After handing in the final accounting report for the project, the immunological response chanism study for rheumatoid arthritis was heading into its last phase.
This stage required reporting to superiors, cooperating with auditors sent by them, drafting relevant papers, and finally settling the project funds.
Throughout this wrap-up process, Zhao Yi didn’t need to be involved.
Whether it was writing professional dical papers or cooperating with the superiors’ auditing work, Zhang Wei and Ai Lixin were the ones in charge. Zhao Yi figured that after working on two projects consecutively and the lab work was always quite busy, it was ti to give everyone a break.
That day, Zhao Yi encouraged everyone in the lab, "Keep up the good work!"
"We’ve finally finished this project, and everyone worked very hard. Once we wrap everything up, we can take a proper break."
"Brother Liu, you’re about to beco a regular employee, right? Congratulations!"
Zhao Yi took out a stack of money from his bag, "Here’s your bonus."
Liu Chengjie was ecstatic holding the money.
Zhao Yi continued, "The project isn’t fully closed yet, but I reckon we’ll have just under a million left. Everyone will get over 50,000 as bonus."
He specially patted Liu Chengjie’s shoulder, "Don’t worry, Brother Liu, you’ll get a bonus this ti too!"
The office erupted in cheers imdiately.
When Liu Chengjie heard Zhao Yi’s words, he couldn’t stop himself from beaming. But then, he began to feel sothing was off.
Zhang Wei and Ai Lixin were very happy.
No one would say no to more money. Zhang Wei was thinking about splurging on a luxury bag, sick of carrying around her 200-yuan one, feeling uncomfortable all over.
Ai Lixin never expected such a huge bonus just half a month after joining the lab.
Once he got the money, his savings would swell instantly, giving him a trendous boost in work motivation.
Having a good boss really mattered. Compared to his previous boss, Dai Tianqing, who never gave out a bonus over ten thousand in ten years.
There was just no comparison!
Of course.
Ai Lixin could understand since they weren’t working on regular projects. Even if there were leftover project funds, they would be taken back.
"Projects with leftovers are just the best! But... not all labs dare to take them on!"
There must be reasons for the leftovers. Once a portion of the research funds is used up, there may not be enough left. It’d be better to reapply under a different na than to continue. Taking on a project and failing to complete it would be a stain on one’s research record.
The lab work resud afterwards.
Ai Lixin was writing his paper on the computer; Zhang Wei was doing the sa; Liu Chengjie was also analyzing data on his computer, apparently planning to write a summary paper.
Zhao Yi hung around for another five minutes, finished his coffee, checked the ti, and decided to leave.
There was nothing for him to do there.
After stepping out of the research institute, Zhao Yi suddenly felt like a capitalist. Although they were all working together and he learned a lot from the project.
In the end, the project actualised close to a million, but he only handed out tens of thousands in bonuses.
That...
Seed like he was exploiting a bit too much!
But then he shrugged it off, the main forces of the projects indeed were Ai Lixin and Zhang Wei. Liu Chengjie was always assisting, more involved than he was, but the speed of the project completion was primarily due to him.
He set the research direction, analyzed each experint, and drew conclusions.
These were the keys.
Designing the experints was sothing anyone in the institute could do. However, the final analysis and conclusion that directly helped identify critical issues were sothing only he could do.
So, it was justified.
Then Zhao Yi started worrying about his life goals again.
The requirent of his life goals was to initiate achievent tasks in biology, which ant he had to achieve acknowledged results in the field of biology. However, his achievents in biology were always overshadowed by his accomplishnts in math.
His math paper would still be published in the next issue of "Mathematical Progress."
"Hope it doesn’t make a big splash!" Zhao Yi sighed to himself.
He returned to his normal campus life.
For the next week, just like any ordinary student, he attended classes every day, played computer gas in his free ti, and played football or basketball on the playing field.
His life was easy and fulfilling.
During his laid-back university life, Zhao Yi never forgot about ’coin grinding.’ He always ground his sports coins, leisure coins, and relaxation coins, while flirting coins relied on luck and mood.
Only rest coins were left.
Rest coins were actually easy to grind. Zhao Yi never played truant and always chose higher mathematics or math problem classes. But there were often tis when there weren’t any higher math classes available.
So, when there were no higher math classes and he still wanted to grind rest coins, what could he do?
In the dormitory.
Zhao Yi and Fan Lei had just played a match of Dota online, which happily net them a few leisure coins. At the end of their ga, Fan Lei put down his headset and said to Zhao Yi, "I have to stop now, I have class!"
"Okay... What class?" Zhao Yi turned to ask.
"C Language!"
"C Language?"
Zhao Yi thought that he hadn’t ground any rest coins for the day, and he had never been to a C language class his entire uni life, so he might as well attend and earn so coins. "Let’s go together!"
"Together?"
Fan Lei opened his mouth wide in surprise, "You’re going to a C language class?"
