It was dizzying. Overwhelming.

Sheng Yin could barely breathe, barely think.

He was everywhere.

Her knees felt weak. If he wasn’t holding her, she might have collapsed.

Finally, when she thought she might pass out from lack of air, Yu Shuchang pulled back just slightly, their lips still brushing.

His forehead rested against hers, his breath warm and uneven.

"See?" he whispered, his voice husky. "You didn’t have to hold back. I am all yours."

Sheng Yin’s face burned. Her mind was blank.

She had kissed him.

No—he had kissed her.

And worst of all...

She liked it.

Sheng Yin’s breath was shaky. Her heart was still racing, but now, her mind was screaming at her even louder.

No! She couldn’t let herself fall for him again.

In her past life, she had loved him. She had waited, hoping, thinking that maybe... just maybe, he would look at her the sa way.

But he never did.

Back then, Yu Shuchang had been cold. Distant. He only treated her as a responsibility, nothing more.

Even when she tried so hard to be close to him, he never gave her a chance. He never saw her as a woman.

And now... now he was suddenly obsessed with her?

Sheng Yin clenched her fists. No. She wouldn’t let him play with her feelings again.

She pushed against his chest, forcing him to step back. Her eyes were sharp, and her voice, though a little shaky, was firm.

"Don’t think you can fool with just one kiss, Yu Shuchang!" she snapped.

Yu Shuchang raised an eyebrow, his lips curving into a smirk.

"Fool you? I never said I was fooling you."

Sheng Yin took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart.

"You... You were never like this before! Why now? Why are you suddenly saying all these things?"

Yu Shuchang’s smile faded just a little. He looked at her quietly, his dark eyes unreadable. Then, he chuckled softly.

"Was I? For the past one month, I wasn’t. People change, Yin." His voice was deep, smooth, and far too dangerous.

"And maybe... I realized too late what I really wanted."

Sheng Yin’s heart clenched.

No. She couldn’t believe him.

She wouldn’t believe him.

"You are doing this because your mother is forcing you to marry , right?" Sheng Yin questioned with certainty.

Yu Shuchang blinked, then let out a soft chuckle.

"My mother?" he repeated, tilting his head. "You really think I’m the kind of man who lets my mother control my life?"

Sheng Yin crossed her arms, trying to look confident even though her heart was still beating too fast.

"Isn’t that the reason? She must be pressuring you, so now you’re acting all obsessed with . Wasn’t that the reason why you made sign the contract?"

Yu Shuchang sighed, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Sheng Yin, do you really think I would go this far just because of so family pressure?"

She hesitated.

That was true... Yu Shuchang had never been the type to listen to anyone. He always did what he wanted, no matter what others said.

But still, she couldn’t trust him so easily.

"I don’t believe you," she said, her voice softer this ti.

"It’s alright, we have a long way to go." Yu Shuchang smiled as he pushed behind the lock of hair grazing her cheeks.

Sheng Yin stepped back and created so distance between them.

"I don’t think so. Maybe you are mistaking responsibilities as love..."

Yu Shuchang was about to reply to her when Sheng Yin’s phone rang.

His eyes fell on the caller ID and his eyes darkened.

Sheng Yin noticing his gaze looked at her phone and was silent for a long while. Qi Bailu was calling her.

But why?

This person had cheated on her and degraded her saying she would never be as beautiful and cute as her younger sister.

So why was he calling her now?

Yu Shuchang looked at Sheng Yin who was in deep thought and closed the distance between them.

Before Sheng Yin could react, he buried his face in the crook of her neck and whined,

"I am truly the most unlucky man on the earth...I just confessed and instead of answering back, my crush is thinking about her ex!"

His warm breath sprayed on Sheng Yin’s nape, making her shiver.

Sheng Yin quickly snapped out of her daze and pushed against Yu Shuchang’s shoulders.

"W-Who is thinking about him?! Don’t talk nonsense!"

Yu Shuchang didn’t move away. Instead, he tightened his hold on her, his voice full of fake sadness.

"Then why are you staring at his na like that? Should I be jealous? Should I block his number for you?"

Sheng Yin’s face turned red. "You—! Stop acting childish!"

Yu Shuchang sighed dramatically.

"I just confessed, and now my love rival is calling you. How can I not be sad?"

Sheng Yin gritted her teeth. "He is nothing to !"

Yu Shuchang lifted his head and looked into her eyes. "Good. Then don’t answer."

Sheng Yin froze.

The phone kept ringing in her hand. The na "Qi Bailu" flashed again and again, but for so reason, she hesitated to pick it up.

She had promised herself she would never let this man affect her again.

She had moved on. She didn’t need to hear anything from him.

With a deep breath, she turned off the phone and looked up at Yu Shuchang.

"See? I didn’t answer."

Yu Shuchang smiled, satisfied. "Good girl."

Sheng Yin’s face heated up. "Shut up!"

Yu Shuchang chuckled and pulled her closer, resting his chin on the top of her head.

"I’m serious, you know," he murmured.

Sheng Yin stiffened. "...About what?"

"About you. About us." His voice was warm and steady.

"You don’t have to answer now. But I’ll wait. However long it takes. I will make you believe that I am not mistaking my responsibilities as love."

Sheng Yin’s heart skipped a beat and fireworks exploded in her heart.

Maybe...maybe...Yu Shuchang...truly loved her...

’No! What are you thinking? If he loved you, then what about your previous life? Why did he fall in love with Susan?’

With a conflicted expression, Sheng Yin could only stay silent.

...............................................

A day passed.

Yu Holea woke up to find that both Sheng Yin and Qiao Li were missing.

Yawning she washed up before doing her worshipping and cultivation.

At 7 am, she received a call from Luo Murong.

"Holea, we can’t arrest Yu i. All the evidence that you have submitted has vanished."

"What about backup?" Yu Holea asked.

"They are sohow deleted too." Luo Murong’s voice sounded a bit strained as if he was suppressing his anger.

Yu Holea wasn’t angry, she said,

"I have backups I will send you the evidence again."

"Alright."

Yu Holea took out the pendrive she had hidden in her space and copied the evidence in her laptop before sending it to Luo Murong.

"Thank you Holea! I will submit them...eh? How did it get deleted again?"

Yu Holea frowned. "Deleted again?"

"Yeah! I just saved the files, but now they’re all gone!" Luo Murong sounded frustrated.

"This isn’t normal. Soone’s tampering with the system."

Yu Holea’s expression darkened. "I see."

She quickly checked her own files, but just as she suspected—her copies were disappearing too.

Soone was targeting the evidence directly.

Her fingers tightened around the phone.

"Murong, this isn’t just so small hacker. Soone powerful is behind this."

Luo Murong clicked his tongue.

"No kidding. They’re making sure Yu i never gets arrested."

Yu Holea was silent for a mont before saying, "I’ll handle it."

"You? Be careful, Holea. Whoever’s doing this isn’t simple."

"I know." She hung up and took a deep breath.

Who was protecting Yu i so desperately?

No, the real question was—how were they erasing even her backup files?

She had stored so of them in places even high-level hackers wouldn’t find.

That ant... this was beyond normal hacking.

Yu Holea’s eyes turned cold. "A cultivator?"

Hacking wasn’t easy, but there were still so hackers who could delete all the files even before they reached the cloud.

However, she had never heard of a hacker who easily deletes the files the mont they are uploaded.

Not until and unless...a cultivator was involved.

During her ti in Goddess City, Yu Holea had co across many cases.

One of them was about a cultivator who could erase things from reality itself.

If such a person was involved, then deleting files from a system would be easy for them.

Yu Holea’s eyes narrowed. She had to find out who was behind this.

She quickly pulled out a talisman from her space ring and pressed it against the laptop.

Her spiritual sense spread out, searching for any traces of energy left behind by the person who deleted the files.

A few seconds passed.

Then—there it was!

A faint, almost invisible trace of energy lingering in the air. It was weak, but it was definitely there.

Yu Holea’s lips curled into a smirk.

So they thought they could erase everything without leaving a single clue? Too bad for them.
