Chapter 506: Chapter D187: Return 2

Other than the Gleaming Scale Serpent, her familiar, she had never confided much about family matters to either the Noble Lady or the Princess,

but both of them were astute individuals. The Hero was yet unsure of the Noble Lady’s stance, but it was clear that the Princess had already sensed so clues.

At this mont, her lips curled into a calm smile, but her eyes were solemn, as if preparing for an impending battle.

The Hero had no doubt that the Fourteenth Princess was already ntally prepared to engage in verbal sparring with her own family, making her a little uneasy.

But what must be faced, must be faced.

The bird carriage ca to a stop, and the Hero took a deep breath, standing up swiftly.

She opened the carriage door and jumped out, her eyes eting the familiar, long-missed entrance of her ho, not seen for over half a year.

Contrary to the complexities in her heart, her actions were deft and easy; after all, ti and emotion, no matter how weighty, cannot truly beco physical shackles.

Staring at the familiar mansion and garden beyond the door, the Hero clenched her fist slightly, then stepped out resolutely.

Upon seeing the scene beyond the door, the Hero’s step paused; through the ornate iron bars, she looked in surprise at the bustling people within the courtyard.

Among them, she saw several familiar maids, all busy at work, either moving items or tidying the garden.

The entire courtyard buzzed with activity, like they were preparing for sothing significant.

“Should I say the timing is just right, or is it not the best ti? It seems they’re preparing for a banquet.”

The elegantly dressed Fourteenth Princess followed close behind; greeted by the Demon Hunter, she descended the carriage slowly, glancing around the courtyard, a hint of surprise crossing her brow.

Nobles love to host banquets; it’s a well-known fact.

And regardless of the size, preparing for a banquet is often very tedious, especially large ones, which might require days or even a week of prior arrangent. Even small banquets necessitate the entire mansion’s servants to start bustling from early morning.

Yet the Hero, looking at this scene, had a sowhat puzzled expression.

Their family, being a Military rit Duke, had a style vastly different from ordinary nobles.

Her father, who valued personal strength, though never openly scornful of other nobles, maintained a consistently aloof attitude towards such social interactions, almost indifferent.

If not for this, the Hero, as the daughter of the Viscount, would not have been allowed to run around with her close friends all day, not even knowing several noble n of marriageable age.

At this mont, the luxurious bird carriage parked outside the door had obviously caught the attention of the servants. A maid responsible for reception quickly walked out from a small door to greet them.

Though the carriage bore no noble emblem, its luxurious texture still radiated an undeniable aura of nobility. Not to ntion, the presence of the Hero and the Fourteenth Princess was undeniably eye-catching.

Even though the identities of the two were not yet confird, those working in the Viscount Mansion were generally not dull; they could imdiately deduce the noble status of the two before them. The maid, not daring to be negligent, bowed respectfully before speaking.

“Welco to you, honorable guests.”

“Are you here to attend the young master’s Victory Banquet?”

The maid’s voice was crisp and steady, her head bowed as if maintaining respect, yet her eyes couldn’t help but sneak a peek upward, like a magnet drawing her gaze to the two young ladies before her.

As a servant, she knew quite well that it was impolite to scrutinize guests in this manner.

But despite knowing this was wrong, she couldn’t control her gaze, as if not seizing the chance to take a few more glances from up close would be a trendous loss.

What beautiful girls…

Working in the Viscount’s House, she earned a good salary and had a few suitors, but before these two won, she felt no different from a roadside pebble—not even a hint of jealousy could arise.

“However, the banquet hasn’t started yet…” the maid added, a little distressed.

But could it be that even such beautiful young won would be drawn here by the young master’s achievents?

Although the young master was usually cold to others, this did not prevent the maid from feeling a sense of shared honor and glory.

“Victory Banquet? Brother’s?” The Hero’s erald eyes blinked lightly, faintly repeating, her tone carrying a hint of curiosity.

“Has Brother achieved sothing noteworthy?” she inquired out of curiosity.

Not here for the banquet? Brother?

The Hero’s words left the Maid montarily stunned; it was the first ti she looked up, eting the Hero’s gaze directly.

Before answering, the Maid’s gaze unconsciously lingered on the Hero’s face once more, staring blankly for a few seconds. Then finally, from the pitiful girl who was cast out of the house, she recognized traces of her amidst the captivating erald eyes and ink-like green hair of this captivating young lady.

It turns out to be the eldest lady… how did she co back? How has she beco so beautiful now…

A myriad of questions surfaced in the Maid’s heart, but they were temporarily suppressed. She painstakingly organized her words, focusing on answering the Hero’s question.

“Eldest Lady, the young master made incredible achievents recently!

“Tonight, the city’s bigwigs—even the City Lord himself will attend the banquet, and I heard he might even bring so of the eligible Noble Ladies…”

Speaking of the banquet’s main character and the Hero’s brother’s accomplishnts, the Maid’s tone was filled with genuine pride.

The Hero’s Charm left her without any hint of disguise, her expression openly showing pride and honor.

While these words brought joy to the young lady’s heart, they also left her feeling a slight twinge of lancholy.

Their family’s servants, though not as well-trained as the Royal Family attendants in the Princess’s convoy, were certainly not ignorant by any ans.

To make Father break precedence and hold a banquet, and to see the maids so thrilled, and to even see that their first reaction upon seeing was that it was aid at the banquet’s main character, shows the magnitude of this Victory Banquet.

No wonder it’s brother…

After all her training, even though she thought she had defeated many Magic Creatures and beca a Noble Lord, perhaps surpassing her brother was still too naive?

But when such thoughts arose in her heart, a stubborn defiance not to lose surged up from deep within.

Noticing the change in the Hero’s expression, the Maid suddenly gasped, recalling the Hero’s awkward position in the Viscount’s House.

Although the servants didn’t witness the night the Hero was expelled with their own eyes, they had heard rumors.

And up until now, they hadn’t received any notification to welco the eldest lady back.

Thinking of this, the Maid opened her mouth, feeling a slight pang of hurt.

“Eldest Lady, this ti you’ve returned…” The concern outweighed the sense of duty, and she was just about to inquire about the Hero’s purpose to find a way to arrange sothing.

“Hello, could you detail the achievents of the Viscount’s House’s young master? After all, I’m a bit curious too.”

The nearby Fourteenth Princess suddenly interjected with a smile, her smile carrying a hint of inquiry and an irrefutable calmness.
