The projects being worked on now are expansions of the 2CV-Bing Hydrogen Molecule research, and the idea of accomplishing any significant findings is almost impossible considering the lack of basic conditions.
"It seems that one must apply for major projects in the future if one wants any chance of achieving great results."
So pondered Zhao Yi.
Visiting the Biodical Research Institute to check on the progress of projects was a rare leisurely ti. Just as he walked out of the institute, he was stopped by a few journalists. There were also school-related personnel accompanying them.
Only on closer inspection did Zhao Yi understand - it was an interview team from CCTV.
CCTV certainly receives a different kind of treatnt. One generally needs to accept interviews from CCTV, after all, it’s a ans of positive publicity.
Zhao Yi greeted the interview team.
The lead reporter of the group was Zhou Jun, who was in charge of academic interviews. He had interviewed many professors and academicians, including Qiu Chengwen and Yang Zhenning. His past ’work accomplishnts’ were impressive.
Zhao Yi also knew Zhou Jun, who had interviewed him before. It’s always good to et familiar people. They all chatted and laughed as they walked to the School of Sciences building and entered Zhao Yi’s office.
The interview took place in the small office space.
Zhao Yi sat in the chair with a smile, ready to start responding to Zhou Jun’s questions.
When the caraman had adjusted the cara, Zhou Jun picked up the microphone and asked, "Professor Zhao, could you introduce us to the Supersymtry Problem? Many people are interested in your latest research findings."
Zhao Yi nodded, "Supersymtry is foundational to theoretical physics. On the surface, it speaks of the symtry between fermions and bosons, but in reality, it is a fundantal part of the physical symtry system."
"In physics, there are many symtry rules. These rules make physics, especially microscopic physics’s mathematical system, look beautiful and well-rounded. Supersymtry is one of the foundations..."
He spoke continuously for about three minutes.
Zhou Jun could understand at the beginning, but he started to get lost as Zhao Yi continued. He hurriedly interrupted to ask, "Could you then talk about the importance of supersymtry? Many academic fields say that your proof of the Supersymtry Problem is a critical event in theoretical physics, why is that?"
Zhao Yi wanted to continue explaining supersymtry, but he was interrupted, which slightly annoyed him. Still, he patiently explained, "The Supersymtry Problem appeared in the last century. It has beco a rule that many physical theories have defaulted to after decades of developnt."
"Rules, are fundantals," he thought for a while, realizing his previous explanation was too complex for Zhou Jun, he had to try and simplify it, "To give a simple example, take 1 1 equals 2, that’s a rule. From there we can say 1 2 equals 3, which requires the presupposition that 1 1 equals 2. It’s only when we know that 1 1 equals 2, that we can continue to prove higher equations. Do you understand?"
Zhou Jun stared at Zhao Yi with a strange expression.
Zhao Yi felt like this interview was more of a dialogue with Zhou Jun. Zhou Jun was a college-educated man, couldn’t he tolerate a more challenging example?
1 1 equals 2?
Was he treating him like a child? Especially with the additional phrase "Do you understand" at the end, it was as if he was afraid Zhou Jun didn’t understand.
Zhao Yi continued the introduction, "Many physical theories developed in recent decades are based on supersymtry. The physics world is terrified of one thing - that supersymtry is wrong. If it was wrong, theoretical physics would go through a major earthquake, and the work of many physicists that took decades of their life may beco a joke. Therefore, proving supersymtry is extrely important, it lays the foundation for other theories."
Zhou Jun took a deep breath, glanced at his notebook, and continued to ask, "Could you talk about why you launched this research?"
Zhao Yi answered, "This is a part of my research. I worked with Mr. Edward Witten to construct a mathematical system of multidinsional space boundaries. He was responsible for the M Theory part, and I took care of the external mathematical part. To construct the mathematics of particles, they had to deal with supersymtry, which is also the basis of M Theory. To make progress in research, I had to prove it."
With interest, Zhou Jun asked again, "Could you talk about this collaboration project? I heard an interesting term: multidinsional space."
Zhao Yi smiled and said, "The proof of multidinsional space is essentially the study of M Theory. The purpose is to unify the two pillars of 20th-century science: quantum chanics and the general theory of relativity, which are incompatible."
"Quantum chanics, compared to Newtonian physics and the theory of relativity, are two completely different things. But why? We all live in the sa universe, technically, all rules should be unified. The physics community has always been dedicated to unifying the four forces. The developnt of M Theory is based on unification..."
Zhao Yi went on to talk about many professional matters.
Explaining multi-dinsional space is no easy task. The academic understanding of multi-dinsional space is not the ’space travel’ portrayed in novels and movies. It is a concept ford on the basis of respecting the logical frawork of the mathematical system.
This made Zhou Jun feel lost and he hurriedly interrupted to ask simpler questions.
For example, how long has Zhao Yi been researching, his thoughts upon completing the research, and anything else he wanted to say.
Zhao Yi knew he couldn’t delve into complex topics during the interview, so he gave simple answers. However, these ’formalities’ questions were uninteresting, and he responded with re perfunctory.
