"Hiding his strength?" Chieko was confused.
"Yes, you can tell from his first punch. Mr. Connor isn't rely a Yellow Rank warrior. A Yellow Rank warrior wouldn't possess such power. No wonder he was willing to forgo the Chi Receiving Pill. It turns out he was hiding his strength!" Waverly explained.
While the Chi Receiving Pill were potent, they had limitations. Their effectiveness diminished as one's strength increased. Once consud by a warrior at the Black-rank or above, the pills would have no effect. So, Connor's reliance on the pills had decreased significantly.
What puzzled Waverly was when Connor had broken through his realm. When she first t him, he was only at the Yellow Rank.
"Will Mr. Connor's chances of winning improve?"
Chieko, not well-versed in martial matters, asked anxiously.
Waverly pondered for a mont and then softly said, "Even though Mr. Connor was hiding his strength, I don't believe he has reached the Black-rank . Hence, it's still uncertain who will win in the battle against Wadi. However, Mr. Connor's chances of winning have certainly increased."
"That's great news..."
Chieko's face lit up upon hearing this.
On the other hand, Palr and the others seed a bit displeased.
It was quite straightforward. They had also deduced that Connor had been hiding his true strength all along.
"Is Connor being too cunning? He was intentionally concealing his strength!"
Deryn's brow furrowed.
"Being able to deceive so many people is also a skill of Connor's!"
Jenna responded calmly.
"Yes, we underestimated Connor. But now, I feel that he's ticulously prepared for everything he does. He's not a fool; he's quite clever!"
Palr added.
"Even if Connor is hiding his strength, what difference does it make? Wadi will surely defeat him!"
Wesley said nonchalantly.
"Hopefully, that's the case."
Franco sighed softly.
Palr had been keeping his gaze fixed on Connor the whole ti. In his mind, he was already formulating a plan for what he should do if, by any chance, Wadi lost to Connor.
"Wesley, co over here!"
Palr suddenly spoke.
Wesley hesitated for a mont, then hurriedly followed Palr to the side.
Jenna looked at Wesley, her expression sowhat strange, but she didn't say much.
A few minutes later, Palr returned alone, and Wesley had disappeared.
"Mr. White, where's Wesley?"
Jenna asked in a hushed voice.
"I had him take care of sothing!"
Palr didn't explain further, responding in a flat tone.
Upon hearing this, Jenna's expression beca even stranger. She had a vague sense that what Palr had tasked Wesley with was related to the battle between Connor and Wadi.
As for the exact nature of the task, Jenna wasn't quite sure.
However, she knew Palr well. He was the kind of person who would persist until he achieved his goal.
Nonetheless, Palr was her imdiate superior, so even if she had a sense of foreboding, she dared not say much.
On the mountaintop.
Wadi looked at Connor in an odd expression and muttered, "Connor, I never expected you were hiding your true strength all along..."
"If I didn't hide my strength, why would you challenge ? Why would Palr be so confident in making the wager with ?"
Connor smiled and replied.
"I underestimated you just now..."
Wadi took a deep breath, his expression turning fierce, and he continued, "But even if you're concealing your strength, what difference does it make? Today, you still can't defeat !"
"Is that so?"
Connor looked at Wadi and asked.
Wadi hesitated for a couple of seconds and then said in a low voice, "I initially thought that dealing with soone like you wouldn't require this. But now, it seems I've underestimated you. Allowing to use the Celestial Dragonblade is already your great honor, isn't it?"
"The Celestial Dragonblade?"
Connor was montarily stunned by his words.
Wadi then took out a long blade from behind him.
This blade emitted an eerie green light, giving off a strange sensation, like a venomous snake ready to pierce an enemy's heart at any mont.
"This Celestial Dragonblade was forged by one of the most renowned swordsmiths in Honduria. My grandfather used this blade to defeat nurous grandmasters on your mainland. He passed it down to yesterday. Initially, I thought I wouldn't need to use this blade against you. However, your performance has exceeded my expectations. It's quite an honor for you that I'm using this blade against you."
Wadi spoke softly.
"It's just a blade. Do you have to make it sound so impressive?"
Connor's tone carried a hint of disdain.
"Hehe..."
Wadi chuckled coldly and added, "You'll regret what you just said..."
"Enough with the chatter. Let's get on with it!"
Connor said expressionlessly.
Wadi's expression turned angry, and he activated his internal energy.
As a Black-rank warrior, Wadi had excellent control over her internal energy. The energy enveloped the Celestial Dragonblade.
Connor squinted at Wadi. Although he had spoken so casually earlier, he hadn't let his guard down. He could sense that the Celestial Dragonblade was indeed dangerous.

Wadi roared at Connor.
