Old Hao chuckled over the phone, his voice laced with amusent.

"A favor, huh? You always co to with the most interesting requests, Cai. What is it this ti?"

Grandma Cai’s smile deepened, but there was a sharpness in her eyes.

"I need you to make sure Yu i stays exactly where she is. No early release and no legal loopholes. I want her to face every consequence she deserves."

There was a pause on the other end of the line before Old Hao spoke again, his tone turning serious.

"That’s a tall order. Mr. Yu will pull every string he can to get her out. He’s not a man who gives up easily."

"I know," Grandma Cai replied smoothly.

"That’s why I need soone with influence to ensure the law isn’t bent in his favor. You still have contacts within the judiciary, don’t you?"

Old Hao humd thoughtfully.

"I do. And I might be able to make sure the case remains airtight. But what’s in it for ?"

Grandma Cai chuckled.

"Oh, co now, Old Hao. Have I ever let a favor go unpaid? You help now, and when the ti cos, I’ll owe you one. And you know my word is as good as gold."

There was another brief silence before Old Hao let out a low laugh.

"Fine. Consider it done. But be careful, Cai. Mr. Yu is dangerous when cornered. He won’t take this lying down."

"Neither will I," she murmured before ending the call.

Yu i sat rigidly on the cold tal bench of her holding cell, her fingers curled loosely in her lap, her eyes lowered in feigned despondency.

She had expected another visit from her father or perhaps Leng Huan, but when the guard announced her visitor was an old woman, she was surprised.

Could it be one of her fans? Or perhaps one of the few industry contacts still willing to associate with her?

However, the mont she laid eyes on the elderly woman who entered, recognition sparked in her gaze. Cai Bao.

Her heart quickened, excitent flaring briefly in her chest before she tamped it down.

She forced a sad, vulnerable expression onto her face, letting her lips quiver slightly as if holding back tears.

"Yu i," Cai Bao greeted her, her tone laced with concern as she stepped closer to the visitation partition.

Her eyes, though kind, held an unreadable depth.

"How are you, child? How did this happen?"

Yu i let out a shaky breath, her shoulders trembling delicately as she lowered her gaze, as if the weight of her predicant were too much to bear.

"I... I don’t know, Grandma," she whispered, her voice laced with helplessness.

"Everything happened so suddenly. The police barged in, they accused of all these cris... but I swear, I don’t understand why. I don’t know what I did to deserve this."

A flicker of sympathy passed over Cai Bao’s face, but her eyes remained sharp, watching Yu i carefully.

"Are you saying soone frad you?" she asked, her voice gentle but probing.

Yu i hesitated just long enough to make it seem as though she were debating whether or not to confide in her.

Then, as if overwheld with emotion, she nodded weakly.

"I... I think so," she murmured. "There’s only one person who would go this far to destroy ."

Cai Bao leaned in slightly, her brows furrowing. "Who?"

Yu i inhaled shakily before whispering, "Yu Holea."

The na was t with a beat of silence. Cai Bao’s expression darkened slightly, her lips pressing into a thin line.

"Yu Holea? Are you talking about my grandson’s fiancée?"

Yu i looked up, feigning hesitation before nodding.

"Yes... Aunt Bao, I don’t want to cause trouble, but you have to know—she hates . I don’t know why, but she has always despised ."

Cai Bao’s sharp gaze didn’t waver. "Hates you? Why would she go to such lengths?"

Yu i bit her lip, casting her eyes downward as if reluctant to speak. "I... I want to tell you a secret," she murmured.

Cai Bao’s brows arched slightly, but she gestured for Yu i to continue.

Taking a deep, shuddering breath, Yu i leaned in, her voice dropping to an almost conspiratorial whisper.

"Yu Holea has always liked Leng Huan," she revealed, watching Cai Bao’s reaction carefully.

"But when she found out that he liked instead, she... she changed."

Cai Bao’s eyes narrowed slightly. "Changed how?"

Yu i exhaled, allowing a fresh tear to slip down her cheek.

"She turned around and seduced Qiao Jun."

The reaction was imdiate. Cai Bao’s eyes widened slightly, her composed deanor wavering for the first ti.

"Are you talking about my grandson, Qiao Jun?"

Yu i nodded solemnly.

"Yes, Aunt Bao. Yu Holea knew that Qiao Jun was the one I liked. But she didn’t care. She wanted to ruin in every way possible.

First, she took him from . And now... she’s trying to take everything else."

Cai Bao was silent for a long mont, her expression unreadable. But Yu i, beneath her mask of sorrow, was elated.

The seed of doubt had been planted.

"So you knew my grandson was Qiao Jun and hence approached ?" Grandma Cai asked.

Her completely different question surprised Yu i.

Shouldn’t Cai Bao be more concerned about her grandson?

Yu i’s mind whirred for a split second, but she quickly composed herself, lowering her gaze as though burdened by sha.

She hadn’t anticipated that question, but she couldn’t afford to falter now.

"I—" She swallowed, letting hesitation seep into her voice.

"I didn’t approach you with ulterior motives, Grandma. I swear. I only wanted to confide in soone who might understand... soone who might see the truth."

Cai Bao studied her carefully, her gaze unreadable.

After a mont, the old woman sighed. "You do realize this is a serious accusation?"

Yu i bit her lip, forcing fresh tears to well up in her eyes.

"I know," she whispered.

"And I wouldn’t have said anything if it weren’t true. But look at where I am, Grandma. Look at what’s happening to . Yu Holea... she’s ruthless.

She wants to destroy completely. First, my love, now my career. I don’t know what I did to deserve her hatred."

Cai Bao humd thoughtfully, leaning back in her chair.

"It’s interesting," she mused.

"Yu Holea has always struck as a rather composed young woman. Ambitious, yes, but not reckless. If she truly had such a deep grudge against you, why wait until now to strike?"

Yu i exhaled shakily.

"Because she was waiting for the right mont. She wanted to make sure that when she ruined , there would be no way for to recover."

She glanced up, her expression pleading.

"You don’t have to believe , Grandma, but please... just look into it. Ask around. I promise you’ll find out the truth."

Cai Bao drumd her fingers against the table as if weighing her options.

Then, after a long pause, she gave a small nod. "I will look into it," she said simply.

Yu i’s heart leaped, but she quickly suppressed her excitent, maintaining her sorrowful facade.

"Thank you," she murmured. "That’s all I ask."

To make sure Cai Bao believed her lies, she had already forged so of the evidence.

Yu Holea was done for!

Cai Bao stood, smoothing the wrinkles from her elegant coat.

"Rest assured, child, the truth will always co to light," she said, her gaze lingering on Yu i for a mont longer before she turned and walked away.

As soon as the door closed behind her, Yu i exhaled slowly, her fingers tightening around the edge of the table.

...................................

At Yu Holea’s villa.

When the doorbell rang, Yu Holea thought Mrs. Yu had arrived, so she opened the door.

Outside stood Mr. Yu.

He had a dark expression on his face.

The mont the door was opened, he raised his hand to slap Yu Holea.

But before the slap could land on Yu Holea, Yu Sile appeared and held Mr. Yu’s hand.

"What are you doing, Mr. Yu?"

"What am I doing? Ask your good sister what she is doing?"

Yu Sile frowned.

"What do you an?"

Mr. Yu stepped inside, slamming the door shut behind him. His eyes, filled with fury, bore into her, making the air in the room thick with hostility.

"You ungrateful wretch!" he spat. "How dare you?"

Yu Holea blinked, trying to compose herself. "What are you talking about?"

"Don’t play dumb with !" Mr. Yu’s voice thundered.

"Do you think I wouldn’t find out? Do you think I wouldn’t hear about the filth you’ve been spreading about Yu i?"

Yu Holea made an innocent expression and asked,

"About her? Co Mr. Yu, if your daughter hadn’t done filthy things in the first place, she wouldn’t be behind bars in the first place.

And why do you think I am the one who was spreading filth about her? Do I seem such kind of person to you?"
