Albert's expression beca extrely unpleasant upon hearing Beau's words.
However, at this mont, he didn't know how to defend himself.
"How do you plan to handle this matter? If the Goz family finds out about this, they will believe that our Collier family is in cahoots with Connor. Our alliance with the Goz family will be seen as helping Connor gather information. You must handle this matter properly!" Beau said coldly to Albert.
Though Aida's collaboration with Connor angered Beau, he considered it a minor issue compared to the potential consequences of the Goz family misunderstanding their true intentions.
"Dad, I'll call Aida right now and find out what's going on!" Albert hesitated for a mont and then took out his phone to call Aida.
Beau watched Albert attentively.
Soon, Albert put down his phone and whispered to Beau, "she didn't answer the call."
"She probably realized that her actions had been exposed, so she ran away," Colie suggested after a mont of thought.
After hesitating for two seconds, Albert asked softly, "Dad, where did you get these photos from?"
"I received a package this morning, and these photos were inside it!" Beau replied.
Upon hearing this, Albert's expression seed even more puzzled because he couldn't understand where these photos ca from and what the purpose behind sending them to Beau was.
"Albert, how do you plan to handle this matter?" Beau, currently preoccupied, asked.
"Dad, don't worry; I'll definitely handle this. I have soone start searching for Aida's whereabouts right away!" Albert hastily replied.
"Then what are you waiting for? Go find her for now. I must confront Aida and find out why she betrays our family for an outsider!" Clearly, Beau was furious about his granddaughter's betrayal.
Although Beau supports Cielo to beco the future head of the Collier family, he still cares about Aida. If not, she wouldn't have so much influence over the family business.
Upon hearing Beau's words, Albert wasted no ti and imdiately headed towards the door.
Just then, Albert's phone suddenly rang.
He hurriedly took out his phone, noticing it was a call from Aida. He answered it eagerly and asked, "Aida, where are you now?"
"Mr. Albert, I'm not Aida!" Connor's voice echoed.
Albert found Connor's voice sowhat familiar, but since he had only t him once, he furrowed his brow and asked, "Who are you?"
"Mr. Albert, you haven't forgotten so soon, have you? You tead up with the Goz family to deal with , didn't you?" Connor said, grinning.
"Connor?" Albert's expression turned angry.
In this world, Connor was the person Albert hated the most. If it weren't for Connor, the Collier family wouldn't be in such turmoil.
Beau also gazed at Albert with a faint expression.
Cielo's face showed signs of change as he struggled to comprehend why Connor would call Albert now.
"Connor, why are you calling ? And how did you get Aida's phone?" Albert asked anxiously.
"Mr. Albert, your daughter Aida is in my hands right now. You see, it's quite a coincidence. I bumped into your daughter in York, and I even brought her to Yanjing. Shouldn't you thank ?" Connor said with a sly smile.
"You kidnapped Aida?" Albert asked, bewildered.
"Let's not use such harsh words. Your daughter is rely in my custody. It doesn't really count as kidnapping…" Connor said softly.
"What do you want, then?" Albert shouted in agitation.
"Here's the deal: so things can't be discussed over the phone. Tonight at 5 o'clock, let's et at the Imperial Restaurant. It's a safe place. If I don't see your people there, you can forget about seeing Aida again!" Connor said before hanging up.
Albert stared at his phone, looking sowhat dazed.
"What's going on?" Beau looked at Albert and asked.
"Dad, it seems we misunderstood Aida. She hasn't done anything wrong. Connor kidnapped her, and he just called to extort us…" Albert explained in a hushed tone.
Connor's call had left Albert with mixed feelings—relieved that Aida hadn't betrayed the family but worried about her safety in Connor's hands.
Beau listened and then looked down at the photos on the table, saying softly, "If it's really Connor who kidnapped Aida, then these photos start to make sense…"
"Exactly, Dad. Aida has been busy managing the Collier family business all these years. She couldn't possibly have any connection with Connor." Albert quickly added.
Cielo's expression underwent so changes upon hearing the conversation between Beau and Albert. He couldn't believe that Connor was shadowing Aida all this ti.
Beau, with a low voice, said, "Wenzhuo, since it appears that Connor is responsible for Aida's situation, you should go and handle this matter. No matter what, we must rescue Aida. After all, she's been in charge of the oil field project, and if anything happens to her, it'll be a huge loss for the Collier family."
"I understand," Albert replied softly, nodding.
"Both of you, leave now," Beau waved his hand.
Albert silently breathed a sigh of relief, then turned and exited the study.
