After the internal eting of the Nuclear Organization ended, an insider approached him, offering a new researcher contract.

As soon as he signed this contract, he beca a researcher for the Nuclear Organization.

Zhao Yi was initially resistant, but then realized that being a researcher for the Nuclear Organization actually entailed doing nothing; it was rely a representational role.

It’s like becoming a mber of a certain academic organization.

The Nuclear Organization is an international research institution with a base near the town. The researchers within it are highly mobile; most researchers are simply token mbers. Top physicists who don’t participate in the organization’s internal work also beco researchers.

Zhao Yi had previously been involved in the team’s work as a mber of a dostic team and as an intern of the organization.

But now it’s different.

Because his research has such a great impact, the Nuclear Organization definitely wants him to beco ’one of us’. Otherwise, it would sound strange for an outsider to analyze the organization’s experintal data and discover new particles.

Zhao Yi thought about it - becoming a researcher was equivalent to gaining an extra identity, which could only benefit him.

So, it was pretty good.

The status of being a researcher of the Nuclear Organization does not co with any pay, it is just a proof of identity, but it does have its benefits - for example, it makes it easier to apply for a European visa, and it is also possible to sign long-term or short-term work contracts with the laboratory.

And so forth.

Ti passed slowly.

Zhao Yi, the protagonist of the experint, led a serene life while the Nuclear Organization was rushing about his research. He occasionally went to the conference center to check on the progress of the verification work, hoping to find out when it would be completed and what he needed to do. Apart from that, his ti was at his own disposal.

Zhao Yi originally planned to use this ti to do sothing else, such as studying the Goldbach Conjecture.

But he decided to take it easy instead.

For a long ti after arriving in Switzerland, he had been busy working and sotis took a stroll around the town.

Aside from the day of the experintal test, he had never left the town, which was quite boring. So, he decided to take a break and travel.

Zhao Yi hired a driver and went sightseeing in this city and that, even considering going to Amsterdam, Netherlands or Hamburg, Germany, which apparently were the two most famous paradises for n in Europe.

Unfortunately, they were too far away!

"Switzerland, it’s not a very good country!"

"There are no such places..."

"Next ti I co to Europe, I’ll definitely choose the Netherlands or Germany!"

Zhao Yi thought seriously.

After traveling around a few nearby cities, a week passed.

Most of the dostic team had already left, and the only familiar person left was Ruan Wenye.

Actually, Ruan Wenye could have left as well, his ti was extrely precious and he should have returned ho when he could. But, the matter that the Nuclear Organization was studying was too important.

Ruan Wenye decided to wait for the results with Zhao Yi.

If Zhao Yi’s discovery were to be confird, the honor would not only belong to Zhao Yi, but also to the entire dostic team and even the country.

That would be the Higgs particle!

No Chinese descendant, let alone a Chinese scholar, had been involved in the prediction of the existence of the Higgs particle or the validation of its properties.

But now?

A young scholar from the holand discovered it through computing thods.

This put the holand’s physics and computer science an honor, arousening a great sense of honor in the academic circles in the holand. It ans much more than just a research discovery.

Thinking about all this, Ruan Wenye was extrely excited.

...

Zhao Yi originally estimated that the results would take about a half a month to co due to the vast quantities of data from the previous and current experints. However, reality proved that the work efficiency of the Nuclear Organization was pretty high.

After ten days,

Ruan Wenye inford him imdiately, "I just ca from the conference center, most of the verification results are out."

"They are the sa as your results, showing obvious anomalies at the 125GeV position."

Ruan Wenye seed quite excited as he spoke. Seeing the calmness of Zhao Yi, he called out, "Do you know what this ans?"

"The position of 125GeV confird the presence of a new particle? Possibly the Higgs particle?"

"Exactly! Why aren’t you excited?"

"... Didn’t we already know this?" Zhao Yi was a little bit confused.

Ruan Wenye took a deep breath, "This ti it’s different. Last ti you only presented your report, and only a small part of the data was checked. Now, almost all data results are in!"

"Oh!

Zhao Yi remained pretty composed.

If the detection didn’t show any visible anomalies, that would have been strange, because the result fed back by the Causality Law had already confird that the Higgs particle existed at the 125GeV position.

So... what was the big deal?

He had known this all along.

Soon.

Zhao Yi received a call from the conference center. It was Frank Wilczek who called, he had won a Nobel prize in physics a few years ago for his achievents in quark particle theory (strong interaction).

When he arrived at the conference center, he t with Wilczek.

Wilczek’s diterranean-shaped head was quite noticeable, but he preferred having long hair. His hair was flying on both sides and bumped in the middle. This style leaves a deep impression. Not caring about his frightening look. He handed Zhao Yi a stack of reports and spoke, "Your research is correct."

With disbelief written all over his face, he said in a tone of astonishnt, "The detection result is very promising, we examined most of the data; whether it’s partition data or overall data, there is a bump at the 125GeV position."

Wilczek continued while pointing to the last few pages of the report, showing Zhao Yi the graphs representing the final results, "This is truly incredible, a novel screening thod. I’m convinced that with this thod, we can easily discover even more."

Zhao Yi exhaled and began to relax.

Wilczek continued, "There must be sothing existing there, maybe it’s a new particle or sothing else. Right now, we can’t confirm if it’s a Higgs particle, extensive research needs to be done."

"However, whatever it is, it’s definitely an invaluable discovery. On behalf of the nucleus organization, I thank you."

Zhao Yi just smiled, "You’re too kind."

"No, strictly speaking, you’re not a mber of the nucleus organization. You’re a mathematician, or a computer scientist. Hence, my formal thank"

Zhao Yi chatted with Wilczek for a while and asked about the future research plan. Wilczek seed surprised, "Are you planning to go back?"

"Yeah!"

Zhao Yi nodded, "I still have to go to Yanhua University. The second sester has already started. And I don’t want to miss many classes."

"...."

Wilczek was speechless.

The guy in front of him is a world-renowned number theorist. He managed to find signals of new particles in the data of particle collision experints through computer calculations.

That is equivalent to a discovery at the Nobel-Prize level!

And what’s happening then?

He wants to go ho for studies?

What’s the joke?

Isn’t it normal for geniuses to finish university at their early teens?

Zhao Yi couldn’t continue to waste his ti here; he was already eager to return. As soon as the final result was confird, he saw no relation to it.

He couldn’t participate in the following research anyway. Instead of staying here, wasting his ti, he’d rather go back to enjoy university life.

On the sa day.

The nucleus organization posted its latest results on the official website, which instantly attracted world-wide attention.

Many journalists gathered at the nucleus organization’s research base, ready to interview Zhao Yi, the one who contributed to the screening chanism, and found the signals of the new particles.

Then they realized they could not find Zhao Yi.

At this ti.

Zhao Yi was already on his way back ho, aboard a plane.
