I made my way to find shelter: an underground train station, where in my first entrance, I found a asly dagger. I put it inside my bloodied scrub’s pocket.

While I had planned to find shade under an abandoned building, this was the nearest and possibly safest, for the buildings were just begging to crash.

The bulbs were still working decently so I managed to find my way inside. The station seed to have been flooded but dissipated as there were still remaining puddles of water.

There were also muddy footprints.

Were there any people here? The sight of it made wonder, but I was too tired to even think.

Since I had been running in search of a shelter for more than half an hour now, I imdiately collapsed once I entered the subway train, which had cushioned seats that I decided to lay on.

I had hoped for the best that deviln or behemoths wouldn’t disturb .

Once I was comfortable, still laying down, I opened my statistics.

It wouldn’t hurt to increase my endurance more, considering I had a hard ti running around since I was so out of shape.

Perhaps the others as well...

The skill I had recently received was a familiar one, truth be told.

It was the very skill Junhan Jang, in the novel, had used to sacrifice his sight.

For what reason, to simply get the points.

It was a dire ti during the first few years of the creation of The Federation. Junhan was one of the marauders and thieves that founded The Federation.

They did not expect their group to turn into such a large community that they did not have enough resources for them.

But they did not turn them away.

They recruited people to join their ranks, eventually resulting in the first set of Knights d’Columbus.

Junhan, as its lieutenant, recruited Harry, who happened to inherit a large amount of money after his parents died, to beco a squad captain, all while Ben was still a asly squire of only eleven.

With the lack of funds, Junhan sold his sight for a re five thousand points. It was not long when Harry realized their need of funds and began helping them with Junhan’s hesitance.

Even I, the amateur writer, did not know where the sacrifice went. Maybe hell.

It wasn’t enough, so his sacrifice had been in vain.

Personally, I did not have any reason for to sacrifice any part of my body.

Maybe a leg, since I could just use a prosthetic. Definitely not my arms. Maybe my skin, but the chances are low that I’d still be alive.

Would blood work, I wonder.

I sighed deeply, lanting the stress I had gotten just from looking for shelter. Surely I should’ve been used to it after having spent a decade in the dical industry.

Thinking of the syringe gun that Ben had strapped to his belt, I fell into a deep thought.

The tis of writing Imperfect Knight ca back to , slowly but surely.

Now, please understand that I don’t miss that era of my life.

Quite the contrary, it was one of the worst parts.

My mother and brother passed away in the span of a year.

And, my father who was a deadbeat piece of shit sent to a ntal ward, afraid that I would turn out like my elder brother.

That was when, I think, the story of Imperfect Knight appeared before : a newly invented laptop was received by in the ntal ward.

The ti I spent in the ntal ward was less than two years.

With a sudden interest in language, at my release, I took up linguistics in college.

It was a dark ti in my life, so could you bla that Imperfections of a Knight was just as dark?

During my ti in college it definitely got watered down, though. Imperfect Knight had earned its first few beta readers, then, and they definitely helped make the story sound more mature and more engaging for the readers.

The first few rounds, I admit, were badly written.

I gave it a lot of deus ex machina and tried my worst at highly intelligent characters.

So, in truth, I did not expect the next few rounds to be easy or consistent.

Other than that, I wondered what anomaly I was bound to get.

I knew more than anyone the horrors of receiving an anomaly.

Flashbacks of what I had written once upon a ti ca to .

The words were so clear to as I had written it that it felt like the characters were truly screaming in agony right next to my ear.

Right then, I felt like I could hear their shrill cries for help. Their hands as it wrapped around my neck, as I did with Lucas, begging to make it stop.

Their pain ca from my fingertips monotone typing on a laptop.

Eventually, after spotting a pure white figure from afar, my eyes began to feel heavier.

—Reverie, who had been tired and restless, fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.

-

It was a peaceful slumber.

But the sound of a train’s locomotion awakened .

A reflection of light from a man’s glasses pierced through my eyelids.

"You may be wondering why I brought all of you here..."
