"A Mathematical Conference held by Jinning?"

Zhao Yi pondered for a while, recalling an invitation letter in his mailbox a few days ago, inviting him to a math conference at the end of May. He picked up the contact number and asked the staff, learning it was a conference held by the Mathematics Association, which also gave out several awards.

He declined.

Firstly, the timing was not great. The College Entrance Examination was approaching at the end of May. He had to stick to his normal classes. Going to Jinning was too far, requiring two or three days back and forth.

Secondly, he was not involved in the award ceremony!

If it were a math conference where he won an award, he would definitely attend. He thought he had his own prize, but there wasn’t even a nomination.

Zhao Yi declined on the grounds of ’schooling’.

He did not think much of it.

When asked by a reporter, he felt a bit puzzled. A math conference is an academic conference, even with awards, not many people would show concern. How did the reporter know?

The reporter explained.

A Professor Feng from Jinning University, while discussing the math conference, said it was ’regrettable that they could not invite Zhao Yi’. This sparked a lot of discussion in the academic world.

Jinning University was the host of this year’s math conference. The host was responsible for organizing the conference, and many people in the Mathematics Association believed that Zhao Yi should have been invited this year. Because Zhao Yi had solved the Collatz Conjecture, it was considered the greatest achievent in dostic mathematics from the past year till now.

Not being able to invite the ’greatest achiever in dostic mathematics’ to the Math Conference felt a bit regrettable.

The reporter asking the question worked for an academic magazine. The dostic mathematics community was quite concerned about the math conference, and professional dia in the academic community ca to interview Zhao Yi, asking for the reason for his refusal.

After understanding the situation, Zhao Yi was quite relaxed. He joked, "I asked, there was no award for !"

That was one of the reasons.

Zhao Yi continued, "Because of the timing. The conference is at the end of May, but I have to take the College Entrance Examination in June."

The reporter asked in confusion, "Isn’t the College Entrance Examination unimportant to you?"

"It’s very important."

Zhao Yi said seriously, "The College Entrance Examination for is not only about getting into university, it’s also because there’s only one in a lifeti. I will only attend high school once, and take the College Entrance Examination once."

"The College Entrance Examination is the summary of my three years of study. It’s not about showing others how much I score, but to explain it to myself."

"The College Entrance Examination is a milestone. Only by taking it and trying my best can I summarize and affirm myself. Only after the examination can I adjust my ntality and prepare for the next stage of learning!"

Zhao Yi spoke very seriously.

Most of what he said was true. Since his rebirth, he has been considering the College Entrance Examination. Along with his main life goal, he could not possibly let a math conference with ’no award for him’ interfere with the most important ti before the exam.

The College Entrance Examination is indeed a milestone.

After finishing the exams, he can adjust his ntality and prepare to officially step into university life, not just for studying, but for living as well.

Such as getting a girlfriend...

Cough cough.

The reporter understood Zhao Yi’s response.

Three years of high school study was all for the College Entrance Examination. Even if you can freely choose your university, you will surely prepare for the exam.

The Math Conference was a gathering for math researchers.

For Zhao Yi, a high school student, it was a bit early to attend such a conference.

After the reporter made the report, most people in the dostic mathematics community understood. The report made many realize that Zhao Yi, who had solved the Collatz Conjecture, was still just a high school student.

A number of academics vocalized their support for Zhao Yi, praising his attitude toward the College Entrance Examination.

At the sa ti.

So academics took advantage of the ’hot point’ trend and criticized Zhao Yi’s ability in mathematics and computer science, even comnting on his present and future.

Professor Feng from Jinning University, who expressed regret earlier, said, "Zhao Yi indeed solved the Collatz Conjecture, but he used the basic thods of computer and mathematics. From this, we can see that his foundation is very solid, but currently, he lacks more in-depth and systematic theoretical knowledge in mathematics."

This was referring to university and more in-depth mathematics knowledge.

Professor Feng continued to say, "He solved the Collatz Conjecture, but we should not regard him from the perspective of a mathematician, he is still just a high school student."

"He is undoubtedly a genius. In the field of mathematics, many professional research tasks require profound knowledge and mathematical thods. What he needs now is a systematic study of the basics of mathematics."

"We can look forward to him achieving more in the future..."

What Professor Feng said was a normal critique. He implied Zhao Yi lacked systematic theoretical knowledge and hoped for his further achievents.

Other scholars who provided comntary, conveyed so definitive views.

Such as Li Yilai.

Zhao Yi did not even know Li Yilai’s na, but Li Yilai rembered Zhao Yi very well. His critique was a bit targeted, "Zhao Yi is just a high school student, no matter how high his achievents, he is still a high school student. He was able to prove the Collatz Conjecture, but the thods he used were basic."

"Everyone recognizes him as a genius, but I believe he is a genius in the field of computer science, not mathematics. Mathematics is the most basic, but also the most difficult discipline. It is very difficult to achieve in mathematics. Many math researchers have done a lot of work, but in the end, they proved to be of no use."
