[PLEASE LOG OFF TO ALLOW FOR THE TI DILATION TO BE RAMPED UP TO A 20:1 RATIO IN PREPARATION FOR THE WAR]

This announcent was sent to everyone in VR during the emperor’s address, whether they were watching it or doing sothing else. A five-minute tir appeared in front of all users, counting down to the forced logout.

The empire could have ramped up the ti dilation without logging everyone off, but by doing so, it effectively allowed the entire population to be offline for a brief mont to digest the emperor’s address. As a result, the majority of citizens flocked to Pangea, the empire’s central social platform, to either see the reactions of people they looked up to or to express their own feelings. The already inflad emotions of imperial citizens were further stoked by posts from the Ministry of War and other viral discussions.

Speculation quickly began about how the empire would implent the emperor’s promise of allowing everyone to participate in the war through Avatars. Within minutes, soone posted a link from the Akashic Record, revealing details about the imperial governnt’s technology for controlling humanoid Avatars through VR. This technology, which had been classified until now, was suddenly declassified following the emperor’s address.

The post included footage of breaching forces fighting Conclave troops, showcasing the effectiveness of the empire’s technology. The revelation that the empire had perfected such "broken" technology left many in awe, while others began to speculate about its implications.

..................

@BossJohnny: So, you’re telling the empire has perfected the technology from Avatar and has already used it in real life? No wonder the emperor seed so intent on fighting to the end. What’s there to worry about when, no matter how many casualties your soldiers face, you can just create more avatars for them to control and keep fighting? The only loss is in materials.

@billiam: Is it weird for to ask this? How the heck are they going to make the Avatars we design fast enough for billions of applicants when the VR cos back online?

@Zabulus: That should be the least of our worries. Everyone here has experienced the production capabilities of Hephaestus Heavy Industries. They’re the backbone of every company requiring production. They can produce virtually anything no matter how you design it, and the quality is always top-notch. I’m sure you’ve seen it yourself.

@Katherine: If they can control an avatar like this, what’s stopping them from creating a human-looking avatar and sending them out in public to do their bidding? Combine this with their body recreation technology, and you’ve got a Terminator-style body walking among us.

@Jade: Why would the empire even bother with that when they already have better surveillance thods? VR, for example. They can control literally everything in it. If you’re trying to paint the empire as so dystopian overlord, at least think of a better argunt. Plus, we’re at war, and you’re bringing this up now? FUCK YOU.

@Sol_Invictus: I an, if they were doing that, we wouldn’t know anyway. But why would they? The empire already controls everything, and it’s in their best interest to make our lives easier, which they’re actually doing. We have more freedom than we could ever want, which is crazy considering we’re under imperial rule.

@jordan payet: Let’s get back to the main topic. It seems like many of you are forgetting sothing that should be making you excited right now.

@Jpo192: What is it? Just tell us in the sa post. Don’t make us ask; people are lazy.

@jordan payet: I’m talking about how the empire managed to transfer all those super-cool chas to the planets in such a short ti over such long distances. Officially, the empire doesn’t have wormhole technology. But not only did they send chas to hold planets hostage, which is amazing in itself, they also used it as a distraction to mount a rescue operation for people in space stations that usually take weeks to reach. And they did all of this within three hours of being attacked. Isn’t this basically them admitting they’ve had wormhole technology for a long ti?

@Greatsaint: Holy shit, that’s true. I’ve been wondering how they’re going to transport our robotic avatars to the battle zones. Looks like we already have our answer.

@psy0nic: Do you think they’ll let us use IPs from movies when designing our avatars? Like, can I make mine look like Darth Vader?

@Guilher: I hope so. Based on what the emperor said about customizing weapons and designs, it should be possible.

@Aden: Wait a minute, let go start my design.

@SLO: I’m looking to hire an artist to help bring my design to paper. Please reach out to , and don’t worry, money is not a problem.

@Norito: LOL, the empire won’t care about IP ownership. And who would dare sue the empire? They didn’t even implent martial law during an active war because they already have maximum power all the ti. LMAO.

@Listener: You people are really good at ignoring all the important things revealed in the discussion to focus on the things that interest you? The empire has already released a report on the situation that goes into more detail about what happened, and I see none of you talking about the seventy million prisoners responsible for the casualties of our people that the empire brought back, and the emperor never ntioned them. Do none of you wonder what the emperor will do to them? Or if he is going to leave the decision to the family mbers?

@porfav: Aren’t you also doing the sa? You just focused on the important things that piqued your interest.

[THE RAMP-UP IS COMPLETED, AND ALL VR DEVICES HAVE BEEN UPDATED TO HANDLE IT. THE APPLICATION PORTAL FOR JOINING IN DEFENSE OF THE EMPIRE HAS BEEN OPENED.]

As the announcent appeared, Pangea, which had been experiencing its highest-ever concurrent user count, emptied almost instantly. People logged into VR en masse to see how the empire would implent the avatar program and what level of freedom they would have in designing their avatars.

Within ten seconds, a billion people had already registered for the program, with millions more joining every second. So were driven by curiosity, others by a genuine desire to fight for the empire, and many by a mix of both.

Even those who were typically afraid of conflict found themselves applying. With the consequences of fighting, death, and pain as factors being removed from the equation, bravery beca universal.
