Rong Xue leaned back slightly, his smile faltering.
"You don’t have to lie, Jun. Just... steer her away from you. Let her see soone else—let her see ."
His tone beca pleading again like he was trying to convince Qiao Jun that this was the best way to handle it.
But Qiao Jun shook his head slowly.
"She deserves the truth. If she’s going to be with you... it has to be because she chooses you, not because she thinks I don’t care about her anymore."
Rong Xue’s expression darkened, but he quickly hid it behind a calm facade.
"Fine. We’ll do it your way, Jun. Just... please help . You know I’ve been waiting for this chance for years. I don’t want to lose her again."
There was a deep longing in Rong Xue’s voice that tugged at Qiao Jun’s heart.
This was his best friend, the one who had always been there for him, who had given so much.
How could he deny him sothing he had wanted for so long?
But in the sa breath, Qiao Jun couldn’t help feeling the gnawing doubt in his gut.
What was he really giving up? Was this really what was best for Yu Holea?
Would she be happy with Rong Xue? Could he really let her go so easily?
"I’ll help you," Qiao Jun finally said, though his voice was barely above a whisper.
"But I won’t lie to her."
Rong Xue nodded, though sothing unspoken lingered between them.
The conversation felt unfinished like there was more to be said, more to be understood.
"Thanks, Jun." Rong Xue’s smile returned, but it felt forced now, less genuine than before.
"I really appreciate it."
He opened the door and stepped out of the car, but before closing it, he turned back to Qiao Jun.
"We’ll figure this out. Just... trust ."
Qiao Jun forced a nod, even though he wasn’t sure if he could.
The mont Rong Xue shut the door and disappeared into his house, the overwhelming silence of the car enveloped Qiao Jun.
He gripped the steering wheel tightly, staring blankly ahead, his mind a ss of conflicting emotions.
Knock. Knock.
Qiao Jun’s car window was knocked.
Thinking that the person outside was Rong Xue, Qiao Jun suppressed his rising emotions and rolled down the window.
However, when he saw the person who was outside, he was shocked.
"You...what are you doing here?"

At a two-story house.
Zhang ilin was resting her head on the massager chair. She had a facial mask on, a cucumber piece on each eye, and her legs were dipped in the water foot massager.
She was listening to calm music when suddenly her phone rang, breaking the peaceful atmosphere.
With an irritated expression, Zhang ilin put one piece of cucumber away and looked at the na of the caller.
It was an unknown number, but wasn’t a spam call.
Without hesitation, Zhang ilin picked up the call.
Her phone number was only known to her company and a few family mbers, hence Zhang ilin was sure that it wasn’t so spam call.
The call might be from her parents who would be calling or so endorser.
"Hello?" Zhang ilin
Zhang ilin raised an eyebrow as the voice on the other end of the line introduced herself.

"Hello, Ms. Zhang. This is Chen Ru, Yu Holea’s assistant. I’m calling on behalf of Ms. Yu. She has sothing important she wishes to discuss with you in person."
Zhang ilin’s hand froze over the foot massager.
"Why didn’t Yu Holea call herself?" Zhang ilin asked, her voice tinged with doubt.
"If she has sothing to say, shouldn’t she just speak to directly?"
There was a brief pause on the other end before Chen Ru responded, her tone asured and professional.
"I understand your concern, Ms. Zhang. However, this matter is delicate, and Ms. Yu felt it would be better to approach you through soone you might not expect.
She wants to discuss sothing personal and was worried it might co off too strong if she reached out directly."
"That still doesn’t explain why she wouldn’t just send a ssage herself," Zhang ilin pressed, crossing her arms.
"Is this about business? Or sothing else?"
Chen Ru hesitated for a mont, then said softly,
"It’s... not about business. It’s about so rumors regarding the incident that had happened just a week before."
"What rumors?"
"Soone is circulating in the circle that Yu Holea has slept with Director Gong. Yu Holea knows that you had recorded the video and hence..." Chen Ru didn’t finish her words but Zhang ilin understood her words.
A smile appeared on Zhang ilin’s face before she said in a nonchalant tone,
"Okay, then I will send the video directly to Yu Holea. There is no need to et up, right?"
Chen Ru’s slightly panicked voice sounded,
"No! No! Don’t send it to Yu Holea! I an...her phone is hacked and even if you send her the video, it will not reach her. This is the reason why she asked to contact you, instead of contacting you on her own."
"Is that so?" Zhang ilin asked in an uncertain tone, but a smile played on her face.
"Yes!" Chen Ru nodded.
"Yu Holea’s phone is hacked, huh?" Zhang ilin mused, her voice lilting with doubt. "And I’m supposed to just believe that? You realize this sounds like a setup, right?"
Chen Ru hesitated, the tension clear in her voice as she replied,
"I understand your hesitation, Ms. Zhang, but I can assure you that this is not a trap. Ms. Yu simply wants to clarify things before this gets out of hand.
She believes the video you have could be crucial in stopping these rumors."
Zhang ilin let out a soft chuckle, amused by how desperate Chen Ru seed.
"If Yu Holea wants my help, she should have co to directly. Not sent you." Her tone sharpened.
After hanging up, Zhang ilin patted her chest and muttered,
"Thank god Yu Holea had warned about such calls in advance!"
........................
At the sa ti, in a luxurious banquet hall.
"Miss Yu, you are truly talented. It took you only 4 months to make a na for yourself."
"Yeah! Miss Yu, who would have thought that not only do you have an excellent modeling skill but also good acting skills."
Yu i smiled shyly at the comnts, her innocent aura convinced all the people, that she was untainted by the world’s malice.
"Is that so? Then I would like to thank everyone present here. You all have been taking care of which resulted in giving out my best performance."
The people around Yu i continued to praise her.
After 20 minutes or so, Yu i excused herself and walked toward the restroom.
The sweet smile on her face which was playing just a few seconds ago, vanished instantly. Replaced by a disdainful look.
"Idiots."
She muttered.
"If it wasn’t for Director Hao’s daughter’s birthday, do you think I would converse with trash people like you?"
As she sat down on the couch, Yu i called her assistant.
Once the call was connected she asked calmly,
"Did that small-ti influencer agree to et? Hm? No? Did you tell her that you are Yu Holea’s assistant?
"Yes, Miss Yu," Chen Ru’s voice ca through the phone, laced with tension.
"I told her I was Yu Holea’s assistant, but she was hesitant. She didn’t seem to trust the story about the phone being hacked."
Yu i clicked her tongue in annoyance, her eyes narrowing.
"Of course, she didn’t. That idiot Zhang ilin is more cautious than she looks."
She leaned back on the couch, her expression cold.
"Tell her again. Make her think it’s urgent. I don’t care how you do it, just get her to agree to et. We need that video before she starts making things complicated."
Chen Ru’s voice wavered on the other end.
"I’ll try my best, Miss Yu. But what if she doesn’t comply?"
"Then find another way. Use any leverage we have on her. You have to convince her to et ," Yu i snapped, her patience clearly wearing thin.
"I didn’t get to where I am by letting nobodies like her ruin my plans."
There was a brief pause on the other end before Chen Ru replied,
"Understood. I’ll handle it."
Yu i ended the call without another word, tossing her phone onto the couch beside her.
Her eyes darkened as she considered the situation.
Zhang ilin could beco a problem if she doesn’t fall in line.
But Yu i wasn’t worried.
If Zhang ilin was about to beco a problem...then such a problem should be killed.
As long as Zhang ilin is killed, the evidence in Zhang rlin’s hand will never be revealed.
She (Yu i) could then start to start rumors about Yu Holea and Yu Holea won’t be able to do anything.
Feeling tired Yu i was about to leave when she realized her hands and legs had turned stiff.
