"At this point, do you think I have any reason to deceive you?" Taran replied coldly.

Hearing this, the group exchanged glances. Though they found it hard to comprehend what he had told them, they also knew that he had no reason to lie to them at this point.

"When I learned of the true intentions of the Cult Leader, I imdiately wanted to escape. However, the strength of the Blood Moon Sect is terrifying, and I had no chance against them. Eventually, I was locked up, and then you all ca in, one by one," Taran continued.

"Why did the Cult Leader choose us then?" the young man with a furrowed brow asked.

"Because your bodies all et the conditions for the Cult Leader's resurrection," Taran replied.

The young man hesitated for a couple of seconds, then loudly exclaid, "You must be lying! If the Cult Leader really intends to use our bodies for his resurrection, why did he wait until now to take action?"

"Yeah, if what you're saying is true, you should have been with the Blood Moon Sect for a long ti. Why wait until this mont to start the resurrection?" others chid in, voicing their doubts.

"He waited for so many years because his previous strength didn't allow him to resurrect. Now he has gained the power he needs for the resurrection," Taran calmly explained in response to their skepticism.

The group's expressions turned desperate upon hearing his explanation. They realized that everything he had said was indeed true.

Inside the sacrificial chamber, the Blood Moon Sect's leader finally entered. An elderly disciple rushed forward to greet him, saying in a low voice, "Master, the ritual preparations are complete. We can start when you're ready."

"Good," the Cult Leader nodded and slowly ascended the altar.

Beneath the altar were nearly tens of thousands of innocent sacrifices. Although so of the disciples of the Blood Moon Sect and the followers of the Netherworld Sect had been released by Connor, the Blood Moon Sect's influence in Winam was still imnse. Additionally, many smaller, unknown sects were branches of the Blood Moon Sect, so they could easily gather the required number of sacrifices.

These sacrifices were enough to provide the Cult Leader with the energy needed for the resurrection.

The Blood Moon Sect's several elders began the ritual, chanting incantations in unison. After a few minutes, a massive black array appeared beneath the feet of the sacrifices.

The expressions of those who had been chosen as sacrifices turned to fear as the array absorbed their souls, causing them intense suffering.

Taran and the others trapped in the cage could see everything happening below. At this mont, they understood that everything Taran had told them was true.

The array absorbed the souls of those sacrifices, converting them into dark energy that would be absorbed by the Cult Leader. It seed as if everything was proceeding according to the Cult Leader's plan.

Inside the cage, the onlookers watched in horror as the array continued to drain the life force from the sacrifices, turning them into withered corpses. Their faces went from fear to despair and eventually beca numb because they knew that they might face the sa fate.

After an unknown amount of ti, the array finally ceased its operation. The Cult Leader stood up from his seat, his expression filled with satisfaction.

"Congratulations, Master!"

"Congratulations, Master!"

The mbers of the Blood Moon Sect knelt down and hailed their leader.

"Prepare for the resurrection ceremony!" the Cult Leader ordered.

"Yes!"

One of the elders responded and then walked toward Taran and the others' cage. When they saw the elder approaching, fear gripped their hearts. They knew that if they stepped out of the cage now, they would surely be used by the Cult Leader for his resurrection.

The elder's face displayed impatience, and he reached into the cage, grabbing a middle-aged man without any regard for his pleas. He dragged the man out of the cage.

The man, terrified, knelt on the ground and begged, his voice trembling, "Please, don't kill , I beg you..."

The Cult Leader, hearing the man's pleas, couldn't help but chuckle. He then placed his right hand on the man's head, and in the next mont, the man's face twisted into a grotesque expression, emitting screams of agony.

Inside the cage, the onlookers witnessed this horrifying scene, their expressions filled with despair.

After a while, the Cult Leader vanished from their sight. The man who had been taken out of the cage stood up slowly, his face now a mask of emptiness.

"Success?" one of the Blood Moon Sect's elders asked with excitent when he saw this.

The man who had been possessed by the Cult Leader nodded in response, and the elder's face showed a sense of triumph.
