"Of course!" The captain nodded.
"The power of these new landmines is ten tis greater than the ones we used before. I don't believe that after triggering so many landmines, he can escape without serious injuries!" a young man grinned confidently.
The captain glanced at the young man but didn't say anything, as he felt that the situation wasn't that simple.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Just then, several more explosions rang out, getting closer and closer. This indicated that the target was approaching them, and what was even more important was that it seed the target was completely unaffected by the landmines. The target continued to advance towards them.
"How many explosions did we hear just now?" the captain asked seriously.
"It sounded like nineteen!" one young man hurriedly replied.
Upon hearing this, the captain's expression grew even more serious, and he furrowed his brows. "This isn't right! I placed twenty landmines. According to that, if he triggered nineteen of them, even if he's invincible, he should be heavily injured by now. How is he walking unhard?"
"Yeah, could this guy be invulnerable?"
"I can't believe anyone could pass through those landmines unscathed. If he had avoided them, it might make sense, but those landmines clearly detonated. You guys should—"
"Boom!"
Before the man could finish his sentence, another explosion sounded right next to them, indicating that the last landmine had been triggered.
At that mont, everyone stared ahead attentively. With the violent explosion, thick smoke filled the air. From within the smoke, a figure slowly erged.
"How... how is this even possible?" The captain was left dumbfounded when he saw Connor completely unhard. He stood there in shock, not knowing how to describe his feelings. It was as if he had seen a ghost – soone who could walk unscathed through those landmines.
"No wonder this guy is worth so much!" a young man stamred.
"Are you all just standing there? Open fire and don't let him get any closer!" The captain finally realized that sothing was terribly wrong and shouted urgently.
The team quickly raised their rifles and began firing at him. However, what happened next was even more unbelievable. There seed to have no effect on Connor as bullets hit him; they simply bounced off him. Bullets pelted the ground around him as he continued to approach.
"What kind of person is he? Why are the bullets not affecting him?" one young man asked, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"Is this guy a human or a ghost?"
Another young man pulled out a grenade and threw it toward Connor. They watched the grenade explode right in front of him, but when the smoke cleared, he remained unhard.
These people had tried every thod they could think of, but they couldn't inflict any harm on him. In fact, the explosion from the grenade would have been enough to turn a car into ashes, yet Connor erged unscathed. It was a sight that left them feeling utterly hopeless.
"Captain, what should we do now?" a young man stuttered.
"What else can we do? We're no match for him. Retreat quickly!" the captain said in resignation.
The team mbers didn't waste any ti and turned to run. However, Connor knew they were Blood Shadow operatives, and he wasn't about to let them go. He simply waved his hand, and a golden light shot out.
Wherever the light passed, whether it was vegetation or the Blood Shadow operatives, they were all instantly cut in half. These people had no chance to beg for rcy or cry out – they died on the spot.
In less than half a minute, the entire Blood Shadow team had been eliminated by Connor.
After dealing with them, Connor didn't hesitate and continued his journey into the mountains. This battle had only been the beginning, and many more Blood Shadow teams lay in wait for him. They were all enticed by William's generous bounty, thinking that even if they couldn't defeat him, they could at least delay him for so ti. However, they had no idea about his true identity. If they knew they were facing the infamous Soul Eater, even with a thousand tis more courage, they wouldn't dare to confront him.
As Connor drew closer to William's location, the teams sent to intercept him would beco stronger, their equipnt more terrifying, and their numbers greater. But even so, these teams couldn't stop Connor.
In less than an hour, countless Blood Shadow operatives had fallen to his hands.
This ti, he was truly on a killing spree.
anwhile, William remained in Blood Shadow's command center. Many advised him to retreat, as Connor was headed his way. If he left the command center, the other Blood Shadow mbers might have a chance to escape safely.
However, for so reason, he refused to leave.
"Mr. William, sothing terrible has happened. Our seventh, eighth, and ninth teams have all been completely wiped out. This Connor's power is terrifying!" a middle-aged man rushed to William's side, his expression full of panic.
"What did you say?" William's eyes widened in disbelief upon hearing this news. His face expressed a level of astonishnt he had never felt before.
"Mr. William, the sixth team has also been wiped out!" Another voice chid in.
At that mont, it seed like everything was falling apart for William.
"All of you, what are you eating? How can so many of you fail to stop one Connor?" he shouted angrily, unable to comprehend how Connor had overwheld them so easily.
However, what he didn't know was that, with the assistance of the Profound Bead, Connor's battle power far exceeded what anyone could have imagined. The operatives' attacks had barely made a dent in his formidable defenses.
