years now, right?” The Hero thought for a mont, recalling when her group was brought to the Imperial city.
The woman was montarily speechless, hesitant to speak, as if the following words were hard to articulate.
“Just say whatever it is; don’t worry.” The Hero smiled at her, putting her at ease.
The woman gritted her teeth, slowly opened her mouth: “Commandery Princess… Pri Minister.”
She no longer referred to the Hero’s identity, but instead used his title.
“Is His Majesty about to set out with the army?” Though in her own ho, she still lowered her voice, her gaze unwaveringly fixed on the Hero, with evident unease.
“Can this city… truly be defended?”
Hearing this, the Hero blinked and set down the teacup.
“You are very perceptive.”
In recent days, the Martial Monk had already used the information she provided to research a way to the Land of Dead Dreams and set out again this morning to explore the Dragon Beast’s territory.
It ant that her ntor would soon be able to locate the Ancient Dragon King.
Once her ntor returns with the results of the search, the Hero would order the entire Imperial city to enter a full mobilization stage.
Although not yet announced, the atmosphere in town was already tension before the storm.
The final battle might even be tomorrow.
Although her ntor ventured alone, with the Martial Monk’s abilities, other Dragons and Dragon Beasts could not participate in the battle.
The Hero was not worried about his victory.
However, in other words, once the Martial Monk engages in battle with the Ancient Dragon King, those Dragons and Dragon Beasts will launch an assault on humankind’s settlents.
At that ti, the Imperial city would be the first and last line of defense.
“But since you are so perceptive, you should know that I can’t give you the answer.” The Hero shook his head.
The woman was stunned at his words, then lowered her head with a bitter smile.
“Indeed… I’m sorry, Your Highness, I was being presumptuous.”
“Haven’t you thought about leaving here with your husband?” The Hero asked softly, “Although the journey is long, with your experience in herbalism, it shouldn’t be difficult to head South, right?”
“Your Highness, you…” Upon hearing the Hero’s question, the woman’s expression turned a bit odd.
Then, she poured herself a cup of tea, without honey, and drank it down in one gulp.
After exhaling, the woman spoke calmly.
“Your Highness, I do not fear death, nor do I fear hardship.
“I only fear… that my child would be born into a world without hope.
“If there’s truly no glimr of light, perhaps I would, as you said, escape to a faraway place with my husband and child.
“But this country, and His Majesty, and you too, are here.
“Therefore, I will not leave, even if my contribution is insignificant, there’s still sothing I can do for this country.
“I believe, my husband and child think the sa way.”
The woman raised her head, her gaze firm and passionate. Her words weren’t particularly rousing, yet they exuded an indomitable tenacity.
“Is that so… what you said is quite like what my ntor said.” Hearing the woman’s heartfelt words, the Hero gave a complicated smile and then stood up.
“Thank you for your hospitality, I shall take my leave.”
“With His Majesty? No way; you overestimate .” The woman hurriedly got up to send him off.
With the woman’s respectful farewell, the Hero turned and left, and after walking a distance, he stopped and looked up at the afternoon blue sky, sighing softly:
“This is the last one; the number is much less than expected.”
Though the population of cities in this era wasn’t large to begin with, such a vast city had only so few…
‘Fewer numbers make it easier,’ the other self said lazily, but the Hero couldn’t feel happy.
Lost in thought while walking, unknowingly, the gates of the palace were already near.
Perceiving the familiar presence, the Hero quickened his pace and soon saw that tall figure at the temple gate.
“ntor—” The Hero’s expression was first one of surprise, but then quickly turned serious.
Upon hearing the disciple’s call, before she finished speaking, the Martial Monk turned and nodded slightly.
“Yes, it’s been found.”
