Yu i’s face was a mask of anguish, tears streaming down her cheeks as she clung to Old Madam Yu’s trembling hand.
Her voice broke as she sobbed theatrically, ensuring her every word reached both Yu Holea and the livestream audience.
"Yu Holea," she choked out, "look at Grandmother! She’s like this because of you! All she’s ever wanted was to see you marry soone respectable, soone who can secure the family’s future. Is that so much to ask? Why are you so selfish? Why can’t you fulfill her last wish?"
She turned to the old woman on the floor, her voice dripping with exaggerated concern.
"Grandmother, tell her," Yu i urged.
"Tell Holea that all you want is for her to settle down and make the family proud."
Old Madam Yu, her face pale, gave a weak nod. Her lips moved faintly as if to affirm Yu i’s words.
The effect was imdiate—gasps and angry remarks filled the comnt section of the livestream.
"How heartless can Holea be? Her grandmother’s on the verge of collapse, and she’s still being stubborn!"
"I can’t believe this! Old Mrs. Yu is so frail, and Holea’s treating her like this?"
"Yu i is right—Holea’s being selfish. Just marry already and save your family’s honor!"
Yu Holea’s lips curled into a cold smile, though her eyes burned with restrained anger.
She opened her mouth to retort, but before she could speak, the villa’s front door burst open with a commanding bang.
The entire room turned toward the entrance in stunned silence.
Standing in the doorway was a tall, striking man with sharp black hair and piercing blue eyes.
Dressed in an impeccably tailored suit, his presence exuded raw power and authority.
His gaze swept the room before landing squarely on Yu Holea. Without a mont’s hesitation, he strode in, his every step purposeful and confident.
"Qiao Jun?" Yu i gasped, her eyes widening in shock and... sothing close to adoration. mories of their brief encounter the night before made her heart race.
But as much as she was smitten, she couldn’t hide her confusion at his sudden appearance.
Yu Holea’s expression didn’t waver,
"What are you doing here?"
Instead of answering, Qiao Jun walked straight to her, his hand sliding possessively around her waist.
The action sent a wave of gasps through the room and a storm of reactions in the livestream comnts.
"WHO IS THIS MALE GOD?!?"
"I’m sorry, but I need his na and address NOW."
"Yu Holea, how dare you hoard this man? Share him with the world!"
"Wait, wait, wait—isn’t that Qiao Jun, the Qiao family’s second son? He’s a literal billionaire!"
Qiao Jun ignored the reactions entirely, his voice calm yet resolute as he addressed the room.
"Yu Holea can’t marry anyone else. Ever." His piercing gaze turned to Yu i and Old Madam Yu, freezing them in place.
"If anyone dares to force her, I’ll make sure the entire Yu family goes bankrupt by the end of the day."
The room descended into stunned silence.
Even Old Madam Yu, despite her weakened state, seed montarily speechless.
Yu i’s face paled, her mind racing to salvage the situation.
"Mr. Qiao," Yu i started, her voice shaking slightly, "are you sure you want to involve yourself in this? Yu Holea doesn’t even care about you. She’s cold and rude—why are you wasting your ti on soone who doesn’t appreciate you?"
Qiao Jun’s lips quirked into an amused smile, as if Yu i’s attempts to sway him were utterly inconsequential.
Without glancing at her, he replied coolly,
"That’s none of your business."
Yu Holea, still calm despite the chaos, placed a hand on his chest and pushed him away gently but firmly.
Unbothered by her dismissal, Qiao Jun chuckled.
His expression softened as he looked at her, his tone almost tender.
"You’re tired. Let get you so water."
Before she could respond, he turned and made his way toward the kitchen.
His unhurried confidence was both infuriating and captivating, leaving everyone in the room staring after him.
The comnt section exploded.
"Life could have given one such hubby and I would have laughed eating chili powder."
"I want to be Yu Holea so bad right now."
"Qiao Jun, look into the cara! Acknowledge us, your fans!"
"Wait—he’s going to get her water? Marriage material."
Yu i’s fists clenched at her sides, her frustration boiling over. She shot Yu Holea a venomous glare.
"See, Holea? You don’t even care about him! Why is he wasting his ti on soone as cold-hearted as you?"
Yu Holea arched a brow, her calm deanor unchanged.
"And yet, he seems perfectly happy to do so. Should I thank you for your concern, Yu i?"
Yu i’s mouth opened and closed, searching for a retort, but nothing ca.
anwhile, the audience of the live stream continued to eat up every second of the drama, their allegiances shifting with every new revelation.
Monts later, Qiao Jun returned with a glass of water, offering it to Yu Holea with a slight smile.
"Here," he said, his voice low and smooth. "You should stay hydrated."
Yu Holea eyed him, then took the glass, her lips twitching in a faint smirk.
"You’re persistent," she remarked before sipping the water.
"I prefer the term ’determined," Qiao Jun replied, leaning slightly against the counter.
Yu i not wanting to see their lovey-dovey interaction shouted at them,
"Both of you can’t you see-"
However, Qiao Jun calmly covered Yu Holea’s ears and said to Yu i with a bone-chilling look in his eyes,
"If you don’t tone down your loud voice, I won’t mind kicking you out of the earth."
It took two minutes for Yu i to understand that Qiao Jun was talking about killing her. Her eyes widened in anger.
Qiao Jun continued,
"As for your grandmother, unlike so people who are busy achieving their goals and don’t genuinely care for their grandmother, I have called the ambulance for her."
Qiao Jun’s words woke up the netizens in the comnt section and they started to scold Yu i one by one,
"God! If Yu i truly cares for her grandmother shouldn’t she call for an ambulance first?"
"Exactly! Why is she even bothered to know the last wish when she can save the person?"
"Maybe...she was too shocked and hence..."
"Hey upstairs please don’t talk nonsense. She was so shocked that she couldn’t call the ambulance but can accuse Yu Holea and practically force her to marry off soone else?"
Yu i panicked and fumbled to explain,
"N-Nonsense! I didn’t call the ambulance because I felt my grandmother wouldn’t be able to make it. You know Yu Holea made her so angry..."
"Miss Yu i." Qiao Jun interrupted, "Since she is your grandmother why is she so concerned about Holea’s wedding?"
Not wanting to give Qiao Jun a chance to clear everything, Yu i stopped,
"She has sponsored Yu Holea’s life till now, so the least she can do is decide on Yu Holea’s marriage."
"No." Qiao Jun shook his head,
"From my perspective it is more like, she sponsored Yu Holea, so that she could marry her off for business profits."
Yu i’s face turned a ghastly shade of white as Qiao Jun’s sharp words sliced through the atmosphere.
The comnt section erupted into a frenzy:
"Business profits?! Is this what the Yu family is about?"
"Holea was treated like an investnt all along? Disgusting."
"Qiao Jun is a walking lie detector. I stan this man!"
Yu i stamred,
"Th-That’s not true! How dare you accuse us of such a thing? Grandmother’s intentions are pure! She only wants what’s best for Holea and the family!"
Qiao Jun fixed her with an icy glare, his piercing blue eyes practically drilling into her soul.
"Spare your theatrics, Yu i. I’ve seen families like yours before—dressed in silk but rotten to the core.
And your hypocrisy is evident for everyone watching this." He gestured vaguely toward the phone still live-streaming the scene.
Old Madam Yu, still lying weakly on the floor, attempted to speak but was too frail to argue.
Yu Holea finally stepped forward,
"Qiao Jun, this is my ss to clean up. I don’t need you fighting my battles."
Qiao Jun smirked, unperturbed by her resistance.
"Oh, but I’m not fighting your battles, Holea. I’m simply ensuring that no one here—" he glanced aningfully at Yu i, "—exploits you for their gain."
Yu i, feeling cornered, snapped,
"Exploit her? You talk about exploitation, but isn’t that exactly what you’re doing, Mr. Qiao? Why else would you be here, making such a dramatic entrance? You’re just using her to boost your image!"
Qiao Jun laughed, the sound low and derisive.
"Boost my image? Miss Yu i, if I wanted to boost my image, I wouldn’t waste my ti dealing with leeches like you. My presence here is for one reason and one reason only: Yu Holea."
His voice softened slightly as he turned back to Holea.
"She deserves better than this circus, and I’ll make sure she gets it."
The comnt section exploded once again:
"This man just called Yu i a leech. I’m screaming!"
