Capítulo 939: Today’s a Happy Day

The dust within the arena slowly dissipated, and the Martial Monk erged from the cracked earth pit, his wounds fading layer by layer with each step. By the ti he reached the Hero, his body had already returned to its original state.

The Hero’s breathing gradually steadied as well, and she grinned towards her master.

Although it was a serious, full-force duel, it was ultimately a sparring match between master and disciple.

Otherwise, with the strength they had unleashed, it wouldn’t be strange if they had wrecked not just the arena but the entire city.

Nevertheless, for the people of this era, such a battle was akin to a miracle. The cheers from the stands roared like waves, countless voices calling out their nas even amid hoarse exhaustion.

The Martial Monk smiled with satisfaction, raising a hand seemingly to pat the Hero’s shoulder, but his arm paused midway and then withdrew.

Noticing her master’s actions, the smile on the Hero’s face also paused as she recalled the abnormal perception from earlier—an evil thought, more formidable than the combined force of millions of Goblins, was deeply hidden within the man before her.

Aware of this, she felt no fear or alertness but rather a trace of bitterness.

“I hate this bald head,” the Depraved Hero said coldly.

“Clearly twisted to the extre, with progress off the charts, yet still pretending as if nothing has been tainted.”

Ignoring her other self’s sarcastic remarks, the Hero took a deep breath and stepped forward before the Martial Monk could speak, giving him a big bear hug.

“Ma—ster—I’ve won!”

In a voice that was loud enough for the entire arena to hear, the Hero shouted by the Martial Monk’s ear.

The Martial Monk’s expression montarily froze, then softened. He raised a hand and gently patted her back.

“Yes, remarkable indeed, truly my disciple.”

A gentle Magic Power seeped into the girl’s back from his palm, making the Depraved Hero shriek in protest.

“What is this!? This is my turf! Go away, go away, go away—”

Although the Depraved Hero no longer relied on the Curse to exist, and the Magic Patterns representing both curse and blessing had long faded, they would not manifest unless deliberately triggered.

Yet the past experience of being choked by the Four-winged King still lingered in her mind. Upon sensing the Martial Monk’s Magic Power, the Black Phoenix’s totem faintly appeared on the Hero’s back, seemingly ready to peck at the large hand.

However, the Hero blinked and silently suppressed her other self’s protest, causing the totem to vanish again.

“You traitor—”

The Martial Monk sensed sothing, laughed helplessly, and whispered:

“Calm down, this is a gift from your master… Consider it an apprenticeship completion gift.”

“Hmm, that’s more like it.”

The transfer of Magic Power ended, and the two separated. The Hero’s figure gradually shrank back to its original height.

Curiously, she sensed her back and discovered a faint emblem imprinted there, approximately palm-sized, with a familiar structure.

“Is this… a Noble’s emblem?”

[Hero’s Charm 12, obtained Northern Empire Noble Emblem: Founding County Princess]

When she was decorated at the Border, the Fourteenth Princess had also left a similar imprint, stacking onto the stigmata on her leg, symbolizing the identity of a Military rit Duke.

With that imprint, wherever she went in the Kingdom, as long as it remained under central control, she could enjoy the treatnt due to a Noble.

Though she seemingly never really enjoyed anything as a Noble, she clearly understood the importance of this emblem.

Whether in the Empire or the Kingdom, the inheritance of noble status is a solemn affair.

And as the sole proof of identity and honor, the managent of a Noble’s emblem is tens of tis stricter than that of a Professional Mark.

Only the Royal Family and a few large Lords have the authority to grant emblems.

Any attempts to forge, misuse, or alter an emblem are indisputable capital offenses.

Moreover, the inheritance of an emblem is lengthy and cumberso, requiring nurous confirmations and verifications, and can only take place with mutual witness from a Professional Guild and the Kingdom Governnt.

The dramas involving love and hatred for the fight over heir identity are common in noble families.

But this nation had only been established for four years, and the Hero never seriously considered these matters, only occasionally ntioning them to the Martial Monk.

Yet unexpectedly, her master, the hands-off emperor, had already figured it out.

Just as the Hero sensed the emblem, the Martial Monk suddenly lifted one of her hands, looked up at all the spectators in the arena, and boldly announced:

“In the presence of everyone here! My great disciple officially graduates today—And I shall bestow upon her the title of Imperial Princess!

Our Pri Minister has dedicated his life to this country, and as you all know, I have no offspring. Therefore, from today, she shall also beco the legitimate heir to the Empire!”

The crowd held their breath as if ti had paused for a mont.

The Empire now had an heir, a future—this fact filled the hearts of these forrly displaced people with an indescribable emotion, even causing tears to well up and embrace each other.

“From this day forward, this nation will continue to flourish!”

The largest cheer of the day erupted, sweeping across the sky, so loud it nearly dispersed the clouds.

And amidst the roaring mountains and seas, after listening to the Martial Monk’s proclamation, the Hero, though surprised inside, did not utter a word.

In history, although not entirely the sa, the young girl who once was must have received the empire’s authority similarly from her ntor’s hands.

“Alright—let’s start the banquet!” The Martial Monk laughed heartily and waved his hand.

With the Emperor’s command, attendants and chefs who had been waiting for a long ti poured into the venue from all directions.

Cannons blared, fireworks blood, people sang and danced, and the whole city was imrsed in a sea of joy.

Though it began as a sudden whim of the ntor’s sparring, the ensuing celebration lasted the whole night.

Though in the theater of events, the passage of ti was not real, the wonderful atmosphere of the celebration still influenced the Hero, as she returned to the palace with her smile unashadly intact.

‘The ntor seed very happy too and even drank alcohol.’

Perhaps because he had suppressed his rank, the Martial Monk no longer held his usual aloof deanor, and the citizens were less afraid of him, thus His Majesty the Emperor celebrated with the people, allowing the Hero to witness a new side of him.

‘He probably couldn’t hold it any longer, a creature like the Evil Dragon managing to be so abstinent for so long.’ The Depraved Hero chuckled lightly.

Hearing this, the smile faded from the Hero’s face, and she sighed softly.

‘The ntor… has almost completely rged with the Dragon Soul, becoming a Demon.’

This truth, never noticed before, was only discovered after truly clashing with the Martial Monk.

In history, the ntor likely perished together with the Ancient Dragon King, with their souls remaining entangled until the mont before falling into reincarnation and being intercepted by the Wandering Theater.

Despite the ntor retaining the will of a human, over these long years, his essence had long been distorted.

For an ordinary person, perhaps they could not co to such a certain conclusion. But after defeating the ntor and absorbing so of his strength, the Hero, though reluctant in her heart, could only accept this reality.

The ntor was no longer humankind.

The theater’s persistent performances of the sa history repeatedly probably believed that a soul already changed in essence could not withstand various temptations for long.

And she, being an outsider, had never been discovered or eliminated, probably because of her strong charm, recognized by the theater.

Rather than delving into the origin of this unknown actor, it was more crucial not to miss the Martial Monk’s opportunity to wander.

After canceling her Giant Beastification, the Hero’s mind turned swiftly, and her restored wisdom realized many things at once.

‘We were a little careless.’ The girl reflected on her recklessness.

No matter the factors and surprises, they could eventually be incorporated into the performance to advance the desired plot—this was the terror of the Wandering Theater.

However, the Martial Monk, also aware of the anomaly, regarded the outsider Hero as an opportunity not to be missed.

After all, no matter how many tis the past was replayed, the object was always the actors manipulated by the theater. Even if the Martial Monk did not awaken, he would not easily open his heart.

Therefore, the Hero was probably the first to push his relationship to this extent.

Another question remained: when would the turning point co?

This wasn’t true history, nor so everyday-life drama, when the plot reached a certain stage, a turning point to promote the next phase was bound to arrive.

In history, how did the Martial Monk and “she” discover the Ancient Dragon King, and how did they encounter the Wandering Theater?

The day of finding answers would not be far away…

The Hero lay down on the bed, slowly drifting into slumber.
