Gasps echoed through the wedding hall. Everyone started whispering. A few guests even stood up, their eyes wide in shock.
Sheng Yin took a deep breath and kept going.
"Qi Bailu loved Sheng Xin. But after she died, he ca back to . He said he wanted to marry , but it was all fake. He just wanted to save his image.
Not to ntion, he was my first boyfriend, but he cheated on with Sheng Xin, and here is the proof."
With that, Sheng Yin clapped her hands, and the bright screen displayed so photos of Sheng Yin and Qi Bailu.
Beside them was the tadata proving the fact that they dated.
Then the image changed to Qi Bailu and Sheng Xin, both of them wrapped in sheets, and the date was just a day after than the first photo.
Qi Bailu looked panicked now. "That’s not true! Don’t listen to her!"
Sheng Yin glared at him.
"You lied to ! You never loved . You just couldn’t stand being left behind after my sister was gone."
People were staring now. Phones were up, recording everything.
"And my parents," Sheng Yin said, turning to look at them.
"They knew. They knew about everything, but they still made do this. Why? Because of power. Because of money."
Her mother stood up, her face red. "Yin! Enough! Sit down!"
"No!" Sheng Yin shouted. Her voice echoed through the hall. "You abandoned to a nanny who tortured for more than 2 years! I suffered so much underhand.
Do you know that she forced to wash clothes during cold weather? Do you know she took away all of my clothes and gave her daughter’s hand out?
Do you know she locked outside the house at night? I was only five! I cried and begged, but no one ca."
The guests gasped again. A few ladies put their hands over their mouths. Even so n looked uncomfortable.
"She didn’t let eat dinner if I made a mistake. And she hit with a broom when I got sick and couldn’t clean fast enough."
Her voice shook, and her eyes were glassy now.
"And all this ti, you never ca to see . Not once. You said you were busy. But I was just a child, and I needed my parents."
Her eldest brother stood up this ti, his voice loud and angry.
"You’re being dramatic! That woman raised you for us—"
"No, she didn’t raise ," Sheng Yin snapped.
"She treated like trash. And you let her. You let her because you were too busy with your own studies."
She turned toward her parents and said with hatred in her eyes,
"You both promised after knowing the truth that you will make it up to . But what did you in the end?
Went ahead, had a love child nad Sheng Xin, and forced to give up everything I had. Even my first boyfriend.
You didn’t punish Sheng Xin for stealing my boyfriend, instead, you kicked out of the house at the age of 19 just because I slapped Sheng Xin."
Gasps rang out again. So people even dropped their phones in shock. The whole hall was filled with whispers.
Sheng Yin’s hands were shaking, but she kept talking.
"You told I was jealous. You told I was crazy. But how could I not be angry when my own sister took the one person I trusted?"
She looked right at her mom.
"You said it was just a misunderstanding. But I saw them! I saw them together! And instead of helping , you chose her. Again."
Her father stood up, his face dark. "Sheng Yin, that’s enough. You’re embarrassing the family!"
Sheng Yin laughed, but there was no joy in it.
"Embarrassing? I’ve been embarrassed my whole life. You just never noticed."
She took off her veil and threw it to the ground.
"I wore this dress because you told to. I stood here today because you made . But from now on, I’ll live for myself."
Qi Bailu tried to walk toward her, but she stepped back.
"Don’t. You don’t love . You never did. You just needed soone to fill Sheng Xin’s place so people wouldn’t pity you."
"I—" he started, but she cut him off.
"You used . And I let you, because I wanted to believe soone loved . But I’m done with lies."
Tears stread down her face, but her voice stayed strong.
"I’m not weak anymore. And I’m not your puppet."
She turned back to the guests and bowed slightly.
"I would also like to make one more announcent, I am serving ties with the Sheng Family. In future, my sorrows and joy will have nothing to do with them." She said firmly.
Mrs. Sheng stood up slowly. Her hands were trembling as she stepped forward. Her eyes were wet now, and her lipstick was smudged.
"Yin..." she said in a shaky voice. "Please... don’t say that. Don’t be so angry, okay? We... we didn’t an to hurt you. I’m sorry. I’m truly sorry."
But Sheng Yin didn’t move. Her face was cold, like she’d turned into ice.
"You’re sorry now?" she asked, her voice flat.
"Where was this sorry when I begged you to believe ? When I had no food, no clothes, and no one to hold ?"
Mrs. Sheng opened her mouth, but nothing ca out.
She looked around, embarrassed. People were watching, whispering. Soone near the back even coughed awkwardly.
Then Mr. Sheng stood up, straightening his suit jacket. His voice was deep and loud, like he was trying to sound important.
"Yin, enough. You’ve said your piece. You’ve embarrassed us enough for one day."
Sheng Yin’s eyes narrowed, but he didn’t stop.
"You’re still young. You don’t understand how hard it is to keep a family together. Yes, we made mistakes. But we are your parents. No matter what happened, we gave you life. We raised you."
Sheng Yin laughed bitterly.
"You raised ?" she said. "That woman raised . And not with love—with bruises."
Mr. Sheng frowned.
"No matter what, you must forgive. A good daughter respects her parents. The past is the past. We can’t change it. So stop acting like a spoiled child and co back to your senses."
Sheng Yin stared at him, her hands clenched into fists.
"Respect? You want to respect people who turned their backs on ? Who threw away like garbage?"
He looked angry now. "Yin—!"
"No," she cut him off, her voice sharp.
"You don’t get to tell what to do anymore. You had your chance. You chose her. You let suffer. You told to forget, but you never even apologized."
Mrs. Sheng took a step forward again, crying now.
"We didn’t know... we thought... we thought you’d be okay. We made a mistake. Please, don’t leave like this. You’re still our daughter."
But Sheng Yin wiped her tears with the back of her hand and stood tall.
"You only want back because people are watching. You want to look like a happy family in front of the caras."
She looked at the guests, then back at her parents.

"I’m done playing this role. I’m done pretending."
She turned and started walking down the aisle, away from the altar, away from Qi Bailu, away from everything.
Her wedding dress dragged behind her, white and shining, but her steps were strong and full of fire.
Just as she was about to reach the entrance, soone held her hand.
Sheng Yin turned around sharply, ready to pull away. But when she looked, it wasn’t her mother or father. It wasn’t Qi Bailu either.
It was her younger cousin, Shen Rui. The quiet one.
The one who always sat in the corner during family gatherings, the one who once brought her a bandage after she scraped her knee at a birthday party years ago when no one else noticed.
His eyes were red, but he wasn’t crying. He looked at her, firm but gentle.
"Jie... you don’t have to go alone," he said softly.
Sheng Yin blinked, not expecting that. Her body was tense, like a string pulled too tight, but Shen Rui’s hand was warm.
"I always thought what happened to you wasn’t fair," he continued. "I was just a kid, but I saw it. I saw how they treated you. I just... I didn’t have the courage to say anything."
He looked down for a mont, then back at her. "But I do now. You’re not alone anymore."
For the first ti that day, Sheng Yin’s eyes softened.
Her lips trembled, and her fingers slowly uncurled from the tight fists she didn’t realize she was making.
Then, to everyone’s surprise, another voice spoke up from the crowd.
"I saw it too," said an aunt from the bride’s side, stepping forward.
"Back then, I told your mother it wasn’t right to leave you with that nanny. But no one listened."
