The objective of dealing with those demonic beasts was rely to prevent them from continuing to wreak havoc on the Star War Battlefield.
In the blink of an eye, that elixir had already landed in Wang Zhan's hand.
Wang Zhan smiled and said, "Since we've already found a solution, let's continue hunting those high-level demonic beasts. When we have collected enough demon cores from these beasts, we can continue refining elixirs. We can also enter Kui City, recruit so friends, and ask them to assist
with so more important matters."
"Didn't you say you disdained associating with those people? Why are you now preparing to have them help?" Han Junxiong quickly asked.
Wang Zhan explained, "Actually, I have two other companions. I believe I ntioned them to you before. However, when we entered this place, we were sohow separated. Their strength isn't even up to yours. So, here on the Star War Battlefield, if they encounter enemies or powerful demonic beasts, they probably won't be able to protect themselves. I absolutely cannot watch them fall into peril. My priority is to rendezvous with them, then help them raise their cultivation levels so they can gradually surpass others."
Han Junxiong nodded heavily. "Okay, if that's the case, I will accompany you to Kui City. But let
warn you in advance: those individuals there are not easily persuaded. You'll need to offer sothing of truly equivalent value to get them to serve you. Even if you manage that, you'll still need to be extrely cautious to protect us both. After all, these guys are no pushovers."
Wang Zhan smiled and replied, "Don't worry. If I can refine elixirs, I can have them provide the materials. I'll also benefit greatly and improve my own elixir-refining skills."
"Furthermore, this way, I can win people's hearts and have more fighters around . Why wouldn't I do it?"
Nearby, Han Junxiong spoke again, "Since you've made your decision, I just need to follow your intentions. I don't need to worry about anything. Even if they recognize my identity, I doubt they'd dare do anything to , much less make things difficult for you. So, a trip to Kui City is indeed feasible."
Wang Zhan just smiled and nodded. After all, he had been near Kui City for so long but had never actually stepped foot inside. Now might be the ti to go in and take a good look.
"But, if I may ask, are we looking for them solely because we need a group of fighters?" Han Junxiong asked, glancing at Wang Zhan as they walked.
Wang Zhan shook his head and said, "Now that we know how to refine elixirs, we need a large number of demon cores. But how could the two of us possibly obtain so many demon cores on our own? We need to expand our strength. Only then can I continue to improve my own power, refine more and better elixirs, and also win people's loyalty. It's like killing three birds with one stone."
Han Junxiong, at his side, nodded heavily. He never imagined Wang Zhan would have considered so much; it completely belied his age. But then again, was this the first ti Wang Zhan had done sothing so astonishing?
As they spoke, the two of them arrived in the vicinity of Kui City.
Standing outside the City Gate, Wang Zhan squinted as he surveyed Kui City's defenses. He had to admit, this city was indeed much better fortified than Tianxiong City. The defenses of the two cities couldn't even be compared. Even if those demonic beasts wanted to attack Kui City, it would likely be no easy task. They would only need to lock the City Gate, and those demonic beasts probably wouldn't be able to break through. If Tianxiong City had defenses like these, its inhabitants wouldn't still be worrying about living in such difficult tis.
"Since we're already here, let's not hesitate any longer. Shall we go in now?" Han Junxiong asked with a smile.
Wang Zhan nodded, indeed eager to find out if there were any potential allies within Kui City.
While talking, they walked towards the main gate of Kui City. However, Wang Zhan found it strange that such a large city didn't seem to restrict entry.
Glancing at Han Junxiong beside him, Wang Zhan asked with a smile, "The administration here is so lax. Aren't they worried about demonic beasts sneaking in?"
Han Junxiong just laughed and responded, "Even if demonic beasts did sneak in, so what?"
Although everyone in Kui City had their own agendas, there were still many experts among them. Having stayed here for a long ti, they were naturally familiar with the strength of the nearby demonic beasts. Besides, demonic beasts possessed their own Divine Sense, so why would they needlessly risk their lives? After all, fighting the people here would bring them no benefits and might even cost them their lives. Thus, for a long ti, the demonic beasts and the people here had maintained a relatively peaceful coexistence.
"You've spent more ti here. Why don't you recomnd a place? If I want to find so people who could be useful to us, where should we look?" Wang Zhan asked nonchalantly.
Han Junxiong squinted, hesitating for a good while before saying, "Then, naturally, we should check out the clubhouse."
"There's a large clubhouse here, and it's usually filled with people, including so powerful individuals. Many of the experts passing through the city also like to frequent this clubhouse. So, if we go in, we might find so potential allies. However, these people are extrely arrogant and stubborn, so convincing them will not be an easy task."
Hearing this, Wang Zhan's interest was piqued. He scanned the surrounding streets, his gaze quickly settling on the tallest building in sight. It was the most luxurious one around; that must be the clubhouse Han Junxiong was talking about.
In a few strides, they reached the entrance of the clubhouse.
But just as they were about to enter, a cold sneer ca from behind them.
"Well, well, who do we have here? I didn't expect to run into you, you useless loser!"
"Have you forgotten the rules here? Hasn't this clubhouse declared that Bounty Hunters like you aren't allowed?"
"Who gave you the nerve to co here? Get lost, now!"
Hearing this, Wang Zhan and Han Junxiong turned around. Upon seeing the man standing before them, Han Junxiong's expression instantly beca most unsightly.
Han Junxiong quickly grabbed Wang Zhan's arm, then frowned and said, "This guy is a local bully. It's not because he's particularly strong, but because the Family he relies on possesses extrely formidable power. That's why, for all these years, no one has dared to provoke him. And he's always been hostile towards us Bounty Hunters. Listening to him, it's clear he considers you one as well."
Wang Zhan squinted at the young man speaking. Though the youth was rather handso, his face bore a sinister expression; he didn't look like a good person at all.
"Didn't you hear ? This clubhouse doesn't welco any Bounty Hunters, so get out imdiately! If you insist on loitering here, don't bla
for being impolite. After all, Bounty Hunters like you are nothing more than rats living in the sewers. Daring to show up in broad daylight... Do you really think you're fit to be seen?"
At his side, Wang Zhan's fist clenched slightly. This was going too far!
Wang Zhan could tell that the young man before them wasn't particularly strong. It had to be that Han Junxiong was only afraid of the faction behind the youth, which was why he had been enduring it without retaliating. But with Wang Zhan present, Han Junxiong naturally didn't need to fear this young man any longer. Even if they weren't a match for the youth's Family, if they decided to leave, those people probably couldn't stop them.
Having figured this out, Wang Zhan patted Han Junxiong's shoulder, then squinted at the young man before them and said with a contemptuous smile, "Just a loser like him can oppress you?"
"Go on, teach him a lesson. Even if the sky cos crashing down, I'll be right here beside you, backing you up. No one will be able to give you a hard ti."
Hearing this, Han Junxiong's fists clenched tightly, and a cold smirk appeared on his lips. After all, with Wang Zhan by his side, there was truly nothing to fear.
The young man, however, shot Wang Zhan a cold glare, a disdainful sneer forming on his lips. He frowned and said, "And who the hell are you, kid? You look unfamiliar; must be your first ti here, right? Well, that's understandable then. You probably don't know the rules around here. But there's a first ti for everything. Since you're new, I'll enlighten you about how things work here."
"I don't care who you are, kid, but you better rember one thing: around here, I call the shots!"
"So, before I lose my temper, you'd better kneel down in front of
and apologize properly. Otherwise, based on what you just said, you already deserve to die several tis over."
