However contrary to Yu Holea’s happy expression, the other three people had an expression of shock on their faces.
The reason was pretty simple.
It was Yu Holea’s mask.
"Impossible!" Lira couldn’t help but be stunned.
Even Sir Aldric was stunned. He was looking at Yu Holea with disbelief.
The goddess on the other hand was calm but the fluctuating aura around her was enough to prove how stunned she was.
Seeing their reaction Yu Holea’s happiness vanished on the spot.
Did...she draw a bad mask?
How dreadful it could be...that made all three of them freeze?
"I...what happened?" Yu Holea asked softly.
However, her question wasn’t answered since each of the three people was too busy processing the shock.
The goddess was the first to recover, though the calm deanor she usually maintained seed strained.
She stepped closer to Yu Holea, her eyes studying the mask with an intensity that made Yu Holea feel exposed.
"Candidate Yu," the goddess began, her voice asured.
"You have drawn a Kirin mask, you can also call it a Qilin mask."
(Qilin has similarities with the dragon and deer. In Japanese it is called as Kirin)
"Qilin?" Yu Holea was stunned.
In China, there are four most powerful guardian beasts naly the Azure dragon, White tiger, Vermilion bird, and Black tortoise.
While Qilin, Dragon, Phoenix, and Turtle are four auspicious beasts in Chinese mythology.
The Qilin is often depicted as a symbol of good luck, protection, and prosperity.
Yu Holea could never associate herself with sothing such as good luck...
She subconsciously touched her mask.
The goddess said with a hint of surprise in her voice,
"Qilin is gentle and wise. To say that your soul resonates with Qilin, ans you possess qualities of wisdom, gentleness, and a potential for greatness," the goddess continued, her eyes never leaving Yu Holea’s.
"This is a rare and powerful symbol. The Qilin is a harbinger of good fortune and a protector of the innocent. It appears only to those who are destined to bring significant change."
Yu Holea nodded.
Lira asked hurriedly,
"Goddess is true that even if My lady doesn’t..."
However, before she could finish her words, the goddess lightly glanced at Lira, which was enough to shut her mouth.
Yu Holea frowned in confusion and asked,
"What were you saying?"
"Nothing. I was just curious. Didn’t the goddess say that a candidate could only draw up an animal or a bird? So why did you draw an auspicious beast?"
Yu Holea turned towards the goddess to know the answer.
The goddess said in a gentle tone,
"It is not like candidates can’t draw a beast. After all, there are a type of animals too."
"Mutated?" Yu Holea asked.
The goddess chuckled,
"Not mutated. In fact, the animals can be said to be mutated versions of beasts."
"Mutated version of beasts?" Yu Holea repeated, trying to wrap her head around the concept.
The goddess nodded.
"Indeed. Animals you see every day are just distant, lesser descendants of these mighty beasts.
In rare instances, individuals of exceptional nature and potential can draw the essence of these ancient, powerful creatures."
"Oh..." Yu Holea nodded with a blank expression.
She looked very cute!
The goddess said gently.
"Candidate Qilin you can begin your journey now."
Feeling a bit curious about the upcoming future, Yu Holea took a deep breath and nodded.
"Also I have 2 good news for you. Maybe your luck has indeed started to change." The goddess continued.
"Hm?" Yu Holea was curious.
"The punishnt span of the candidates had been increased. They would have to live 4 lives to pay for their mistakes.
As for your fiance, he too will be cured in 3 years." The goddess announced.
Yu Holea froze. The shock was so sudden, that for a mont she didn’t know how to react.
When she sobered, Yu Holea’s first reaction was delight.
"Really? He will wake up in 3 years?"
God knows how much she was wishing for Qiao Jun to wake up.
But even with her divination skills, she wasn’t able to predict Qiao Jun’s future.

Before Yu Holea’ss reminder, the goddess didn’t take the matter seriously.
Indeed she wanted Yu Holea to punish all the candidates personally. But when she saw the candidate’s miserable expressions, the goddess couldn’t help but intervene and ask Yu Holea to stop.
Yu Holea’s demand forced her to punish them severely.
But when she conversed with Yu Holea that day, she realized sothing.
The candidates whom she knows now, and the candidates whom she had first t were completely different.

The reason why she was so lenient towards all the candidates till now was because she felt guilty for that incident.

Yu Holea’s words reminded her.

So she decided to punish those candidates severely for the ti being. Maybe they will truly learn their lesson and not cause trouble for the ti being.

Once she finds the solution for the candidates, she will not need to be guilty anymore.
"Also Candidate Qilin since you are the only candidate who is present, I would like to request you to overlook the matters of the goddess city for the ti being." The goddess announced before Yu Holea could express her opinion on the punishnt.
"What matters?" Yu Holea frowned.
"Candidate Qilin do you want to inherit the powers of the goddess? If yes, then you need to learn the work of the goddess before I transfer my powers to you." The goddess stated, her eyes locking onto Yu Holea’s with a seriousness that left no room for misunderstanding.
Yu Holea’s mood was quite complicated.
Indeed she wanted to inherit the power of the goddess. Not because she admired the position but because it was sothing Sister Phoenix wanted so much.
Now that she had the chance, Yu Holea didn’t want the powers.

"You will also have access to ancient knowledge that few have ever seen, and I can assure you that your ti will be well-compensated."
Yu Holea’s eyes widened at the ntion of ancient knowledge.
For the past half year, she didn’t make any progress in her cultivation, due to no advance manuals.
But now she doesn’t need to worry about that problem! What could be better than ancient scripture?
"Not only that. You will be given a chance to increase a person’s luck or life span after each year of work." The goddess continued.
