"Lover?"
Upon hearing this, Waverly's face showed a hint of anger. She pouted and muttered, "n are all the sa, not a single good one among them..."
"n like Connor, even if they have multiple lovers, it's quite normal, isn't it?" Cheiko mused.
As Waverly looked at Cheiko, she couldn't help but be taken aback for a mont. Then she softly asked, "If Connor asked you to be his lover, would you be willing or not?"
"Of course, I would!" Cheiko replied without any hesitation, nodding decisively.
Waverly gave Cheiko a disdainful look.
Cheiko chuckled helplessly and said, "Although I'd be willing, it seems that Connor isn't interested."
anwhile, after a brief cleanup, Connor led Cheiko and Waverly towards the location of the Bander family.
...
At the sa ti, in Honduria, within the Bander family estate.
Though on the surface, the Bander family estate appeared the sa as usual, it was actually harboring hundreds of martial arts guards. Even handguns were issued to these guards. They had been brought in overnight from elsewhere by Palr to ensure his safety.
The senior mbers of the Bander family were also restricted from leaving. They were effectively under house arrest, not allowed to go outside.
The Bander family was now on a high state of alert.
For so many years, Palr had never felt such fear and nervousness. He had always considered Connor as his prey, thinking that once Connor entered Honduria, he was as good as dead.
However, he had co to realize just how terrifying an opponent Connor was.
"Yaakov, how dare you deceive ? Are you trying to get killed?" Palr angrily shouted into his phone.
"Mr. Palr, why are you getting so worked up? Connor is just a young brat. Dealing with him should be a straightforward matter, right?" Yaakov's voice sounded calm and composed.
"Mr. Palr, how could you think of that way? We've always been on good terms. What benefit would I gain from having Connor get rid of you?" Yaakov asked in a seemingly innocent tone.
"Stop pretending with . Once I'm done dealing with Connor, I'll settle accounts with you!" Palr gritted his teeth.
"Haha, sure, I'll be waiting for you!" Yaakov couldn't help but burst into laughter.
Palr threw his phone to the ground and muttered through clenched teeth, "Yaakov, I'll make sure to get back at you sooner or later..."
Outside the room, Deryn and Eira exchanged helpless glances upon hearing Palr's outburst. This was the first ti they had seen Palr so agitated in so many years.
"Big sister, Father seems really pushed to his limits this ti..." Deryn remarked with a sigh.
"All our shares are currently held in Swiss banks. Once Connor completes the transfer with the bank, the Bander family will truly be left with nothing..." Eira furrowed her brows.
"Is the situation really this dire?" Deryn's expression turned astonished.
"Father believed that Wadi would definitely defeat Connor, which is why he agreed to Connor's challenge initially. It started with a wager of $10 billion, but Connor raised it to $100 billion. Father didn't want to give up on the opportunity, so he staked all our family's assets on the bet. Now, Father has lost..." Eira explained softly.
"Why is Father being so foolish?" Deryn shook her head in disbelief.
"No one could have foreseen just how formidable Connor would turn out to be," Eira sighed and continued, "However, it seems the situation isn't as dire as we imagine. After all, Connor's woman is still in Father's hands, and Connor killed Wadi. Jiang Yifan won't let Connor off easily. So, Father still has a chance to contend with Connor!"
"I never thought this Connor would bring such disaster to our Bander family. We really underestimated him back then!" Deryn said with a furrowed brow.
"Eira,, co in!" Just then, Palr's voice ca from the room, calling Eira inside.
Hearing her father's summons, Eira quickly entered the room. She respectfully inquired, "Father, you called for ? What is it?"
Palr turned his head to look at her, then said, "Bring the daughter of the Seventh Elder here as well. I need to talk to the two of you."
"Alright..." Eira replied and then left the room.
A few minutes later, Eugenia, accompanied by Eira, entered Palr's room.
Eugenia was feeling quite nervous at the mont. She had no idea why Palr had called her here, but she suspected it was related to Connor in so way. Having lived in the Bander family for so many years, this was the first ti she had entered Palr's office.
Palr, however, was unusually warm towards Eugenia. He smiled and said, "Eugenia, you're becoming more and more beautiful..."
"Thank you for the complint!" she replied nervously.
"Here's the situation. I've called the two of you here today to discuss sothing. Are you aware of the wager between Connor and our Bander family?" Palr asked with a serious expression.
"We are aware," Eira nodded gently.
Eugenia, on the other hand, appeared confused.
"I made a bet with Connor. If he could defeat Wadi, I promised to give him control over all of our family's assets. Now that the results are out, Connor indeed defeated Wadi. Therefore, everything our Bander family possesses might beco Connor's at any ti," Palr explained to Eugenia.
Her expression turned extrely incredulous upon hearing this. She had never expected such a wager between Palr and Connor.
Staring wide-eyed, she couldn't find words to describe her astonishnt. She was utterly taken aback and unsure of how to process her current emotions.
