As that dazzling ball of light was about to fall on the Earth, Eleanor went in front of it and took it inside her.

The radiation from the spell caused her blood vessels to rupture, all of her bones were broken, and she was bleeding from every part of her body.

As that happened, I ran towards her, casting every single healing magic that I knew of.

My mana was exhausted, and my nose started to bleed from overuse of mana, but I still held on, and finally, I was able to save her life.

But in that process, she lost her everything.

Her mana veins were destroyed, and the ball of nuclear magic caused her core to be dried up.

It turned pitch black, not a single drop of mana left inside it.

After that, she tried many tis to gather mana inside her but failed each ti.

I also did everything in my power to help , but it brought us no results.

As we were facing this problem, our planet also faced another problem which was getting attacked by another planet and a different race.

We were from a planet that didn't even have a single saint realm person while they had an army of those.

Their strength was unfathomable, and none of us were able to put up a fight against them; if not for the spirit race to help us at that mont, the planet would have been enslaved by the demons and beasts.

So believed that if we hadn't lost two of our strongest people in that battle, then maybe we could have a chance.

They were mostly talking about the demon king, his ability to turn those he killed into undead would have helped for sure.

But in the end, he was called the demon for a reason.

So I quickly discarded that thought and possibility, he was dead anyway.

After the situation cald down a little, I went to et Eleanor.

A lot of things happened so suddenly that I wasn't able to do what I was planning at all.

It did not matter to if she had lost her powers, she was still the sa companion for , who I admired so much.

As I was about to confess my feelings for her, she revealed shocking information to .

She was carrying a child inside her.

I was shaken completely after that; I didn't even have the strength to ask her whose child it was.

I simply tried to stay away from her and help Mother with the situation on the frontier.

Now that the hero and the demon king both were gone, people's expectations fell upon .

I, a genius from the Elven race, beca the string of hope that people can rely on.

Their expectations for were high, and I even tried to be soone who could fulfil them, but I was never able to do it.

People ca and surpassed ; many of them ascended to the saint realm, but I stayed in the sa rank 8.

I tried again and again, ventured to the new land that appeared after the path of ascension was opened, which was called the graveyard of the fallen.

But no results.

Neither I was able to help Eleanor, nor could I ascend and help my people.

I beca a failure who couldn't get past the mark of being an archmage.

It was an honour before, but now I was getting buried under the expectations of people who I could never fulfil.

During that mont, I once again went back to Eleanor.

I thought she might be in a similar state as , but no... she was happy.

Even after she lost everything, she was still happy.

I couldn't understand what had happened to her.

But seeing her like that made forget about the things I was going through.

There was my happiness in her happiness.

And soon, she gave birth to a baby boy.

I was the one who held him in my arms even before Eleanor.

Seeing that child, an emotion of motherly love developed inside .

If fate had been with , then this child could have been the child of and Eleanor.

It was then I understood why Eleanor was happy even after losing all of her strength.

Motherly love is simply sothing else.

I then decided to treat this child as my own too.

I gave him everything I could. I helped him to train, provided him with resources that he needed and I even gave him my... b-breast milk.

Every ti he looked at , I felt relieved. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Watching him grow and get stronger made feel like I was growing with him.

However, there was sothing that got stuck with forever: every ti he called Eleanor's mother and my aunt Ayesha, my heart used to clench.

I was jealous of Eleanor.

I also loved him as my son... this jealousy latched onto for years.

When he turned 10 years old, ready to take part in the awakening ceremony, where he amazed after awakening a Godly core, I asked him to call mother as well.

He took a mont to think.

At that ti, I thought maybe I had been hasty, what if he hated for that and even stopped calling aunt? I would have been devastated, but no...

When he called Mother, my heart fluttered.

It felt as if there were butterflies inside my stomach.

My feelings for him got even stronger, reaching a very unhealthy level.

At that ti, I pledged to myself that I would never let anyone harm my son.

He is mine and I will protect him forever till I die.

At that mont, I had no idea where this emotion would take .
