A guy clad in a traffic police uniform stepped out from the side of the road ahead, waving a baton that flashed with lights, directing Wu Liang to pull over.
Fortunately, Wu Liang possessed the Law of Reality, and upon hearing the officer speaking to him, he slightly modified his language ability to achieve a native speaker level of English proficiency.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have understood what the traffic cop was saying.
"Officer, is there a problem?" Wu Liang asked fluently in an accent more local than the locals, which montarily stunned the officer questioning him.
But imdiately, the officer, in a sowhat astonished tone, asked, "Friend, where did you find this old antique of a taxi? You can’t just have it running on the road like that!"
Wu Liang imdiately realized what the problem was.
Damn! He forgot about the appearance of the taxi!
This type of taxi was common in his ho country, but not in the West!
Plus, the car was in such a dilapidated state, it was no wonder soone found it suspicious when it drove around.
"Sorry, sorry, I’m planning to take it for repairs." Wu Liang shrugged helplessly.
Yet the traffic officer, frowning, sensed sothing was off and demanded, "Let see your driver’s license and residence permit."

Wu Liang silently matched gazes with the officer.
Where the hell was he supposed to get a driver’s license and residence permit?
He’d been in his ho country just a second ago! Essentially, this was already considered illegal entry.

Suddenly, the streetlight next to the taxi began flickering incessantly.
Even in broad daylight, the frequency of the flashing was so high it was easy to notice sothing was wrong.
The traffic officer instinctively looked up, just in ti to see the streetlight morphing at a visibly unnatural speed into twisted trees, and the flickering light bulbs transford into fruits as white as snow.
This bizarre transformation frightened him into hurriedly pulling out his communicator for help: "Anomaly detected in Zone 7! Request assistance! Request assistance!"
With that, he took off running back the way he ca.
After sprinting so hundred ters, he panted heavily and turned to look back.
To his astonishnt, the streetlight that had turned eerie was back to normal, and the suspicious, battered taxi had vanished without a trace.
Everything he had just witnessed seed like an illusion.
This left him bewildered, rubbing his eyes in confusion, hesitantly moving back toward where he had stopped Wu Liang’s vehicle, his hand unconsciously reaching for the gun at his waist.
"Damn! What the hell is going on..."
Just as he said this, the officer noticed another even more chilling situation.
"Wait a minute, where did everyone go?"
He suddenly realized not only had the dilapidated taxi disappeared, but the pedestrians walking their dogs along the road were also missing.
At this mont, it was as if he’d been abandoned by the whole world, the city around him eerily silent as though he were the only person left.
The officer nervously swallowed.
Though unclear on what exactly had happened, after the Supernatural Calamity descended, encountering sothing that couldn’t be scientifically explained, the default assumption beca—"a ghost encounter" was always correct.
"Damn it! Why ?"
He trembled as he drew his handgun in a panic, aiming it around, fearing that any second a ghost might leap out to tear him apart.
Yet, unsurprisingly, the phenonon was undoubtedly the result of the Supernatural Lockdown caused by a certain Fierce Ghost.
Now it was crouched on a utility pole, camouflaged like a chaleon into its surroundings, undetectable.
The elongated, lizard-like tongue flicked its mouth, almost touching the hat on the officer’s head.
The officer, however, darted his eyes around like a frightened clown.
The Chaleon Fierce Ghost hadn’t fed in a long while.
Previously, it had wreaked havoc and killed in another area, nearly obliterated by the strongest Awakened there.
If not for its top-notch escape abilities, it would’ve been exorcised by now.
It had been hiding in the complex sewers ever since, avoiding being caught by that Awakened again.
Today, it finally couldn’t bear it any longer; the uncontrollable urge to feed drove it to attack the traffic officer.
"Hisssss..."
The Chaleon Fierce Ghost hissed with its flicking tongue, feeling a bit restless.
Because in its initial plan, it intended to devour both the officer and the driver in the dilapidated taxi earlier.
However, the mont the Supernatural Lockdown descended, for so unknown reason, it couldn’t find the driver’s trace anymore.
The prey just vanished into thin air, causing the Chaleon Fierce Ghost to feel a bit anxious and furious.
Right now, only the officer’s screams and spilling blood could alleviate this anger!
"What are you waiting for? Move it! Look at you, starving like a scarecrow. And you call yourself a Fierce Ghost, what a disgrace!"
Just as the Chaleon Fierce Ghost was about to pounce and first bite off the officer’s limbs, a mocking voice sounded in its ear.
