Yu Holea raised an amused eyebrow, her hands crossing over her chest as she took in the elaborate display in front of her.
The teddy bear, roses, chocolates, and the groveling doll-like figure were undoubtedly Qiao Jun’s handiwork.
She stepped out of her room, leaning against the doorfra, her tone dripping with mock exasperation.
"Qiao Jun, are you seriously doing this? A male doll? Really?"
From behind the corner, Qiao Jun stepped into view, his usual smirk plastered across his face.
He was dressed casually but impeccably, his hands in his pockets. "What can I say? I’m a man of creativity and grand gestures," he said with a playful shrug.
Yu Holea rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide the faint smile tugging at her lips.
"And what exactly are you apologizing for this ti?"
"For anything and everything I might have done to upset my wifey," Qiao Jun replied smoothly, stepping closer.
"And also to remind you how amazing I am. You need soone like in your life."
Yu Holea snorted. "Amazing? You an annoying. What do you want, Qiao Jun? I have a wrap party to attend."
Qiao Jun feigned a wounded expression, clutching at his chest dramatically.
"You wound , Holea. Can’t a man express his undying devotion without an ulterior motive?"
"You? No. You always have an ulterior motive." She arched an eyebrow, giving him a once-over. "Spit it out."
"Well," Qiao Jun said, leaning against the doorfra next to her,
"I may have heard about the wrap party. And I may have decided that I don’t trust Vivian or Yu i enough to leave you alone with them for the evening."
"So?" Yu Holea raised an eyebrow. She knew Qiao Jun wasn’t asking her to bring him along with her.
The reason was pretty simple, Qiao Jun was still dealing with Vivian and his plan had reached its final stage. Now if he appeared with her, the entire plan would spoil.
Qiao Jun chuckled,
"So, I wanted to leave so mark on you to let them know that they shouldn’t ss with you."
Yu Holea rolled her eyes.
Marks on her body so that Vivian won’t cause trouble for her? Why doesn’t he admit that he wants to leave Mark to let others know that she was in a relationship?
Yu Holea folded her arms and leaned slightly against the doorfra, her eyes narrowing at Qiao Jun.
"So what exactly are you planning to do, Mr. Overly Possessive? Leave a stamp on my forehead that says ’property of Qiao Jun’?"
She knew he couldn’t leave any mark on her body since she had claid that she was single and he would never dare to ss with her career.
Qiao Jun smirked at her teasing remark, stepping closer until he was just an arm’s length away. His voice dropped to a low, playful tone.
"Not a stamp, but sothing more... subtle. Maybe a necklace, a bracelet—sothing tasteful and unmistakable."
"Or, you know," Yu Holea deadpanned, "I could just tell them to back off like I always do."
Qiao Jun’s grin widened.
"Sure, but where’s the fun in that? Let spoil you a little."
Before Yu Holea could retort, Qiao Jun reached into his pocket and pulled out a sleek, velvet box.
He flipped it open to reveal a delicate necklace—a minimalist design with a small charm in the shape of a phoenix.
The craftsmanship was impeccable, and the subtle shimr of the gold made it clear it was expensive.
Yu Holea blinked, montarily taken aback. She hadn’t expected this level of thoughtfulness.
"See?" Qiao Jun said, his tone smug but his gaze sincere. "Sothing classy, just like you."
Yu Holea’s lips twitched, caught between irritation and amusent.
"And you think this will stop Vivian from running her mouth?"
"It won’t," Qiao Jun admitted, chuckling.
"But it’ll remind her who has your back. Plus, I couldn’t resist the excuse to get you sothing nice."
For a mont, Yu Holea studied the necklace, then glanced back at Qiao Jun.
"You’re ridiculous," she muttered, but her voice softened as she took the box from him.
"I’ll wear it," she added, lifting the necklace out of the box. "But not for your ego, Mr. Qiao. Just because it looks good on ."
Qiao Jun stepped behind her, taking the necklace from her hand.
"Of course," he said smoothly. "It’s all about you, wifey."
He carefully fastened the clasp around her neck, his fingers brushing against her skin.
Yu Holea felt a slight shiver but masked it with her usual composed expression.
"Perfect," Qiao Jun said, stepping back to admire his handiwork.
"Now you’re ready to conquer that wrap party and look stunning while doing it."
Yu Holea turned to face him, her smirk returning. "As if I needed your necklace for that."
Yet she couldn’t stop the sweet feeling bubbling in her heart.
When Yu Holea arrived at the venue, all eyes naturally turned to her.
Director Ou, seated at a large round table at the center of the room, waved her over with a warm smile.
"Holea! Over here, co sit with us," he called.
As she approached, a mix of actors, crew mbers, and assistants eagerly made space for her at the table.
It was clear she was the star of the evening, not just for her acting but for the impression she had left on everyone during the production.
Once seated, the conversation quickly shifted to lighthearted reminiscing. Director Ou kicked things off with a laugh.
"Do you rember that day the prop shelf collapsed during the storm scene? And Holea sohow knew it would happen?"
One of the lighting technicians nodded enthusiastically.
"She warned us to double-check the bolts. If we hadn’t, half the equipnt would’ve been ruined—and a couple of us might’ve been hurt."
Another crewmber chid in.
"And let’s not forget the ti she predicted that the makeup assistant would trip over those loose cables during the night shoot. Holea, I swear, you’ve got so kind of sixth sense."
Yu Holea chuckled modestly, brushing off the praise.
"I just pay attention, that’s all. And I’d rather everyone be safe than sorry."
The table erupted in laughter and agreent, with several people sharing their own stories of how Yu Holea had seemingly foreseen accidents big and small.
The camaraderie was palpable, and it was clear how much everyone respected and admired her.
"Speaking of which," one of the younger actresses said, leaning forward eagerly,
"Holea, what’s your next project? I’d love to join whatever set you’re on."
The sentint was echoed by several others, from the costu designer to the caraman.
"Seriously," one of the assistant directors added.
"You’ve been like a guardian angel for this production. If you’re heading to another film, we’ll follow you there."
Yu Holea’s lips curved into a soft smile, touched by their words.
"You’re all too kind. I don’t have any projects confird yet, but I’ll let you know as soon as I do. It would be wonderful to work with all of you again."
While most of the room was filled with laughter and warmth, one person wasn’t pleased.
Vivian, seated a few tables away with her assistant, was seething.
Her lips pressed into a thin line as she watched the attention and affection Yu Holea received.
"Can you believe this?" Vivian muttered to her assistant.
"She’s practically being worshipped, and for what? A few lucky guesses and so fake humility?"
Her assistant, sensing her mood, nodded dutifully.
"You’re the real star here, Miss Vivian. After all, you are the female lead of the movie! But they outcasted you! It’s truly annoying!"
Vivian’s gaze flickered to Yu Holea again, her eyes narrowing as they landed on the bracelet adorning her wrist.
It was a delicate piece, its charm unmistakably intricate.
Suddenly, Vivian’s lips curled into a smug smirk.
"Fake humility," she murmured to herself, "and fake jewelry."
Rising from her seat, Vivian strutted over to Yu Holea’s table, her voice loud enough to interrupt the ongoing conversation.
"Holea," she said sweetly, though her tone dripped with condescension.
"That’s a lovely bracelet you’re wearing. Where did you get it?"
Yu Holea turned her gaze to Vivian, her expression calm and unreadable.
"It was a gift," she replied simply.
Vivian’s smirk deepened as she crossed her arms.
"A gift, huh? Well, it looks quite similar to the Charm Phoenix bracelet. You know, the one worth a billion. But, of course, that’s impossible. With your net worth, there’s no way you could afford sothing so extravagant. So," she added with a mock laugh, "it must be a first copy. How thoughtful of soone to gift you a fake."
A tense silence fell over the table, broken only by the faint clinking of glasses. Vivian’s assistant giggled behind her, clearly enjoying the spectacle.
Yu Holea didn’t flinch, her expression remaining serene. Before she could respond, one of the senior actors at the table spoke up.
"Vivian, that’s enough. Why are you so concerned about what Holea is wearing?"
