Therefore, the ’Highest Science and Technology Award’ is often the least disputed, nobody would ever challenge an eighty-year-old veteran for an award recognizing their lifelong achievent.
Next up, the Natural Science Award.
The official on the stage announced with a clear and strong voice, "National Natural Science Award, First-class, the awarded project is the research on the ’Three-Dinsional Tremor Waveforms’ in Mathematics, The awardee is Professor Zhao Yi from the Mathematics Departnt of Yanhua University."
"Whooosh~~"
A rare wave of discussions rippled through the hall, followed closely by a round of applause.
Many people were whispering or exchanging glances.
"Surely, it’s Zhao Yi! First-class award!"
"It’s not the Goldbach Conjecture project, they awarded the Three-Dinsional Tremor Waveforms."
"There’s only one First-Class Natural Science Award this year, and they gave it straight to Zhao Yi, how cunning of the judges!"
The brilliance of the judges lies in awarding just one First-Class Natural Science Award.
Even for the ’Three-Dinsional Tremor Waveforms’, there is no other dostic personal research project that could rival it. Only one Natural Science Award could be given, otherwise there would be doubts - "Can so unknown research be compared with Zhao Yi’s Three-Dinsional Tremor Waveform? I haven’t seen any international results reported!"
That’s the awkward part.
The judges want to give out more first-class awards, but no one would dare accept it, as none of them have the confidence to claim that their research can match Zhao Yi’s waveform diagram.
That was a smart move, indeed.
Excluding the Goldbach Conjecture, Zhao Yi has two achievents in mathematics, both of which were recognized by the National Bureau of Science and Technology as contributions to the developnt of national science and technology.
One is the Three-Dinsional Tremor Waveform.
The National Bureau of Science and Technology has issued several projects on Three-Dinsional Tremor Waveform.
The other is the theory of Digital Compression Technology.
Only insiders knew about this project and it hadn’t been publicly announced. It also deserved a national-level award for greatly improving the performance of satellite imaging and positioning, and filling the gaps in mathematical theory in the field of dostic high-end technology.
The awarded project was eventually the Three-Dinsional Tremor Waveform, due to its higher international reputation and the sensitive nature of the Digital Compression Technology theory.
Zhao Yi’s award caused so discussion, but the reading of the awards on stage didn’t stop.
The next award was announced.
Of the two projects from the Biodical Research Institute, the Myocarditis Factor Research received a second-class technological progress award, and the Rheumatoid Arthritis research, unexpectedly, won the first-class award.
Reading all the awards once wasn’t easy. There were more than two hundred projects and tens of nas, which took nearly an hour to read through.
Then ca the photography and awarding session.
The leadership team would take a group photo with the awardees. Many staff were also guiding the participants on where to stand, but it was still sowhat chaotic. Everyone wanted to stand more central, preferably near the front row leaders.
Zhao Yi felt like returning to high school or junior high school days, taking a group photo with the whole class. He didn’t want to fight for a spot with a bunch of old n, so he just stood in the most inconspicuous spot at the edge.
Suddenly, soone in the center waved to him.
Zhao Yi looked over, quite surprised. A staff beside him imdiately said, "Professor Zhao, co to the center."
He followed the staff’s lead to the front and most noticeable spot.
Actually, it wasn’t the front row. He stood behind the leaders, which is the second row. The first row was occupied by a few leaders and two awardees of the Highest Science and Technology Awards.
The people in the back just stood wherever they liked.
Standing behind the leaders, Zhao Yi felt a bit different, his face was filled with genuine smiles.
"Did you see that?"
"You can’t just squeeze in for the C position, right? To get in the C position requires strength. If you’re good-looking... cough cough!"
